I'd vote for it if I got in, we'd presumably be using the samurai code correct? EDIT: I was looking at Honor systems and I figured, hey, why not add the Exploration rules as well? They're relatively simple, mesh perfectly with kingdom building and sandbox adventures, and the PCs don't have to use them if they don't want to! Just a thought. Hey, I said it was just an idea! HEY, BACK OFF WITH THE PITCHFORKS! AAAA! AAAA! OH, THE HUMANITY!
Edited Background:
Illamin was born in a large, slightly mor rural settlement in southern Minkai. His birth was cause for celebration, as the distant addition by an angel to his family's bloodline was evident in him. He was not quite human, but the no one begrudged him this, as even in his youth he was strong, charming, and honorable, if a bit clumsy to this day. His family was not real nobility per se, but there was none in the village and the family was very respected and had honor. As per the family motto, "Honor as you make it," but the Akemichi family valued it very much. In his adolescence, however, he began to speak in strange languages only the most learned in the town could understand, and minor mishaps occurred all around him.
It was soon determined that an old family curse by the gods and spirits of the moon had affected him from birth, but as such he had been given powerful divine gifts in return. He became more feared, and people began to grow suspicious of him, only a few sticking to his side. The samurai who occasionally came to the settlement to inspect it heard and questioned Illamin. Illamin disliked these samurai, for though he was as honorable as the next man if not slightly more so, he found the samurai a bit too focused on their honor, over looking the other things. Namely: Life, and sometimes respect for other living things. Instead of being strung up or punished, someone higher up the ladder had decided to harness his power, and Illamin was given a charter detailing Lord Huang's will. Five years later, at age twenty-two, Illamin came of age in his community, and, as a journeyman priest and adventurer, found himself in Huang's court awaiting his departure for the unknown lands. Part of his curse led to his resentment of Tsukiyo, the moon god, but another part of him was in deep awe and gratitude. He came to respect the god who granted him his powers, eventually joining Tsukiyo's church. This was also brought about by a narrow escape from a rockslide when he was nine, as he was rescued by a wandering Tsukiyan priest. To this day, he maintains his deitiy's code, wears jade jewelry, and fights with his blessed longspear. Without the moon god and religion, Illamin would not be nearly the same this day: Dead, for example. Illamin's personal goal is, when he attempts to bring civilization to the unknown, to make a system reform. In these lands, he would have honor among all classes and he would have nobility, and it would not be as feudal a system as his old home. He would also like every member of the new society to be trained in a useful practice, be it mundane or magical, and have their skills implemented within the community. He would also prefer to convert whatever evils he may find instead of killing them, if possible (excluding inherently evil creatures such as fiends and evil undead). And, because I have some spare time...An appearance section: Illamin is five feet, four inches tall, rather short for a Tien but shorter still compared to those of the Inner Sea. Like most Tien, his hair is pure white, but if one looks closely they can see premature gray streaks. His eyes are hazel and less slanted than those of his people. He is still not fully human, though, and his eyes sometimes change to sky blue, or jade green. He emanates an aura of simple, quiet majesty, and wears a deep red-and-gray Tien robe over his chain shirt.

Personality: Illamin is an independent person by nature, but knows the value of teamwork and feels that those too proud to ask for help are fools. He is kind to whoever he meets until he feels he should not be, and maintains a cool and amiable demeanor around nobles and people who are "above" him. Even when he thinks their orders are stupid, he never disobeys them and never tells others if he has differentiating opinions. Toward peasants and those seeking aid, he helps in whatever way he can and rarely asks for something in return unless the person insists, as a matter of honor.

While I'm here, how do you feel about Divine Protection from the ACG? I totally understand if you don't like it. As for Kingdom roles, I'd make a good Ruler with my Charisma, but I'd prefer not to be one, it would go against my character's values. My top choices are Councilor, General, or High Priest. |
