I don't always agree with the changes the design team makes, but I've been pretty happy with how the PFS team implements those changes. For the Lorewarden, we've had a few months to evaluate how the changes to the archetype would affect characters. John requested feedback about what those effects are and how the characters could be transitioned more easily.

The Fungus is a more complicated statblock than average for a tier 1-2 adventure. I'd browse through the Universal Monster Rules on the PRD to get a sense of some of the many different abilities. Keep it handy when prepping an unfamiliar statblock.

GM: The ability is marked as spell-like (Sp). Those take a standard action unless it says "As an attack action" or similar.
The fungus could attack with two tendrils and make a bite, but they would be normal attacks, and not daze. Check out the Magic Chapter of the Core Rulebook for more information about Spell-like abilities.

Here goes something Finding himself alone with the foul creature, while his companions languish below, Erasmus decides to even the odds a little. Channeling the Strength of his sister and the heart of the cards, he heaves. Bull Rush: 1d20 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 2 + 1 + 1 = 20

Yeah, Erasmus had hoped some others would make the climb, so he didn't have a chance to come up with or explain this plan. You all did him cross the bridge, though. I assumed other characters might come up with the "if we can't get to the fun-, let's bring the -gus to us" sort of idea.

We will have plenty of time to secure a rope and take our time after combat. I just don't want to act until someone provokes an AoO. It would stink to fall unconscious before Erasmus can heave-ho. Readied actions to attack if you can't provoke would be most helpful, I think.

Does Fran have a Fortune available for Erasmus to push the plant down with? Mathos, are you sure you want to climb up if the plant is going down?

I'll post after the retcon takes effect and someone's triggered the AoO. Can Elena have her actions back? Or would she really have attempted to climb again.

I don't think we need to retreat. Put wormling and Fran back on the ledge and apply Rhasuel's cure light to Elena. If someone else provokes an AoO, Erasmus can attempt a Bull Rush on the fungus. With spirit surge, it's 50/50 he makes it and Elena can do what she does best.

I usually assume that out-of-order posting is the result of delay actions. That way, initiative order and posting order don't matter much. Will: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12 Erasmus continues to dodge and weave, moving around toward the bridge. AC 21

Erasmus throws his starknife, allowing his sister a surge of influence over his throwing arm and trusting in Fran's luck to see it through. Attack: 1d20 + 6 - 4 + 1d6 ⇒ (11) + 6 - 4 + (6) = 19

Characters can be separated from their pets in a normal initiative scheme. That would happen any time an enemy's initiative came between the two of them.

I kind of like breaking the party into blocks, especially for so large a cast of characters. I would suggest making it a rolling initiative block, though. If you bold four characters and two people have gone, update combat with the two remaining characters bolded as well as two characters from the second block. At most, you'll have four character posts to deal with at a time, but you give more people an opportunity to post between updates.

Erasmus leans into the room, holding tight to the doorframe, "Are you all possessing that one book? Fascinating..." he seems lost in thought for a moment before continuing, "Dr. Quolorum sent us. In the morning, Erasmus invites his companions to a seance in the tavern's common room. Again, he channels the spirit of his sister. "Please, Estra. Erasmus approaches the monument after others have a chance to look around. He puts both hands on the stone, closes his eyes, and spends a minute focusing on the psychic impressions left in this area.
