my advice?, take ur troll to stroll in "greener pastures", like i did. this one wont get any better.

It's funny, the game has already gotten better in the almost-three months since EE began, but people still like to make a point to come onto these boards to slam the game.

Personally, I think the game has mostly room for improvement, it's definitely far from perfect, but I love the vision for the game and I see where it's going. It will take time for it to get there, of course.

I hope GW/Paizo has planned their finances such that this game can at least survive long enough to get to the point where it has enough content that one could say it's ready for a release that is closer to the amount of content with which other MMOs release. Then we could start to see whether the game continues to grow incrementally enough to be sustainable, or whether it appears that the writing is on the wall, as has happened with many other MMOs.

But to come here and spew a highly subjective opinion that the game "won't get any better" is in poor taste, in my (also highly subjective) opinion. The game is not for you in some way or another, we get it. Please take your money elsewhere and stop coming back, trying to poison this community.

we are talking about "the grass", it wont get in a state cool enough for us anytime soon.

I'd put players on the trailers. Even the worst looking of us look better than our characters. ;-)

I like all the concepts the players are suggesting you show, but the graphics at this point are soooo primitive and 1994 looking I'm afraid you'll scare people away.

or better, renderize some our playerbase and pretend they are all happy trolls rolling in the grass.

it would be awesome if we could play trolls and give orders to the goblins on escalations, throw giant stones and make funny noises.

the ego clashing here is amazing!! one of the things keeping this game alive is this forum and all his drama( most fun than playing the game in current state), good job!

" one just need to best you in one thing to beat you".

From now on for each 50 members a charter company will win a settlement. Can we move on now?

Hey kabal, I noticed you aren't necroing as many threads recently. Have you given up your necromantic practice, or are you just getting sneakier about it? ;) (just a joke, btw)

are u a golgotha instigator now? exploiting ppl weakspots, darksides to make us join them. (joke) :)

we will only know who is a griefer/evil/conqueror when the game goes live. Until then, we are only wasting time pointing fingers with no real proof.

I'm sure a victory will be claimed when no one rolls their core alignment as Chaotuc Evil, and no one slides to Chaotic Evil.

The shallowness of that victory will be in the fact that characters with other alignments will be motivated by chaos and evil, while hiding behind another alignment and operating within the systems so as not to lose reputation. Motivations are untraceable by either other players or even the game mechanics.

So what could this look like?

The Good Settlement is NG. It has a few POIs and a number of Outposts. Suddenly it is feuded by another company. The Good Seetlement investigates and funds out that it has been feuded by a Lawful Good Company known as Divine Dissonance.

The Goods send an emissary to discover what caused this feud. Their emissary is attacked and killed without mercy or word as to why there is conflict. The DDs then raid the outposts, killing every NPC and anyone arriving to aid the outposts.

The DDs then use a third party, meta gamed to assassinate the leader of The Goods. This is followed by additional raids, and slaughter of any feud targets.

The feud ends and finally the Divine Dissonance contacts The Goods and explains that they feuded the Goods because they wore a red hat on Green Hat Tuesday.

Not one of the actions I mentioned above would cost DD any alignment shift nor lose any reputation. It's motivation was purely Chaotic Evil. Untraceable, undetectable and unpunishable.

Your alignment system is now completely meaningless, but you won't have any Chaotic Evil characters.... Woot!! Epic Fail.

because this is the game being played as intended.

its funny when we see a movie or play video game (usually part 2) where enemies or old allies have to team up against a third force and we think why these stupid boneheads dont let it go those petty disputes/pride/arrogancy aside and unite?" Now that we are in this situation we more or less react in the same form, i guess its easy to judge when u are viewing from outside. more curious yet is the fact that usually are the leaders ego that get in the way not the ppl belonging to the groups.

As a follow up, I do have one suggestion/request for Ryan as concerns PFO's eventual subscription + MTX model.

I know this is pretty far off, Ryan, but if you guys do have any plans to display adverts for PFO's cash shop either in the UI or in the game world itself, I would suggest that you give subscribers (at least) the option to hide or turn off those adverts. I feel that part of the value that people pay for with a subscription is to not have thier game play disturbed or disrupted with cash shop considerations and I find that adverts during play can be VERY disruptive. Something on a login screen or account management screen is fine.....but during actual game play can really detract from the players experience of the game.

thats the reason i dont play lotro anymore.

Let me be clear as to my stance in light of my last post: I think when a settlement is being taken, all hands should come to battle. I'm just saying that, if it's gotten to that point, there won't be much that the crafters can do. If your settlement is on the brink of destruction it seems highly unlikely that crafters could save it through combat, but I agree that they should at least try, as there's a chance they will.

yes, even if they fail, they show loyalty to ur settlement and ideals, this is important for the group as whole.

if they come with " i wont lose my stuff in vain", well ,make ur judgement.

I was wrong. I shouldn't tell them this isn't the game for them. I should work to explain how this game will not support that particular play style, and encourage them to adopt a play style that will be supported.

i think this may be the point where you and Bludd could come to see eye to eye, encourage them to play while being bluntly honest. imo the reason why we cant condemn Bludd on that ocasion is because the guy came with a closed mind stance(even if unintentionally)to discuss, also the fact that the instance " the game is not for u" came just after a lot of discussion and convincing with no success. but the reason im posting this is because both of u are equally important to the community, usually pointing out the 2 extremes where we see it and reach a middle ground.
