Hello, I have a player in one of my games insistent on being able to use the dancing property on their gun. Normally dancing is reserved for melee weapons, but due to the Mage Bullets ability, spellslingers are able to add dancing to their gun.

How is this supposed to work? Does the spellslinger's gun when dancing attack with a melee attack, like a pistol whip ability from the gunslinger, or does it do a ranged attack?

If the gun does a ranged attack, can it be at its normal range or is it only against creatures next to it?

Would the gun provoke an attack of opportunity if it shot at a creature next to it?

Would the creature get to choose to attack the spellslinger or only attack the gun?

I've done some research on this, but it seems that the only consensus is that this is a fringe case and a rather weird ability.

You all manage to find without too much trouble a small home located in the West Dock neighborhood of Midland district. Fredrik finds the door to the home open and makes his way inside. He finds a cozy chamber within the small home filled with the fragrant haze of flowers and strong spice. The haze comes from several sticks of incense smoldering in wall-mounted burners that look like butterfly-winged elves.

The smoke itself seems to soften the edges and gives the room a dream-like feel. The walls are draped with brocaded tapestries, one showing a black-skulled beast juggling men's hears, another showing a pair of angels dancing atop a snow-blasted mountain. A third tapestry on the far wall depicts a tall hooded figure shrouded in mist, a flaming sword held in a skeletal hand. Several brightly-colored rugs cover the floor, but the room's only furnishing are a wooden table covered by a bright red throw-cloth and several elegant tall-backed chairs. A basket covered by blue cloth sits under the table.

As Fredrik is the first to arrive, he finds a simple note on the table, weighed down with a stone paperweight. Shortly after Fredrik finishes the note, Tobar arrives, followed a few minutes after by Tatyana. After about ten minutes a devilishly handsome elf finds his way to the home.

Feel free to look around and introduce yourselves. There is food and wine in the basket and enough chairs for everyone plus the mysterious host.

Hi! I had created a discussion thread for an upcoming play-by-post with a private group of my friends and I received a prompt for creating a campaign page/thread for it. I clicked yes, and populated the Campaign Info tab, then went back to check on the discussion thread.

However, when I clicked on the discussion tab, it told me that I had not yet connected the discussion thread for this campaign. That was when I realized that my original discussion thread had been populated on the gameplay tab. Is it possible move my discussion thread to where it is suppose to go?

Thank you! Play By Post where I done goof'd

This is the discussion thread for our Curse of the Crimson Throne Game.

I will use this thread for moving involved out of character questions, special rules that are campaign specific, dates for the next Skype session, and if I am going to be absent for a period longer than 3 days.

Once everyone has posted their characters, with their alias' (aliai?), I will private message everyone the campaign setup. I plan on rolling all initiative checks for combat, and grouping like monsters together in the pbp, that way combat can go faster. If you have an issue with this, please let me know and we can discuss other options to keep things fair while helping keep combat quick.

Random Dice Rolls:

Katrina Tyir: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Emanuel Gaskel: 1d20 ⇒ 7

Congratulations on creating such exciting and interesting characters! This is a lurker friendly thread, and discussion page for all things pertaining to this campaign.

I will use this thread for: move involved out of character questions, special rules that are campaign specific, and if I or someone else is going to be absent for a period longer than 3 days.

Let's make this an awesome campaign!

alsoBoris' Curse of the Crimson Throne (Pathfinder)

The curse of the Crimson Throne takes hold of Korvosa! In the shadow of an ailing king, a new ruler gathers power, sending shock-waves through a populace already plagued by unrest and pushing the largest city in Varisia to the brink of disaster.

In the face of anarchy, a new band of heroes gather at the call of a mysterious patron. Strange magic and mysterious prophesies set them on the trail of a common foe -a path that draws them into the struggle to save the city from ruin. Amid the intrigues of kings and generals, heroes and thieves, it's up to these new heroes to decide whether the rule of a new monarch will usher in a new age of glory or a reign of chaos.

WELCOME TO KORVOSA

Curse of the Crimson Throne is set in the city of Korvosa, located in Varisia. This game will have the PCs working to help preserve the city of Korvosa and save it from ruin. Curse of the Crimson Throne will be beginning in the month of Calistril in the year 4708.

As this entire adventure path hinges on players rescuing Korvosa from various states of ruin, PCs must be from the city. Information about Korvosa can be found for free on the pathfinder wiki here and on pages 2-7 of the free 3.5 player's guide. As Curse of the Crimson Throne was created with the old DnD 3.5 system in mind, I will be updating this AP to Pathfinder, using appropriate classes, monsters, and other challenges, while attempting to keep as close to the original intent as possible.

THE PRIME DIRECTIVE
Players who make it into this campaign will be expected to post once every 24-hours during the weekdays, once every 48-hours on the weekends, and I will uphold that same posting activity. Some days there will be more posting than others, but this campaign will run at a semi-leisurely pace. If you do not post once withing 24 hours during combat, actions will be taken for you. I reserve the right to eject from the campaign anyone who has not posted in 72 hours without prior warning of absence.

I expect players to engross themselves in the role-playing element and contribute interestingly to the story.

Combat will be handled by a mass initiative roll in one of my posts, followed by announcing a round of combat and listing the order of combatants. Players are welcome to post out of order, but please keep in mind that your actions will take place in the order of initiative, not your posts. At the end of a round, I will post a "synopsis" that covers the actions and reactions of the entire round.

Please look for the coordinate-based combat maps in the first post of any combat encounter. I will ask everyone to please include the coordinate your character (and any followers/cohorts) in at the bottom of all in-combat posts:

LOCATION (Alikia): B12
LOCATION (Alikia's Familiar): B13

RECRUITMENT INFORMATION
Recruitment for Curse of the Crimson Throne will close on October 24th. I will be posting/alerting the selected on October 27th. The campaign will begin on October 31st.

I will be accepting 4-5 characters. I will primarily be looking for a Divine, Arcane, Warrior, and Skill Monkey. If you feel that your character does not fall into any of these categories, I will also have an "other" category, which I may choose from.

3/5

I live in Stafford, VA, which is an hour and a half from Fairfax and an hour and a half from Richmond. I was wondering which venture officer was in charge of Stafford so I could find out about more local game days or publicly run scenarios.
