He stands stock still and wordless while they eye him with open hostility. After a few moments of being barked at in a language Esteban clearly doesn't understand, Esteban reaches into a vest and draws out something sparkly. He offers it to the Ekujae with a friendly smile and quickly gains some new friends. They head off into the jungle together. WTF was that?!?

Keliwyn gathers his things and makes sure to collect any stray papers he can find regarding the Aspis Consortium, and then joins Fippin and the others as they prepare to load the canoes. He can't help but turn to Fippin and say, with a wink, "Well, that worked out rather nicely, If I do say so myself!" Are we limited to two in a canoe or can Carlus fit with Keliwyn & Fippin?

There's nothing like a good, well timed diplomacy roll for moving a story along . . . Keliwyn hands tosses the bottle to Carlus and says, "You're a snake, Esteban, but we knew that and I certainly don't expect you change what you are. However," he continues with a nod towards Carlus, "it does sound like we're all going to be here another day or two, and we're still need each other if we're going to get out of here alive." Sykala wrote: Whispering to the others with a humorless smile, "Let fight Ekujae for gold." Keliwyn looks at Sykala with more than a little surprise. After a brief pause, he responds, "As tempting as that is, I'd like to consider that our last option. Let's try and negotiate with them first, and try and explain that we've defeated those who have been fighting them and that we will be abandoning the station. Let's also figure out what's left here that we can offer them." After a few moments of pacing, he looks up. "Let's give them Petrune. Personally, I have no problem explaining to them that the was the one behind everything that happened here."
Male Elf Rogue 5
Keliwyn is reluctant to leave the sight of Petrune, but helps with the slaves once they are above ground. As they walk off, he turns to Fipping, out of ear shot of the necromancer. "I don't know. I still don't know what to make of all this. Clearly, Aspis was digging for gold on the backs of the ekujae, and then Petrune decided to act in his own interest on the backs of everyone. Am I missing anything?"

Keliwyn glances behind him to see Baas crush another zombie, and then eyes the zombie between himself and Petrune, and calls out, "Call off the undead, and I will talk my friends into sparing your life. You can't win this fight, don't be a fool!" With that, the nimble elf bobs & weaves in an attempt to get around the final zombie. Good luck with the move.

Keliwyn nods his head and says, "In for a cooper, in for a gold," and moves up behind the others. So, uh, how many zombies are there ahead of us?
Male Elf Rogue 5
Keliwyn looks from Fippin, back across the room to the tunnel out, and back to the others. "Okay we stand here," he says. Turning towards the others, he stands a little taller, and yells, "Baas! Come back to the room! Let them come to us so we can fight together! We can hold at this room!"
Male Elf Rogue 5
Just for clarification purposes, Baas & Ixius are in the room, or at most, just a little into the passage, right? You're letting the zombies come to you? It was/is Keliwyn's plan to go through the barracks into the other tunnel. How long would you estimate that to take, Mr. DM? Where is Esteban during all this?
Male Elf Rogue 5
Keliwyn shakes his head, content to leave Petrune to the jungle, but knowing that Sykala won't leave him. "Fipp," Keliwyn says quietly, although not quite at a whisper, "Sykala, Baas and Ixius can hold their own from this position. What do you say we try the other tunnel you found, and see if it connects in behind Petrune? Maybe we can bring this to a quick end."

"Alot of good men have died here," Keliwyn shouts as he watches the zombies close on Ixius and Fippin, "We would like to know why!"
Male Elf Rogue 5
Keliwyn abruptly stops short at seeing the zombies, turns and looks back the other way. He's clearly trying to gauge whether he has enough time to rejoin the others. After a moments pause, he makes his decision, and runs for the (relative) safety of the group. "Pull back to the room!" he yells, "Let them come to us!" Any sign of where the scream came from?

Keliwyn peers into the tunnel after Baas, Ixius and Fippin, and can't stop wondering what will happen if Petrune let's go with another fireball like he threw at Sykala. The there of her, however, gives him another thought and he runs out after her. "Sykala! Grab on of them! Let's find out what they know about these tunnels!" he yells. Where is Esteban during all of this?

Male Elf Rogue 5
"Hold on," Keliwyn says, blocking Baas from doing anything yet., "Esteban was chasing him, too, and it seems the Captain is on our side, at least for the moment." With that, the elf gestures for everyone to step back from the door opening, draws his rapier, and then he opens the door, using it as a shield to cover himself from anyone inside.

Spoiler: "Pas!" (Damn!) Keliwyn mutters as he spots Petrune, book in hand. His neck audibly cracks as he looks after Esteban, and then back to Petrune, and then raises his bow for a shot at the spell caster. Hesitating for only the briefest of moments, Keliwyn realizes that Petrune must have taken back his spell book when he fell asleep in his room just minutes ago, and that although he was at Petrune's mercy, the man didn't harm him. "Pas!" he yells again as he throws his arrow at the ground, slings his bow, grabs his rapier and runs after Esteban.

As he let's his arrow fly, Keliwyn can feel what seems like the shot of his life just sing off the bow string, and before it even hits, he knows it will strike true. The grinning elf holds the bow out, looks at it, and exclaims, "Thank you, Ixius!"

Keliwyn suddenly jerks awake, and after a moment or two of confusion, he realizes that he nodded off in Petrune's room. After waking with the others and being at a loss for what else to do, he found himself in the mage's room again, trying to piece things together. Now, it seems, there was some commotion. Rising to his feet, the elf's brain starts to buzz as he realizes it's still early in the day, and possibly not another ekujae attack. He returns to the room where he and his companions are quartered to see if there is anyone else around, and finds the place eerily quiet. Looking out the window, things get even more confusing as he sees Gorse leading a contingent of guards in an assault on the guardhouse. With that, he draws his rapier and heads for the roof, hoping to get a better vantage point to learn what he can. I rolled a ranged attack before I realized that there may be a guard left on the roof to deal with first.

Our gravesight's 1/4 mile yonder and the damn savages won't let us get to it to bury our dead. ... Thought you were supposed to fix that." Keliwyn looks from the guardsman to Fippin, and then says, "I didn't say Petrune was storing, just that they were there, but that brings me to the bigger question - why is Apsis here? I just can't figure it out. Other than getting killed by ekujae, they don't seem to be actually doing anything in this good awful place."
Male Elf Rogue 5
Assuming we have some privacy to speak . . . In response to Fippin, Keliwyn looks at the others and starts to explain. "Well, I took advantage of the eukujae's attack to search his quarters, and I did find what could well be a spell-book, but nothing else of note. Baas & I also just took a look in the storage shed, and although I was expecting to find some ekujae bodies, there weren't any, although there was a lot of human bodies." After a pause, he continues, "I'm still at a loss as to what is going on here, and even as to what Petrune was doing dealing with the ekujae. The only possibility I can come up with is that those bodies were actually human, that somehow, through magic, he changed their appearance, and that he was trying make a little money selling them the remains of what they thought were their kinsmen." "So, I imagine you didn't get very far with Gorse, correct?" I am embarrassed to say it took me a few minutes to figure out what prompted that.
