Keeper's Pass the Settlement and Keepers of the Circle are Neutral Good.

Goblin Squad Member

I may be mistaken, but isn't Abadar Lawful Neutral?

Observers of the Pass - Comprised of the Ring of Light and the Ring of Wood

Keepers of the Circle - Comprised of the Sentinel, the Watcher, the Ring of Gold, the Ring of Shadow and the undecided

We have an easier to remember web address now: www.kotcguild.com!

I can only see Company Vaults at present and did some playing around with it but they don't seem to work for everyone at present.

Ryan did just post in the Goblinworks forum that there is something going on with Settlement features that they will be looking into a fix for either tomorrow or Saturday.

Goblin Squad Member

We're still working on ours :)

Goblin Squad Member

I actually didn't notice either until you pointed it out... It must have happened recently-ish.

Not that I don't account for being blind either. Like driving by a sign and noticing it was different and then wondering just how long it had been since they changed it despite driving that way every day.

Goblin Squad Member

We at Keepers Pass are currently writing ours. We will get it in but may be closer to the deadline to catch as much feedback internally as we can.

Love the original of this song, so of course its now stuck in my head (though Savage Grace, you did start that with the song title ;) Stuck in my head for week).

Awesome job, Deianira!

I'm going to echo the "last resort" portion. There are lots of channels prior to that. Such as the warning and opening up a communication for permissions (if all you need is a little bit - that's different than strip-mining). You can establish trade, or some agreement that is mutually agreeable. This all happens before someone is run off or killed.

Goblin Squad Member

Mine too.

Something with the husk looting - I had understood it to be that there is a 25% chance of each item being destroyed and each looter would be able to take 1 item (or 1 line item). So a group of 4 bandits could each take 1 item from the husk for a total of 4 items (or line items) from the husk.

Since that is not the case in practice, I likely misread the blog/post about it. Its also possible other people had read it the same way as I had.

Not that I am advocating any one way in particular, but was tossing out there other potential misunderstandings.

@ Gol Tabomo - Erian is the diplomat and Guardian of Gold for Keepers of the Circle. We are allied to Blackwood Glade. I believe you will want to talk to Mourn Blackhand as he is with Blackwood Glade (he can get you the correct BWG representative to speak to if I am incorrect on the contact for this case).

Just to clarify... I'm pretty sure he's talking about spells that are duplicates of ones he already has.

Golgotha has a lot of sharing, and if we can't use something, we pass it to those who can.

Last night I had culture shock in Keeper's Pass when someone was offering to BUY the recipes they needed in chat. I'm not saying we won't ever buy or sell something in Golgotha. Just that the concept *so far* is pretty darn foreign to me.

For the record, there is a fair amount of sharing in Keeper's Pass. Resources and items pass between our members quite often.

We are pleased to announce the name of our tavern: The Laughing Ogre Alehouse!

Come have a drink - I'd say take a seat but we are lacking in chairs at present, but soon that shall be remedied!

If you like to roleplay, this is a great spot should you be down in the area.

I died 6 times trying to get to Keepers Pass when traveling in a group of two. And then went out with the group of 12 and died five more times on our way home in the same spot.

I lost quite a bit of resources (and equipped items due to durability), but it was sure a lot of fun going out hunting despite that loss.

Ogres as far as the eye can see is quite the sight!

Clerics now have weapon feats based on their deities so that could help with the imagery.

Goblin Squad Member

I saw word that they are hoping to deploy EE4 on Saturday.

Goblin Squad Member

Ours have as well for Keepers Pass.

If you email paizo you can get a moderator to fix things for you if you ask nicely. I have had this happen when I was getting used to posting links. It may take a bit of time as they are busy, but its worth a try.

I have posted this info to our Keeper's Pass notice board in hopes to get interested folks up your way for the event.

You want to know one major problem, that there is almost no way in game of being able to contact people.

I log on in Hammerfall and am alone, I try whispers to those contacts I have, no answer.
If I want to try contacting other settlements, I have, more often than not, have to get on voice coms. This means running up to three different kinds of clients; TS, Vent or Mumble.
Otherwise I have to go to various company/settlement web site and sign on, leave a PM or post, hoping that someone will read them and get back to me.
At a last resort I have to travel to other settlements hoping that there will be someone within chat range to help me out.

I will not use the Help chat for this, because that is not what it is for and, also, not everyone reads it.

I would love to have a friends list or a chat channel to be able to contact other players.

At the moment most of the communications are using resources outside the game and it can be very awkward.

I am stuck on both of my characters at the moment because I require resources to advance and I need to contact others to get them but am stuck at this point.

I am not going to leave Hammerfall to go to another settlement because it needs to survive, but unless I devote a large amount of time that I do not have it is going nowhere.

If I was able to create a friends list, so that I knew who was online and then whisper them, it would make my life so much easier.

I also agree the lack of in game communication is making things difficult.

If there is anything you need, you can also let Erian El'ranelen or myself know and we at Keeper's Pass can see what we can do. Thannon of Canis Castrum is also a great resource and we have had good transactions with them as well.

I've been trapped in a few holes, a few evasion helped. One was a deeper trench. I don't know if the trick still works but this was how I got out of the hole:

Logged out. Then when I logged back in, after hitting "enter world" I immediately pressed and held the up arrow. It seemed that you could move before the terrain loaded (even though you can't seen anything but the loading screen). When I was able to see the game, I was out of the hole.

I don't think there's been a time where I haven't seen anyone in Keeper's Pass. I see citizens from all the neighboring towns as well as our own citizens and we chat with each other, trade, party up and head out and so forth regardless of who is from where.

Goblin Squad Member

I, like many others, would love to be able to have a way to contact all those that signed up on the Landrush board itself. Some of those names likely never signed up on our own website so I have no idea if they just voted to vote or if they planned to join us in the first place.

I know many of our number have been hit with Real Life and have not been able to get in the game yet - likely a possibility with other groups as well.

I would repost the one of mine that got the most favorites but it would be really long. It was the Visitors Guide to Keeper's Pass "brochure" at 6 favorites.

The next highest was at 5 which I am sharing because out of context its amusing (it was posted on a different forum about Bastardhall):

It was a blast. I happened to be the one who lit the fire and be the one to die in said fire. Turning on the party was quite fun ;).

I run into issues logging out at times. It delays for awhile before actually letting me close out.

I also have lag when there's a lot of people around but I think that has more to do with my own network than the game itself.

I too wish to join others in wishing the Emerald Lodge the best of luck as you continue on. I thoroughly enjoy reading of Theodum's musings.

As a record, we, Keepers of the Circle and by extension the settlement of Keeper's Pass, are Neutral Good.

We have our own rules for our own Settlement, and in this case Erian is letting everyone know what that law is - that we do not support aggression in our territory.

If companies decide not to follow that law, then we will respond to protect our Settlement. (Ie you attack us, then we will attack you. But if you do not attack us, we will not attack you).

I don't see how we can't have our own rules and be in an Alliance with others. It's not about being a neutral party here - we do not allow aggressive measures by our members against anyone who didn't aggress first regardless of their alignment.

The bonus would also make up for the fact that gatherers can't help but get in each other's way.....

This is definitely something I've ran into because I can't always remember which nodes a companion has visited. (Let alone remember which one's I have visited!) Though having the node disappear after harvesting a bit faster would solve that issue.

The concept of a group bonus for gathering is certainly an interesting one.

2. I agree with a lot of ideas already put out: a meet and greet, q&a session, what's in store for 2015, and demo stations

@Flynn I am noticing the attacks which was why I wanted to make sure what I was saying was clearer than my initial post. I do apologize for that misunderstanding.

I have looked at the rep changes and honestly don't agree with most of it. I like that you can gain rep while offline, but the rate to regain it is too low. It hurts the meaningful PVP'ers more than solves the issue of stopping those being jerks.

It would be nice to have some kind of flag that allows for consensual PvPing (akin to feuding and wars) that could be in place now until those features are in. There are the Towers and the rep free windows but those can be limiting as well.

Or you guys could just keep complaining about pvp until GW nerfs it into none existence and we all go play crowfall.

Not sure if you are meaning my comments or just in general, but in regards to myself I am not against PvP. I am against meaningless PvP killing. Quite possibly the instances I am talking about have nothing to do with what the meaningful PvP'ers are doing.

As I said, I hope there can be a balance that allows meaningful PvP to be possible that doesn't harm the meaningful PvP'ers or harm the experience of those who are unable to defend because they can't see (ie crafting or AH interfaces blocking everything).

In my own experience I have died once to another player and would consider it meaningful PvP. I had no weapons on me so I couldn't do anything about it but was traveling and inadvertently went into an open window Tower Hex. I was killed once and then was chased by another out of the hex (who gave me a warning shot and verbal warning). That I see as meaningful (and I would think) more fun than killing people who do nothing at all because they aren't there.

Just my own thoughts. There are other valid opinions out there, and do not see my stance as better than another's.

My main issue is with someone trying to craft - they can't even see an attacker coming until its too late.

Give me a break are you telling me every AFKER that gets killed is running off to deal with a rl event that cant be put on hold for the 10 seconds it takes to unequip and bank your things? In my mind that is pretty minor although I can agree with the thornguard changes and the crafting, one should not be able to be killed without knowing when dealing with crafting at the trainers.

I didn't say ALL were dealing with RL problems. Some are. It was to the comment made that indicated all were lazy if they didn't log off. I was indicating that it was not always the case.

I honestly think the fix to the Thornguards will be very helpful and finding some means of showing the mini map while crafting or something that gives you a heads up could help solve that issue.

I know this is a game where there is pvp and danger and so forth and should be as this is the River Kingdoms. I'm not expecting immunity to combat in towns either. Just something better than it is now. I hope a balance can be found for both parties.

(You people are fast typers!)

They are upset because they lost durability to what they are wearing or lost everything in their inventory because it was looted.

Combat is not harassment.

If you want combat free towns, crowdforge it.

Killing people in town is poor behavior and drives people out of the game. If you want a game with the population of a ghost town, then keep on.

This. Having the Thornguards be "better trained" to protect people in town will help. While no where can be truly safe, there should be some measure of safety in one's own town to be able to do what you need or want without having to constantly be next to the computer to defend yourself because someone else wants to fight.

You call it combat, but I call it harassment because one party is not wanting a fight and there is nothing short of logging out and not playing that will fix it at the game's present state.

I know there are a few in Keeper's Pass that have not been enjoying being shot at or killed in Keeper's Pass. The complaints I have been hearing are from those that were trying to either craft or had to step away for something in RL and came back to find themselves dead are not thrilled.

I'm fine if both parties wish to duke it out, or if someone is jumped in the woods by a bandit (hazard of living in the River Kingdoms), but having people be harassed in town is not something I care to see.

Goblin Squad Member

I second the idea of going wizard and grabbing a few cleric spells to get the healing and buffs that a witch would have. This is similar to what I am doing to try and approximate a Bard.

Anyone interested in joining the Keepers of the Circle, please check out our Guildlaunch page.

I would also appreciate anyone joining the Keepers of the Circle in PFO to give me a PM so I can know who you are so I can accept your application. Thanks!

This happens to me at times. But most times all I have to do is wait and it will eventually heal up. Last night it happened while I was running around the same hex. I could see hex boundaries doing it but I also think the occasional flaky internet connection can do it too. It's been awhile since I had to do a log out and back in to fix non-healing.

Goblin Squad Member

Congrats to the winners. Hope to see more tourneys in the future.

You can also harvest nodes from a small distance too. I've noticed as long as my little arrow in the minimap is touching the node I will gather from the node even if it looks to me that I am a little distance away.
