What Being A Pathfinder is All About

5/5

Note: Player Review, have not GM'ed this yet.

This scenario seems to be more of what Pathfinder should be like. It's a investigative mission that demands skill, problem-solving, teamwork, strategy, and most notably, respect. There is certainly an option to treat this scenario like a smash-and-grab race to loot a Taldan governmental library, breaking open chests, knocking out blind guardians, shattering glass cases and the like, but the scenario seemed to note every action.

Walk through an area that hadn't been used lately? You glance back at a set of dusty footsteps following you.

You solved a puzzle, great! But did you remember to return the tools back to their resting places?

It kind of reminded me of Ghennett Manor, in that the party was doing NO looting- -literally stealing nothing but information. It was really nice to see in a society that is usually seen as brutish larcenists.

Our team split into 2 small groups, (one 4 PCs, one 3PCs + 1 Eidolon) and did their best to canvas the area in half the time, which was a little trying on trust, but seemed to work great. We had an extremely patient (and prepared!) GM, so that probably helped a lot.

A big thumbs-up and a bigger thank you to Kyle Elliot for this- -this table was certainly the highlight of the recent local convention.

Five Stars, and more avoidable combats in the future, please!
