Quote:
The Druid Bear person, Jacob Bruin, brought some troops. "This is everyone from the forests who was spoiling for a fight. This awakened Owlbear Gordo, is a barbarian with a huge fallen tree limb. A couple of male unicorns, you can't pronounce their names. A Shambling Mound, a treant I think has bugs, and this pack of dire wolves. I told them only to attack the dragony looking enemy so as long as your people stay out of Gordo's way while he's raging, they should be fine."

They were in Freeland preparing to attack!

Hun-Tar (riding a unicorn) led thousands of Human warriors holding the Spear of Humanity west across the Hunter Hills into Hukara. Beside him was the Druid Jacob Bruin, the Owlbear Gordo, and others. They attacked at midnight, because the Drakonites were expecting them at dawn.

The Freemen Army attacked swiftly and without mercy. Hun-Tar discovered he could throw the spear and it would return to his hand. Gordo killed hundreds of Drakonites himself. As they attacked each Drakonite outpost, the enslaved humans there rose up and joined his army. They used whatever weapons they could find. It took about a week before the Freemen drove the Drakonites east across the Hutan River back to Drakonus. Hukara was free!

Hun-Tar then had to make a difficult decision. The Drakonite King, Dra-Khan, still had King Bo-Rak hostage. Should he take his army and go free him, or stay and defend his homeland. He took a day to pray about it with his god, Hutan, and he received an answer:

Do not take your army into Drakonus. You will be outnumbered and defeated. Take the Spear of Humanity and stick it into the Hutan River, and then pray in my name. You have done well, my son.

Hun-Tar did as he was commanded. In front of his army he prayed to his god Hutan, and then he stuck the spear into the Hutan River. He heard a loud rumbling, and the earth beneath his feet began to shake. The river began to cut into the earth itself, until a large canyon divided both nations! The Drakonites would not be able to attack them again easily. It would give them time to rebuild.

Jacob Bruin said, "Behold, free people of Hukara, the god Hutan has shown us a miracle through his son Hun-Tar. I say unto you that he is your new king. All hail Hun-Tar!"

The people hailed Hun-Tar, and he had no choice but to accept it. He was torn, because across the canyon in Drakonus the former king Bo-Rak was still in chains. However, his god and people had spoken.

Hutan watched from Above as the great human warrior Hun-Tar gathered together an army in the Freeland. He prepared to cross the Hunter Hills into Hukara to free his homeland from the evil Draknites. His hope was to drive them back across the Hutan River to their nation Drakonus.

However, Hun-Tar knew it was hopeless. He had a few thousand warriors carrying spears and bows verus a much larger army of heavily armed Drakonites. Despite that, he was attacking anyway. Hutan felt sorry for him, so he threw down a gift to him. Hun-Tar was amazed when he saw the Spear of Humanity land at his feet.

Take this weapon, my son, and fight in my name! Free your people, for they were made in my name!

Hutan, who was in the realm called the Happy Hunting Ground, watched as the humans of Hukara suffered enslavement under the Drakonites, who are no longer human. Those that escaped crossed the Hunar Hills to another land. The Hukaran King Bo-Rak was imprisoned by King Dra-Khan, who was more dragon now than human. He prayed to his dragon goddess, and she granted him many powers. Hutan could not directly interfere, but he could inspire others to help.

The humans who escaped east across the Hunar Hills called their new domain Freeland. Some wanted to remain in this new land, but others wanted to build an army to reclaim Hukara from Drakonus. There was a mighty warrior called Hun-Tar who wanted to fight back. He had slain many of the Drakonites himself, but he needed help. He needed powerful weapons, armor, and an army to lead.

From the Happy Hunting Ground, Hutan looked down on his people. In the Human Kingdoms of Drakonus and Hukara, things are not going well. The Drakonites invaded Hukara and easily defeated them. The Hukaran King Bo-Rak was taken prisoner. The Drakonite King Dar-Khan had become increasingly dragonish. His people started looking like a mix of dragon and human. He never leaves his palace, they say, and he prays to an unnamed dragon goddess.
Refugees from Hukara are migrating east, since Drakonus is west, and making new homes in the eastern planes.

Hutan felt the change coming, and he was ready for it. Before he left, however, he made sure to plant some more humans around the world. As he did before on Primeva, he took humans from the distant past of Earth and placed them on remote parts of Beriya.

He placed some in the Far North, Far East, Far South, and finally in the Far West. Humans do one thing better than all other races: adapt. They can adapt to whatever environment they find themselves in, just as long as there is enough oxygen and its not extremely hot/cold. Satisfied that there were enough humans were on Beriya to continue the species for all time, he left.

He found the perfect realm for him among the Far Realms, and he called it the Happy Hunting Ground. Here he could hunt forever, and call human (and other) souls to him to join him on his hunts. Hutan started to dance and hunt...

Because Merlyn never made it to the kingdom of Drakonus, King Dar-Khan ordered the invasion of Hukara. He no longer spoke with Jormungand. He had been speaking to a primal, dragon goddess that he would not name. His Drakonites swarmed over the Hukarans, who were no match for them. They had begun to take on dragon-like features.
At the capital of Hu-Nar, Bo-Rak vowed to fight to the death. However, he relented after the Drakonites threatened to slaughter all of the children until he surrended. Bo-Rak did surrender, but he still held the Spear of Humanity. The Drakonite's General tried to grab it
from him, but it burned his hand.
"Only Humans can hold this spear; you are no longer Human," Bo-Rak said.
"By order of King Dra-Khan, you are to be taken prisoner! Your people will become our slaves! Now give throw down that spear!"
Bo-Rak lifted up the Spear of Humanity, and he threw it into the sky. It flew up into the clouds and disappeared from view.
"I threw it down. Now honor your promise and take me to King Dar-Khan!"

It was Jormungand who flew Bo-Rak and Hu-Nar back to the Human plains. They were now declared Kings by the god of light. Leafar also gave them gifts before they left in a wooden chest. They each had golden crowns and an undisclosed amount of eeraw gold. All true kings need some gold, Leafar reasoned, and in the future it would be valuable.

Bo-Rak went back to the city named after his father, Hu-Nar, and he told his people that he was their king. The fact that he flew into the town riding on a dragon, and he carried the Spear of Humanity, helped convince them. He decided to name the new kingdom Hukara, and he set about to rule in honor of his father Hu-Nar.

Dar-Khan went to the western part of the plains, back to the shrine of the dead dragon, riding a real dragon. He did not have to convince them that he was their king. He orders his people to build a capital city around the dragon shrine and to name it after his dragon friend Jormungand.
"You will always be welcomed here, my friend. All dragons will be welcomed here," Dar-Khan said.

Latet on his people asked King Dar-Khan what would he name their new kingdom.
"I will name it Drakonis," he commanded.

The Battle of Lighton had ended, and so had the First War. Bo-Rak walked through the remains of the Destroyer and his minions. He saw white robbed figures take away Alsokar and...Dar-Khan. He did not know where the dragon Jormungand was. The god Leafar was not seen. Bo-Rak assumed he had returned to normal. Among the bodies he was looking for something very important.

Finally he found it. There, among the bodies of the dead, he found it. It was the giantic head of the Destroyer, and the Spear of Humanity was stuck in his forehead. He was not afraid. Whatever evil that controlled the Destroyer was gone now. He climbed on top of the head and pulled out the spear. Now he could go home.

"Master Bo-Rak! We need you to come with us!"

Bo-Rak looked down to see three men in white armor covered in black ash.

"Leafar, the god of light, has requested your presense. We were commanded to escort you to him at once. Do you require assistance walking?"

Bo-Rak saw fear on their faces. It was because he was standing on the Destroyer's head. He jumped down in front of them. The three men looked tired.

"No, I can walk. Lead me to your god."

Bo-Rak survived the crashing of the Citadel, thanks to his friend Probe, who shielded him with his body. However, his machine friend's body was destroyed in the fall. Wanting to avenge the "death" of Probe, Bo-Rak takes the Spear of Humanity, and hurls it at the Destroyer. It strikes him in the center of his forehead, and the Destroyer screams in agony...but he stays on his feet still alive...

And so it whispers to the dragon. It whispers of things that can not quite be understood by the mind, and us requires one to tap into their soul and essence to comprehend them on an emotional level.

Slowly, the dragon began to feel things around it. It began to feel the sparks of life in creatures all around, it began to feel the fluctuations of the Ley Lines with each new word from the Tree, hearing and understanding more of what it says through these new qualities. Soon, it would find itself whispering as well, the world itself reacting to this strange unintelligible tongue. Then, it would begin to sing as the very weaving a of the world begin to shift about, creating a music with their rhythmic motions.

Slowly, the Earth's child began to calm, it's growling stifling to a low whine and the burning red in its eyes receding to a soft silver glow. The twitching of its oil-like body stabilized, returning the god to the mysterious, yet strangely pleasant form.

"Nuaaah~..." - it said, looking up at the dragon in the sky.

Jormungand opens its eyes. It looks around, spotting the humans and elves huddling by the great Tree.

It looks down at the mad silver—the dragon of crystals and worms spasms beneath, tearing into trees with wild abandon. Its entire not-dead, not-undead existence is suffering, and it fills Jormungand with rage for its wayward brother.

The silver begins to glow as Jorm

Jormungand continues staring as it begins flying, carefully guiding the World's Child away. The undead around the mad wyrm begin to back away.

The silver gives a piercing shriek—a shriek of rage and fury. This shriek is not heard by elf or man, but by worm and crystal drake.

Throughout the world, Crystal Drakes begin shattering. Puss worms begin dying. The silver dragon shrieks, its entropic nature finally winning out once more.

At last, the...

"Yes, I am ready," Dar-Khan said. He then used his knife to sharpened the point of his magical staff to a very, sharp point...

Dar-Khan hears the dragon and obeys. He leaps off the dragon's back and falls through several tree limbs, breaking his fall. In his hand is the Staff of Stealthy Movement, but it has other magical qualities unknown to him at this moment.

"Humans! Elves! Hear my words! We must retreat to the World Tree! Leave the dead where they are! It is our only hope for survival. Follow me my brothers and sisters!"

Dar-Khan runs for the Great Tree, hoping they will follow him.

"You are right, dragon, too many have been hurt because of me. Slay me now, or take me to the Destroyer. I will die defending my people."

The dragon relaxes, only slightly.

~Climb aboard. We will first go to attempt to calm the World's Child; even now, he rips into men and elves alike in a frenzy. But if fortune favors us, we will then fly to Lighton to face the Destroyer. I am only sorry that I have no weapon to give you. You may need one.~

Meanwhile, the platinum wyrm that saved Alsokar finds itself resting in a crevice in the ice. One of its seven necks has been broken, and its form is bloodied. Where blood has fallen, the snow melts, and small plants sprout up.

The dragon picks itself up and looks around. Alsokar is gone, as is the sword. All is converging at Lighton, but the dragon knows that that place is off-limits for it. There is only one thing left to do.

The platinum dragon takes wing, roaring as it flies ahead of the Destroyer. It soars straight at the titanic monstrosity, breathing seven lines of molten metal at the Destroyer's eyes.

Dar-Khan agrees to climb abroad the Platinum Dragon. His weapons are the Staff of Stealthy Movement and a jagged shard of the World Tree. He leaves the cursed Hammer of Carlok behind.

After so many millennia, at last, the platinum dragon in the roots of the World Tree awakens.

In the wyrm's dreams, the World Tree has spoken to it. Though originally the dragon came here only for sanctuary, it now understands the terrible destruction that it must help avert. Some of this, the dragon knows, is its fault. This fills the platinum dragon with sorrow.

It looks up at Dar-Khan, eyes welling with tears. Its voice is calm, quieting the words of Carlock in Dar-Khan's mind. ~Mighty hunter. In your lust for glory, you have led your people into slaughter. Even now, the voice of the harbinger of total annihilation rings in your head, telling you there must be more. But hear me, Dar-Khan. Man and dragon started this carnage, and man and dragon must help to end it. Fight the foul voice. Fight or die.~

It was truly a devastating attack, for fire is a weapon that inspires the greatest fear in elves, however the damage has been done. By the time Dar-Khan managed to complete his prayer, the elven arrows had spilled a great deal of blood, cutting the humans down to size.

The elven shield wall faltered as they were forced back by the human's barbaric charge, eventually shattering their defenses and forcing each Elven warrior into individual combat, in which they were slowly destined to lose against the human barbarians.

...

"AHOOOOOOOOO...!" - roared a mighty horn in the distance, somewhere from within the woods that have yet to be set on fire. The sound of flapping wings, powerful breaths me hundreds of paws tapping the ground sounded, causing the barbarians to give pause and consider this terrible premonition of danger approaching them.

From the forest, came a new army. Bears, wolves, cougars, birds of all kinds charged in a massive swarm upon what was left of the surviving human hunters, roaring in fury, somehow entirely ignoring their fear of fire.

Seeing their sylvan friends come to aid, the elven army's morale uplifted. The humans underestimated the elves, for their strongest weapon is the force of their emotion. Burning with VENGEANCE for their fallen brothers and sisters, a mighty warcry echoed throughout the forest, reminiscent more of a song chanted by the Elven defenders as they grouped up and charged the remaining humans, blades in the air.

------------

Dar-Khan would see much the same as the One in Twenty, albeit his lack of magical senses wouldn't alert him of being watched by someone. He would be entirely ignorant of that.

Dar-Khan ignores the cries of his human companions, because the magic of the hammer has driven him quite mad. He is headed for the Great Tree (using his truly wondrous "Staff of Stealthy Movement" , and he is going to carve out a new spear for himself with this amazing, new hammer (and the knife he always carries). This time he giggles...

Dar-Khan then sees a giant, serpent-like, seven headed monster ahead of him. It is also headed for the Great Tree.
"No! That big tree is mine! I need to make a new spear! ITS MINE!!!!!!!!!!"

He raises his hammer and brings out every spell imaginable. With magical energy surrounding him, Dar-Khan attacks the monsterousity...

A quiet plea of desperation, conffounding strings whirling, the hint of memory from before mind...

I touch Dar-khan's mind and offer this:

"I seem to recall a TRUE hunter can make his own tools, and there is an interesting piece of material ahead of you for crafting weapons of hunt or war."

The moment he accepts, a craftsman's metallican hammer appears in his hand. I may not be a master of puppets, but I know when to pull a string.

The metal rings, the song plays on.

The hammer makes stuff. Basically fabricate spell in a can plus Craft magic feats at cost of sanity. Mad science! Oof, platelet donation makes my cheeks tingly.

Somehow, Dar-Khan understands. He is a barbarian human, but he is also highly intelligent, an the hammer he holds has opened his mind.

He points the hammer at a tree and a fireball shoots out, striking the tree and setting it on fire. He shoots many more fireballs, and soon the forest around them is ablaze.

"Humans! Hunters! Warriors! The time has come to take what is rightfully yours!" Dar-Khan shouted. "Attack these Elven monsters who have taken your land! ATTACK!"

Inspiring a barbaric rage within the humans around him, they attack in mass. The Elven archers are still startled by trying to put out the fires, because they have never dealt with such as attack before. They have axes and they chop down the trees. They throw spears at burning Elves. They also have bows themselves, and they shot burning arrows in the back of Elves as they flee.

Dar-Khan sees it all and he laughs. Yes, he laughs for a long time. He is able to use the hammer to quickly create a crude "Staff of Stealthy Movement", and he runs through the forests practically invisible. He knows where he must go, and it is hard to stop laughing now. He has made weapons before from wood, and up ahead is a very, very, BIG tree...

The Elven ambassador's friendly smile turned to a cold, disappointed glare within a moment, seeking to provide the impression that the humans must have done something fundamentally wrong. Two elves clad in scalemail and wielding tall, lean shields with beautiful curved swords moved up to cover him from arrows as his hand signaled a quick and efficient order to attack. Within a moment, a thousand arrows would fly at the humans from all directions, their accuracy deadly and keen, fueled by the Elven senses.

They would be at a disadvantage against the more physically brute humans, but at a game of archery, few races could win against them. The small elven shield wall began to move backward, unhindered by the thick growth for this was indeed their home. For the humans, however, this may be quite the difficult terrain.

The One in Twenty, disguised as a simple hare would soon before him see the colossal World Tree, impaled with a sharp obsidian shard. The sylvan giant seemed to be in great agony, but slowly its power returned. Very slowly.

Around it, approximately every few hundred feet stood men in short robes patterned with leaves, their faces covered in hoods, chanting something in a strange, mesmerizing language that was not Elven. The very Ley Lines bent as primal natural energies surged around through this place, causing all kinds of weather anomalies. Guarding each Druid was a squad of five Elven soldiers clad in scale mail and wielding long curved blades, bows and some were equipped with shields to boot.

However, the hare would feel something to be odd. Out of the ordinary. As if something was woken with this brilliant display of the mystical Druidic arts. Something terroble, yet wonderful. And it was watching the One in Twenty.

The Humans are no match for the Elven Archers. They have spears, so they throw them and then retreat. The Humans are not used to fighting against such skilled opponents. Dar-Khan, the so called Dragon Cult Warrior, knows he has no special abilities; his cult gained no powers from the dead dragon.

However, he also knows that he can't turn back now. Not knowing what else to do, Dar-Khan begins to pray to any god that will listen to him, because he knows that Hutan no longer answers his prayers...

It considers taking wyrm form and forcing them towards the forest, but even now their proximity begins to make the disguised dragon a little nauseous. It's not making the dragon loathe itself, that is to say. It's just making it loathe the gets even more.

Frustrated, the One in Twenty returns to the forest. It removes its get suit before coming too close, remolding it into a rabbit's shape and putting it back on.

The gray-furred hare springs through the Forest of Beginnings, heading straight for the World Tree.

Meanwhile, the humans begin to grow impatient. They came here to hunt, not to talk. Long has this forest of riches been barred to them, and even now they see the eyes in the trees ready to shoot them down. This angers them even more—as if they would be the prey in any scenario!

Again, Hutan's call.

The Humans, led by a dragon cult warrior called Dar-Khan (and other humans), decide to enter the forests of unrivaled riches, and they will kill anyone who gets in their way!

"Hutan is not the only god Humans can prayer to!" Dar-Khan tells the other human hunters!
"There are other gods among the stars! Even now a god walks the land towards us! Let us take what we can now before it arrives and destroys us too!"

They advance and the eyes in the trees make their move...

Bo-Rak and Probe emerge from the twisting caverns beneath the Lightscar just in time to see the Obsidion Mountain explode and the Destroyer set free. Even this far south they feel his footsteps. Bo-Rak holds the Spear of Humanity. Probe is holding the Sword of Destruction. He makes a fateful decision. His god Hutan has told him about the Destroyer.

"Probe, take us to the Destroyer as fast as you can!"

"AFFIRMATIVE!" Probe said.

Probe Omega Two easily converted to flight mode and he started flying them both north...

The Human Hunter Bo-Rak now has a companion on his quest, Probe Omega Two. Bo-Rak simply calls him Probe. Probe has taken a humanoid form, so he looks like a very tall, metallic man. To go through the caverns Probe has to duck a lot, but its okay. They journey this way for days, Bo-Rak talking the whole time about his father, Hu-Nar, and how he through the Spear of Humanity that shatters the Amulet of Annihilation; Probe just says "AFFIRMATIVE".

Finally, Bo-Rak senses that they are near. They go into a large, damp, moss covered cavern, and they see an unusual sight.

First, Bo-Rak sees the Spear of Humanity! It looks the same! Completely unchanged! Next to the spear is the skeleton of a dead Dogarr male. It is Vorrak, the former high priest of Dogan. Around his neck is the shattered Amulet of Annihilation still connected to it's chain. In the hand of the skeleton is the Sword of Destruction, which is grey in color.

Bo-Rak reaches out to take the Spear of Humanity. It feels warm in his hand. He then tries to get the amulet, but Probe stops him.

"NEGATIVE! MY HANDS TELL ME TOUCHING THE OBJECT WILL CAUSE HUMAN DEATH.

I WILL RETRIVE OBJECT FOR HUMAN."
The Probe reaches down and takes the amulet off Vorrak's neck, and he puts it into one of his compartments. He then reaches down and takes the Sword of Destruction.

"I WILL CARRY THIS WEAPON AND USE IT AS A HUMAN WOULD, IN ORDER TO APPEAR HUMAN AND NOT CAUSE UNWARRANTED FEAR RESPONSE."

Having no problem with that, Bo-Rak and Probe left the cavern, but as they left they did not notice that the skeleton of Vorrak began to move. Slowly at first, but then it stood and it's eyes burned red! Vorrak, now what others call a LICH, decided to follow them...

Analysis of unknown metallic titan is inconclusive. Energy readings and behavioral patterns suggest it is a "concept creature," bound by laws of cosmic consonance like outsiders and deities. It's trail of creation and destruction ended at a flat mesa with anomalous dimensional properties and planar overlap. Probe 1 tentative conclusion: a new god has forged a new demiplane to reside in, readings indicate anarchic bias and creation/destruction portfolios. Probe 1 controllers deemed planar incursion to be too high-risk. Probe 1 proceeding to secondary investigation; human settlements. Initial readings show low techno/magical development, engaging infiltration protocols. Omega Probe One signing off.

Probe Omega Two report: Citadel did not respond to hails, initial contact with Lightscar uneventful. Attempts to collect samples of fluid-like substance all failed. Preliminary hypothesis, fluidic aether? Communication systems disrupted by immersion in fluid as previously anticipated by handlers, probe 2 began primary descent. No further anomalies recorded during primary descent, but post-action analysis suggests stealth systems were temporarily disabled and unbalanced by Lightscar's "otherworldly energies". Cavern network extensive, numerous aberrant lifeforms sighted, mostly avoided. Minor altercations, probe 2 casing undamaged. Stealth system discovered to be non-functional within fluid, adjustments to my tactics were made.

Exiting fluid, contact was re-established between Probe 2 and home base, orders received to continue mapping area. As analysis continued, signs of a human were discovered. I followed this foreign explorer, curious as to what was going on. Activation of unbalanced stealth protocols resulted in immediate discovery by my quarry. Uncategorized emotion experienced, I felt embarrassed at my mis-step, then afraid of the alien feelings. I presume this growing sense of sapience and will is a side-effect of exposure to lightscar energies.

Probe Omega Two, the Human Bo-Rak has been told you are not a threat. You may accompany him to the resting place of the Spear, and other items of interest. He will need your help dealing with them. Did someone say hunt? Oh yes, I will hunt them, but I will send my Human Hunters after the seven Platinum dragons. However, my Humans have no concept of wealth. They will enjoy skinning the dragon hides and sharing it with the tribe. There are many Human tribes now. I failed to mention that I gave them horses. Now they ride across the vast plains looking for game, including the dragons and others creatures. They will be ready for the First War too.
I have crafted them divine spears and bow & arrows that can hit any target. I have taught them to make powerful weapons and how to use them. Humans are very adaptable.

I was hunting a very elusive creature across the Multiverse. Never before had I hunted a beast such as this! However, quite unlike the god of the hunt as I have been called, I became lost and found myself here. It was a world newly made and mostly void, but I found a beautiful green, hilly plain filled with creatures and beasts to hunt! I did this for a time, until I noticed other godlike beings creating races. I wanted one of my own, so I reached out into the Void, and I brought forth a tribe of beings that looked like me.

Together we hunted the vast plains, and the tribe grew and multiplied to more tribes. They liked to name the tribes after the beasts they hunted. They worshipped me as a god, and they named themselves Humans. I like the sound of that name. How long I stay here I know not. I can never stay on one world too long, because I need to hunt and roam the multiverse. Soon they will build temples to me, and I have no time to answer prayers...
