"Wow, if you like bats so much, why don't you marry them?"
"John, that's the understatement of the century. You've been thrown out of temples to Shelyn before, because they were afraid that your piano playing would incite a riot."
"...I still don't follow."
Jackie stands for a minute in stunned silence. "Guys we should find his lair. Can we...can we go find his lair now? I want to find treasure and princesses."
"Wait! If you're a dragon, then where's your princess? Don't dragons always have a princess that they captured?"
I should talk to my brother more often...he'd be amazed to hear about this little dragon kid.
"Could be his brother. Mine's an orc."
"Always been a bit of a wanderer, I've done some mercenary work in the past. Met this lug" she gestures to John "a while back, we've bumped into each other a few times since. He says it's the 'will of Shelyn' or somethin like that."
Jackie's eyes light up. "One condition-we get to eat the boars after we kill them."
Jackie rolls out of bed, gets dressed quickly, then goes downstairs to order a drink. She nods to John and Saltjack as she sees them.
Jackie looks at a nearby piece of salmon, sitting relatively untouched on a nearby table with just a few specs of blood on it. Shrugging, she grabs it, wipes most of the blood off, and digs in. "Erm...he does realize that there were more of us here besides just her, right? I mean, I split a guy in half back there, that was kinda cool."
Jackie swings again at goblindum, making it look even sillier as the two just sort of wave their weapons at each other.
"We can switch if you want to, mine keeps missing..."
Jackie swings her scimitar at the goblin she's in front of.
Jackie moves up to a goblin as well, while looking contemptuously at the cowering noble. "Get up and fight, you pansy! If you're gonna die today, at least take a few of the bastards with ya!"
"Right behind you!" Jackie takes off, just barely trailing John.
Jackie goes up to the singing goblin and swings.
"I DON'T LIKE YOUR SINGING VOICE OR YOUR FIRE BUT ESPECIALLY NOT YOUR SINGING!!!"
"Okay, what is it with little kids these days and playing with fire?" Jackie goes up to the goblin that tried to burn Jacquelin and slashes at him with her scimitar.
"Burning people isn't nice! Now sit there and think about what you've done!"
Jackie draws her sword, bringing her shield up to bear as she does so.
"I think they prefer to be called kobolds, guys!"
"Well, the trick is to season the salmon with the curry powder and some salt about half an hour or so before you cook it-keep it in a colder place or wrap it up tight and put it into the stream. It's not completely ideal, but the water should be cool enough to let it keep for that long, as long as it's wrapped tightly enough so that the curry doesn't dissolve. It allows the flavorings of the salmon and the curry to really mix, resulting in a blend that doesn't overpower the taste of the salmon, while still allowing for that special something that comes with curry without being too bland. I feel like some greens would be wonderful with this too-I'm thinking maybe slightly wilted spinach and steamed chickpeas, topped with maybe a bit of mint? Not sure, I'd have to try that sometime." Jackie drains her mug in a single long gulp, then smacks it back down on the table with an enormous belch.
"AHHH! AHH! AHHHHH! GETITOFFME!" Jackie flails around, trying to escape from the butterfly that landed on her shoulder.
"I think I saw a bell on top of the church over there, should we go ring that one for you?"
"So...he's not a midget?"
"I don't know, I always thought midgets had feathers, not scales. This town seems to have some really good painters. Let's ask him, maybe he'll know." Jackie walks up to the small figure. "Excuse me, I'm having a in-tlek-chal conversation with my friend here. Are you a little kid who's been painted to look like a lizard or a midget in a suit?"
"Darn. I wonder who did that little kid's paint then? He looks like a lizard. You think he should be playing with fire, though? Seems dangerous."
Jackie strolls across the pavilion, gnawing on a piece of meat on a stick she'd gotten from a vendor. Man, this place is great! It's like my birthday or something...wait, when is my birthday again? I should make a cake." Lost in thought, she doesn't notice that she was walking through a crowd of people who were more or less throwing themselves out of her path to avoid knocking into her, with the exception of someone wearing similar armor looking similarly confused, heading directly towards her. WHAM! The collision knocks Jackie out of her thoughts. "Oh, sorry Mr. Cat-person, didn't see you there! Wait...John? Is that you? Wow, I didn't recognize you! That's one really good disguise, when'd you get so good at that?!"
