All I'm suggesting if that if you want people to stay in the 1e OP and to not form their own Shadow Lodge 1e OP is to at least provide them with the number of play opportunities a month they've been accustomed to. Which is 2. If you want to tie additional replays over that to boons and playing 2e that's fine. Look, I don't want people to cheat, but in the end what I want most is for the people playing the games to enjoy themselves. If I play 2e OP I really don't want to be playing with people who are GMing or Playing just so they can replay the OP game they want to play. That will just hurt the table enjoyment of the 2e game. ![]()

Right, so it's still limited to the events you have personal control over, or have a way to influence the person that does. Nothing can stop people from splintering off and making a alternate fan run version of the PFS 1e OP like people did when they got made with Adventures League and if they only use paper chronicle sheets which are the only official reporting method they could unintentionally or intentionally mix into the Guild run PFS 1e OP. People are going to play the games they enjoy, especially if they invested in the game. Tying the 1e replays to PFS 2e OP is not good for the people who want to keep playing 1e. The only reason to tie them together is to try and make more profit for Paizo. And is the Non-Profit's goal to make more money for Paizo or to run an enjoyable OP campaign? Cause that's a weird non-profit if it's purpose is to make a profit for a company. ![]()

And that's fair TOZ, but what do you do when the set up a table in the game store next to you and run it without you, and with the store's permission? In the end the power of the VO's really are the same as any other person running a game. Even banning a PFS number wouldn't do much as online reporting isn't a requirement and not all numbers are even activated for tracking in the system. When it comes to the ability to replay the 1st PFS OP the campaign should be looking at ways to keep these players engaged because they are loyal customers and they still want to enjoy the games. All you do by setting a way to get replays by forcing them to play 2e will sour them on 2e. The goal should be at least 2 replays a month per person before having to use boons or Achievement Points. You also have a better chance of the players joining 2e down the road by not making them feel ostracized by still wanting to enjoy 1e. ![]()

So no way to really stop it. Gotcha. I'm not encouraging people to be deceitful because they might get away with it. I even said I'd rather them not break the rules. It's also not because "Paizo cops aren't around the corner", it's "Paizo Cops don't exist." I'm just pointing out that your little "we VO's won't allow it" philosophy is hollow and if people are going to do it to continue to enjoy the game they've paid tons of money to play they will. And frankly the Organized Play campaign was built on the idea of two new play opportunities a month for years, if you want the people who will continue to play PFS 1e OP to follow the OP rules then you should at least allow them that many opportunities to play without having to commit to the PFS 2e OP that they don't want to move to. The current proposal falls short of that, and Paizo should at least find a way to hold up their end of the bargain of the PFS 1e OP if they want the player base to. ![]()

How do you propose they stop it? Seriously the idea that a Venture Officer could go into a game store that is allowing people to break the rules and tell them to stop is laughable. Your only recourse is to tell them it's not official, which obviously won't matter to the people breaking the rules. Look I'd rather see people stop playing then break the rules, but this idea that Vo's could just not allow it is extremely laughable. ![]()

But being willing to have 1e coexist with 2e says they'd rather compete with themselves than have people leave for a competitor's product. Except you can still play and download the LFR scenarios and I also know quite a few people that played Living Greyhawk after that ended. They just stopped making new content. The same way Paizo will stop making new content for 1e PFS by July 2019. The only difference is that Paizo will still let you report scenarios, and I assume Wizards doesn't anymore [Though I know they could for LFR a few years ago, even after AL's launch.] That's not saying that they want to coexist, that's just admitting the fact that people can still play games even if a company stops printing more books. Nothing in the FAQ or announcement made it seems like Paizo will still be making 1e PFS boons for conventions for after July 2019, or releasing new guides, or putting anymore resources into it. ![]()

Swap out the parchment with the image for the real thing and I walk away with the certificate and the clerk knowing they put it back where it belonged. That is one of the worst plans I've ever heard. Silent Image is Verbal and Somatic, and while you can move it around you can't change what it looks like after you cast it. So you would have needed to cast it after seeing the paper work. And then you'd have to take a -20 for trying to sleight of hand as a move action, because your standard is concentrating on the spell. That means you'd need to roll a 40 for you to be able to lift the small object off the person. Plus this official would get a Perception check to notice what you did against your roll. So even if you fail you're most likely getting caught because of the -20 to your roll. Which means that most likely your group would at least not get time alone in the room, and potential would have the guards called on them. So, maybe the GM decided that it was better to not derail the scenario for the other players and ruin their fun by letting you do your idea. ![]()

Hell even Adventurer's League needed permission from PAX to be able to use Kickstarter to afford to run events there, and that almost didn't fund. It is GM's discretion as per the rules in the core rule book about what forms can use what abilities. It should not be used to debuff a character build that needs to be fixed by an errata team. But a GM could say that Snake Style doesn't work as a hummingbird because snake style says that the users hold their hands together to mimic the heads of a snake and that hummingbirds don't have hands or snake heads, and that using wings in that way would preclude the hummingbird flying. But a GM doing that should allow crane style because that form tries to mimic wings. Again though a gm shouldn't enforce these rules as a way to hurt the character using an item the gm deems overpowered, they should really believe it and apply the same rules to other people that change forms as well. ![]()
![]() One of the things to remember when looking at stuff that you want to be included is the lore. Dragoon weapons are mentioned to be only found in use by members of the Cruel Musketeer faction and they are the only people who know how to make them or use the feats in that section. It is very possible that the rarity mentioned in the lore may prevent their inclusion in the Organized Play. Also I'm not sure what Queen they were meant to serve as their lore seems to not be Golarion specific. ![]()

Having to write every players PFS number would be far worse and would substantially increase the time it takes for the prize table at Gen Con, and other conventions to get it's job done. ![]()

![]() I personally wouldn't penalize people failing to aid another on a diplomacy effect, and rarely do I enforce the rule that players need to be able to achieve success on their own to aid another when using diplomacy checks. A lot of times the Diplomacy DC needs Aid Another in order for the PC's to be reasonably successful without a diplomacy expert. And preventing players from aiding another in a social situation can prevent players from speaking up at the table. I do normally require the people aiding another to say something whether it's in character or just a summary of what they are trying to say to help. ![]()

Look I understand your point of view about the treatment of other animals by humans. But like you said society is speciesist and the majority of people feel that treating people like animals is wrong. Now you seem like a good person with a good heart who is very passionate about the causes you support. I admire that. The issue is that PFS isn't about one player having a teachable moment for six other people sitting around the table. It's a time for people to relax and enjoy a game. Campaign leadership has decided that since slavery is evil in Golarion that evil should not be represented in game by having players engage in selling and buying slaves outside the scope of the scenario. In addition having a group of people sitting around the table talking about enslaving people and buying slaves is very bad PR to casual players and non-gamers that happen by. And feels morally wrong to myself personally and to others. In addition your example of a getting a dowry for a wife doesn't require the purchase of a slave. You can just write Dowry on your ITS with the money you spent and have the same effect without forcing a slave to marry your character. Slave NPC had no in game effect anyway. Also you could just have the boy be a worker on your farmstead who you support and take care who was once a criminal but your character is educating him and helping him find his way in the world. It says more for a Paladin to have a person who isn't chained up and is willing to change then one he has to force to do it. As that would have the same mechanical effect in game you should have no problem. You could even tell people that your farmstead is unfenced and that you let your livestock choose whether to graze from your fields or wander away. And that you care for them as a herdsmen in order to support them like other paladins protect cities and settlements because animals are just as alive as humans and deserve the same level of protection. You could tell the same story and be still be teachable when people are ok with it, without showing the hypocrisy, but by be an example against it. Sorry I'm a bit rambly in the morning. ![]()

![]() Some of the things I'd like to see with StarFinder are... Fractional BAB system. This would be a bump to multiclassing which seems more fitting in a space faring adventure where everyone needs to know something about everything. Core Rules based equipment modification system. I'd like to see a simple system on gear modification akin to the one used in Star War SAGA. Customizing equipment helps players get attached to gear and could be a good substitute for magical items which I'd like to see more as artifacts then common. More standard attacks then full attacks. I'd like to see feats encourage moving around to find cover and taking one shot rather then multiples in a round. This means feats like Rapid Shot should be changed to be more Vital Strike like and that Cover bonuses to AC and abilities granting dodge bonuses should be more prominent then armor bonuses. Mecha. Heavy Weapons. One of my favorite things in Star Wars stuff is a full armored mando with a repeating blaster, I'd like that to be a viable build. Not broken, but viable. Grenades. I'd like to see a feat chain that allows people to make grenades bounce before exploding after they hit the ground. Or let's it roll to get a few more squares. Or even feats that allow more control on the random direction die. Mecha. A class that is kinda shadowrun rigger-like with the ability to control turrets or robotic companions. A blaster class that more 3.5 D&D warlock with a techno vibe. Re-Done Chase Scene Mechanics that are more open ended and group based rather then individual. I'd like to see players who blow up the door when they go through not have to see the players after them still have to beat the door DC. An Escape From... scene system. Like a chase scene but to avoid getting caught in the exploding ship, or the black whole, or that skeevy dude who hangs out in front StarHortens coffee... A bartering system that is more then just opposed diplomacy rolls. For example diplomacy could get you a 5% discount, but using diplomacy with a blackmail info (knowledge: local) plus bringing your street tough with you (intimidate) could be more. Of course failing that blackmail check could make things more interesting, and should. Flumphs. Techno Flumphs. Mecha. I want Starship Trooper (book) type suits of armor! Space Obstacle course scenes. Who doesn't like having to dodge asteroids! Pan Galactic Gargle Blasters and Gin and Tonics. A lucky base system that allows for crazy luck opportunities to avoid death, or achieve great success. Maybe a permanent sore that depletes as you use it and can only be regain when accomplishing amazing feats without luck? That's my spitballing for now, if I think of more I'll post again. ![]()

For instance if I'm a player and I'm wearing my VC shirt I can't give a player that reroll (especially not with my 4 stars), because I'm not going to give him my shirt. But if I have my shirt and my character folio, I will give the player my folio for use during the session so that they can use it to get their own reroll. ![]() So my one thought on this is the retailer space not being able to be used for a convention and that it must be a gameday. My local flagship store for PFS holds two three day PFS conventions and and two 15 table one day PFS conventions a year. By previous rule these all counted as conventions for support. Now all of them are gamedays. Our fall event Unseelie Court tends to run equal or more tables then the two Fall Conventions that are within a few hours of Philly. And our Spring one Seelie Court while smaller than Unseelie is also in the same ball park as the spring conventions. The Winter and Summer 15 table, one day cons we were turning into charity conventions. Which this past Winter we did Aid Another to benefit charity and I think it was a great starting point. Now the problem is that since we have to compete with other gamedays rather than conventions we need to adjust our schedule or rent space. Renting space is a problem in Philly because the prices are a bit prohibitive in places with lower crime rates. So we're going to have to change our schedule. Which means that most likely the charity events are going to have to get dropped. But that still leaves us with two gamedays for my region, one that I've been told will be supported Seelie Court 2016 and Unseelie 2016 which we don't know about and then I have to worry about 2017... And every time I get support that means a place like BNW's location isn't getting it. Because we're in the same RVC region I believe. In the end though I trust my RVC. I trust Tonya. So I trust that things will work out for the better. I'm just a bit anxious and stressed out because I don't like failing my community and if I can't get them the support they want, when I use to be able to, I feel like I'm failing them. And that kinda sucks. ![]()
