@DM - This week has gotten away from me. Do you have a cutoff time in mind on Friday?

@DM - given my recent luck with rolling and seeing what Bjorn ended up with, I'd rather not press my luck on starting gold. That said, 2 shortswords aren't very dwarf-like. Can I swap them out for a battleaxe and handaxe or light hammer?

@mishima - I've been working on a ranger, so I'll stick with that. You can do the rogue you mentioned earlier.

Ok. Sounds good. I was looking at the Sapper. Seemed thematic. I'll look at a ranger then unless Michael chimes in. Always helpful when wandering around the wilderness.

@DM - thanks for the offer.

Stat 1: 6d6 - 3 ⇒ (5, 1, 1, 5, 1, 4) - 3 = 14
Stat 2: 5d6 - 5 ⇒ (2, 5, 4, 6, 3) - 5 = 15
Stat 3: 6d6 - 3 ⇒ (1, 6, 6, 1, 6, 1) - 3 = 18
Stat 4: 6d6 - 4 ⇒ (3, 1, 6, 2, 6, 1) - 4 = 15
Stat 5: 5d6 - 4 ⇒ (3, 5, 5, 1, 3) - 4 = 13
Stat 6: 6d6 - 4 ⇒ (4, 1, 2, 6, 2, 1) - 4 = 12

Certainly better than the first set and workable. Although that was a lot of 1's. Twice as many as would be expected - granted it was a small pool.

@mishima - What are you working on? I'd rather not duplicate if possible. I can go skilled or melee/ranged.

I might throw my hat into the ring if you still need players to get the game started.

Stat 1: 6d6 - 5 ⇒ (5, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3) - 5 = 11 Not a good start. I'm assuming reroll 1 & 2 once.
Stat 2: 4d6 - 3 ⇒ (4, 3, 4, 5) - 3 = 13
Stat 3: 4d6 - 3 ⇒ (4, 3, 6, 4) - 3 = 14
Stat 4: 4d6 - 3 ⇒ (3, 3, 3, 5) - 3 = 11
Stat 5: 5d6 - 4 ⇒ (4, 1, 4, 3, 3) - 4 = 11
Stat 6: 5d6 - 3 ⇒ (2, 3, 3, 6, 1) - 3 = 12

Hmm, the dice gods seem to be telling me I shouldn't be in this game.

Are there any limits on what Arcane Tradition I choose? I'm leaning towards Evocation but an considering others.

Between work, taxes, and Easter, I wasn't able to work on my wizard much. With 2 of those 3 now behind me, I hope to get my character finished in the next day or 2. Sorry for the delay.

Im working on a human wizard.

This seems interesting. I'll see what I can come up with. How many are you taking and when is the recruitment ending?

5d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 2, 1, 1) = 13 11
5d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 3, 1, 1) = 15 13
5d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 5, 4, 4) = 18 13
5d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 3, 5, 1) = 19 15
5d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 4, 2, 3) = 20 15
5d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 1, 3, 4) = 15 11

Lol avg 13 exactly. And I didn't even need a calculator. Apparently the rng is still stuck on odd numbers.

My initial thought was a rogue but there are plenty of them so I'll see what I can come up with for a wizard.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to work on my character last night and won't have time this morning to finish. Have fun.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Never played 3.5 but would be interested in playing. Looks like I can use an SRD for the rules. Will try to put something together by the deadline.

Str: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 1) + 6 = 12
Dex: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 5) + 6 = 12
Con: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 6) + 6 = 18
Int: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 5) + 6 = 16
Wis: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 5) + 6 = 15
Chr: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 6) + 6 = 14

Hmm, I guess a hardy wizard?

Are we using Background skills?

Sorry for the delay. Holidays were busier than I expected especially at work. Updating my hobgoblin alchemist to the build requirements for this. I can take trap breaker to cover traps easily enough although we still might want a 5th.

Ok, so while we don't have a heavy armor tank, we have 3 melee types and 1 ranged so I think I should look at something that can contribute from range. I have a hobgoblin alchemist from the start of a Skulls and Shackles game I could dust off and adjust for the build rules.

So it looks like Therin is switching to slayer and handling traps. Skorn, what's your build that you're getting the ok for? Then I'll see what I can come up with to round out the group.

I'm open to any options. Getting PFS credit was just a bonus. I imagine there will be less opportunities in the future to play in these modules, so I'd rather run them without credit than not run them.

One question I have for option 2 is how much xp you get from each. I've only run 1 module for credit before and believe I rec'd enough to advance 1 level. If we tried to run these under PFS, it seems we would need to run an extra module between each of the planned 3 in order to level up to 3 for Masks and then 5 for City. Taking a glance at a few, I can't tell what modules are considered evergreen. It doesn't seem to be as obvious as it is on some scenarios. I don't know if there is an easier way to find them.

Hi, Espi told me to chime in. I'm not sure if I'm the only one joining or if there will be another. Looking over the characters, it looks like you need someone to handle traps and need a front-liner. If I'm going to be both, I'll probably look at a ranger or maybe even a slayer like the player that dropped.

Oh well. Haven't had a chance to finish my technomancer but it looks like you have your group. Have fun.

I've been working on a technomancer.

How many players can play on a table of this?

Unfortunately I'm not going to finish in time. My wife decided to stay up late tonight of course lol. Trying to fill in a profile on my phone isn't working. Have fun and good gaming.

I'm still trying to finish my divine character although I imagine it won't be as fleshed out as the others, especially the background. It will depend on when everyone gets to bed. I'm looking at ecclesitheurge of Sarenrae 5 (good and sun) / zen archer 1.

I'm still working on my cleric. Going support route as need to use too many feats to make archery work well. I was considering ecclesitheurge to toss out +2 bonuses but was concerned about not having armor similar to blossoming light character. Will we be able to craft pre-game?

For what it's worth, with plenty of melee and skilled already, I was looking into a cleric. Trying to decide if I should try archer or just stick with support.

If we need a tank, I could do a dwarf fighter, or maybe war priest if we needed additional healing. This was actually one of my original ideas but was looking to see what the group needed.

I might put something together for this. I like the opportunities to play a classic. I'll look through the guide I have for some ideas.

As much as I would like to play through the spire, I was selected for another game and I don't want to spread myself too thin so I won't be submitting a character. Good gaming.

I'm thinking about going with Human and taking Scribe Scroll and Additional Traits for my feats so I have a few questions:

1. Is pre-crafting allowed and if so, how do you want to handle it? Do you want me to roll my Spellcraft rolls to create scrolls to track gold spent?

2. Is the trait "Cleansing Light" ok? I'm assuming Sarenrae and Pelor are interchangeable.

3. How about "Exalted of the Society"? It's tied to PFS as written but I think the city of Greyhawk could give a similar bonus.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I was thinking of submitting a cleric but I wouldn't be done until later in the week.

Ok. I'm working on a cleric. Trying to decide between human and aasimar and whether I need the extra feat or an extra channel. Will there be time for crafting or will just be purchasing our magical equipment?

I was thinking of a support cleric to help buff, heal, and deal with undead. Maybe of Pelor with good and sun domains but I the closest temple I could find is in Blackwall. I could be passing through Diamond Lake while travelling from Greyhawk to Blackwall, but not sure a native of Diamond Lake would worship Pelor.

Looks like Diamond Lake has temples of Heironeous and St. Cuthbert. If I had to be from town and Pelor doesn't work, I guess St. Cuthbert with protection or Heironeous with Glory or Heroism instead of sun might work. Would have less focus on channeling against undead.

RamzaBeoulve withdrew. I was trying to put together a cleric but haven't come up with anything I like. I might try to finish the magus I was working on earlier but there's already a lot of competition for those spots.

Well, I was trying to see if a half-orc magus with a whip would work but I see the fighter category had become very crowded. I can take a look at a cleric again if you're including shamans with druids.

I think I've settled on an updated version of the classic Figher/MU and going with a magus. He travels the world searching for powerful artifacts and honing his abilities. Probably an elf but trying to borrow a copy of the Forgotten Realms Campaign setting to see what other options might fit.

Ok so that gives me 15, 10, 17, 14, 16, 17.

Could make a well rounded ranger, which would seem to be a good fit thematically.

Could also make a good battle cleric. That might take a little more work creating a background explaining why he's in Chult.

When are you looking to start the game?

I can't pass up a chance to play an old-school module. I don't recall playing it back in the day but I recognize the cover. Might even have it in some box. Let's see what the dice have to say.

6 + 3d6 ⇒ 6 + (6, 2, 3) = 17
6 + 3d6 ⇒ 6 + (1, 1, 3) = 11
6 + 3d6 ⇒ 6 + (3, 5, 6) = 20
6 + 3d6 ⇒ 6 + (4, 4, 2) = 16
6 + 3d6 ⇒ 6 + (5, 5, 4) = 20
6 + 3d6 ⇒ 6 + (2, 6, 5) = 19

I'll see what I can come up with. I noticed you didn't mention a skilled character.

I'm sure that wasn't an easy process. Thanks for taking up the call to run the game. I'm glad to see most of the accepted players were from the original thread. Congrats.

Ugh, guess I should have stayed up a bit longer laat night to post my alchemist.

Ok. Considering an alternative. Will there be downtime for crafting?

Trying to catch up with everything after the holiday weekend. Given the cutoff time, looks like I'll stick with my original concept from the other thread of a rogue (even though I see 3 others vying for that spot, I don't think I'll have time to switch.)

@GM - 3pm in what time zone?

This might be too much for me to unwrap but I might as well roll as a start:

Dice Pool #1: 24d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 2, 3, 2, 2, 2, 5, 6, 4, 5, 6, 6, 6, 4, 5, 1, 1, 6, 3, 2, 1, 5, 4) = 92
Dice Pool #1 - reroll 1's: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 6) = 12

2's - 5
3's - 2
4's - 3
5's - 6
6's - 7

That seems rather good. Will have to see what I can do with it.

The weekend didn't go as planned and I don't think I'll be able to finish my character tonight. It looks like you have a few good submissions, including one to fill in for the departed mechanic I was looking to fill, so I'm going to pass. Good gaming.

How much do we have to spend on equipment?

Looks like you lost your mechanic. I'll look to see how far I made it on the yoski drone mechanic I was working on for the original recruitment.

When would you be looking for us to join in?

Are you seeing what characters gel together and picking a group of (?) from those that are hanging out in the pub?

For a chance to play it I would do core. I'll have to come up with a different character concept as I had previously as I dipped magus. Might still do a rogue though. When would you be looking to start? And thanks for considering running it.

It's not listed in the table but in the descriptions is Second Sight for 2D. It doesn't list if it's + or -. I'm guessing - but wanted to check.

With Reldek going with a pilot, I think I'll create a scout. I might tweak the template a bit but not getting too crazy as this will be my first character.

I see Atlas used Advantages and Disadvantages but the book says the system is optional so wanted to make sure you are using it before I spend time looking at those.

I'd be interested. I've played since 1987. Think my brother in law was interested.

Hopefully it's 1e edition? :)

I have never played so I'll have to learn the system. Fortunately I know someone who has played a few times to answer any questions.
