3 people marked this as a favorite.

Okay, I'm definitely going to be creating a stir...Apologies in advance! I just really love costumes and cosplay potential of the characters that I play. To me, it makes the game more awesome. I'm a huge Warcraft gamer and I enjoy seeing super-cool armor sets--my favorites are always the hotter ones.

I just want to put in a direct request for attractive and form-fitting female armor. The most awesome thing I find about being female is the fantastic cosplay outfits I get to make wear (That and being married to Sean lol). Don't be afraid of the people who hate cheesecake, you could make more conservative sets for them ;o). They don't necessarily have to be revealing to be sexy either, I could make suggestions? ;o)

Not able to get tickets to the banquet? Same here and that's okay! I'm hoping to hang out with other rejects at the Hotel's bar (and bar area...there are tables...I think). I know a couple of us will bring quick table top games in case we want to play something. Muuuwahaha!

Let's face it, that banquet lasts a while and I know I'm going to be at PaizoCon during it, so why not enjoy the down-time with friends?

Here is a link to the event I posted on facebook, but even if you don't have facebook feel free to stop by and say hi. It may only end up being me and one or two other people ...but hey, that's cool too! ;o)

Hey gamers!

I'm working hard on a new version of Amiri. We've actually been calling the new Amiri the Mark II (We love Iron Man). So, I'll be selling the old version that many of you saw last year at GenCon! If you're interested in owning this costume I'd love to discuss selling it to you! Just send me a quick email if you're interested in it: jodisturdevant@gmail.com

I will be posting this costume on ebay in a week or so. Not sure when exactly but I will update this thread as soon as I do! I just wanted to give the fans here and friends the first opportunity to get it. It will be a fair price, no worries. The outfit has I think 15 pieces entirely: 8 armor pieces (boots included in that count), criss-cross top, skirt, some accessories, the wig and so on. Whatever I have for the costume I will include. I am not planning on re-using any of the costume to make my new one. I would rather not have to throw away any of the old Amiri costume. That would break my heart! I will even place my "Jodi Lane" tags in the costume so that you can be sure it's from me!

Sizing information:
I made this to fit me, so if you saw me in person you'd get an idea but if not: 5'3" 120 lbs 34/24/36 Boots are 7.5 or 8 US. The arm pieces are also worn like sleeves, and my biceps are about 11 to 12". The leg pieces are flexible so it could fit a variety of leg sizes. Just ask if you're curious (I'm fantastic at predicting fittings...that's what I do for a living). I wont be making any alterations to this costume, but I can tell you how to do that if you buy it and want to make it fit nicer.

Hope some lucky girl gets to play Amiri this year!

Hi there:

So, I finally got around to posting this blog. I hope it works and isn't too messy...but it's there! I think you'll get the point :o). If this isn't enough for you, let me know what else you'd like to see how I made it on this costume (Makeup, wig, top/skirt, or attaching the armor to clothing).

You can pretty much use the same techniques I used for my Amiri costume on any other costume. Let me know what you think and if you make something using my tutorial, I'd love to see how it turns out!

Good luck and have fun,

Is there such a thing???

Okay, so obviously I try to be able to do everything...lol just kidding. No, actually I really love painting minis and I've started getting into sculpting too. It's something I think I could get good at. But I'm curious: what do professional sculptors (for miniatures specifically) use to sculpt? Are there certain tools that are like a "must have" if you want to sculpt? I mean, I've almost finished sculpting one female fighter miniature and I just used junky stuff to mold her, like a tooth pick and one other thing that I think isn't necessarily FOR sculpting. Let me know if you have any ideas, I guess this is something I should have asked Ron at GenCon when I got to meet him! Thanks gamers!

Also, here is a facebook album of Amiri pictures that hopefully will continually be added to!

Hello Gamers!

Since October of 2009, I've started painting miniatures the correct way with my boyfriend Sean (as if you didn't know that). He showed me, as he has many people, how to properly paint. About 10 years ago I bought several miniatures for 3e D&D and tried to paint...Fail! They looked slap-dash! Now I'm really into painting!

So, I wanted to start a thread about painting minis and see if anyone else would like to share theirs too. Check out the links I have put in here and feel free (nicely I hope haha) to discuss them with me. More to come of course--I have several minis in progress! Post yours too! I'd love to see them!
