Are we done with this campaign?

Thanks again for playing. Active engaged group that knows what they're doing...what more could a GM ask for.

The last slice of pizza.

Grand Lodge

Looks good. Thank you for GMing :-)

Grand Lodge

Still not working.

Grand Lodge

Thank you for a well run scenario. You handled several difficult things quite well!

Just as a reminder to everyone, if you want a continual flame, heightened to caster level 11, spell level 6, you can have it for 50gp.

Definitely!

A reminder for anyone who didn't take it into account yet that both Auriferous and Ragnar are adding +3 circumstance bonuses to your Day Job rolls for a combined +6.

That brings my day job roll to an even 30.

"Tenth by Third," Gwynnis begins, "I cannot say how much Hao Jin has or has not learned, that is for you to judge. However, I do feel confident speaking to her intentions and desires. First, she has abided by the previous ruling of the Council of Axis for centuries--considerably longer than the duration of her mortal life. In numbers of years, the majority of her existence has been one that has abided by the laws of Axis. That would require either great growth or great deceit, and I sensed none of the latter in her.

"Second, she acknowledged to us her flaws and mistakes that she has learned through contemplation, and how those errors affected other mortals and their souls. Again, I sensed only genuine wisdom in Hao Jin. And again, this is something I feel qualified to judge, as one who spends an hour of her day--everyday--in meditative contemplation. I could not fail to recognize the signs in another.

"Third, Hao Jin was reluctant to help us in our endeavor, for fear that she might accidentally err again. Your judgment today will be the next step in her education, like feedback from a wise master, to let the student know where she is following the path and where she still needs to study."

Crunch:
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (7) + 23 = 30
Reroll: 1d20 + 27 ⇒ (15) + 27 = 42

Grand Lodge

I was thinking the same thing as Auri. Will post in the morning, when I have more time.

Time to start looking through sheets for interesting boons...

Chronicler Thrice per adventure before attempting an Acrobatics, Climb, Survival, or Swim check, Gwynnis gains a circumstance bonus equal to 1 plus half of the number of goals she has completed (9) when attempting the check. She also halves her armor check penalty for the purpose of this skill check. In addition, she can modify a Linguistics, Knowledge or Use Magic Device check, and attempt the check as if trained.

Curious Pipefox Before attempting a Knowledge (history or religion) check, Gwynnis may treat her result as if it were 25, even if she is not trained in the skill. Alternatively, she may gain a +5 bonus on the check.

Scholar of the Gates Ajar Gwynnis gains a +2 competence bonus on Knowledge (planes or religion) checks regarding daemons, demons and devils.

Grand Lodge

Save the last slot for something else. My skill bonuses are pretty good.

ALL PARTY MEMBERS have extended Heroism: +2 morale bonus to attacks, skills, saves.

Except Gwynnis, I think. Not enough castings.

GM Uktar wrote:
Also, Tchekua has a slight bias toward those who speak in ornate ways, and he’s readily wooed by those who demonstrate sincere passion.

Did you mean bias against those who speak in ornate ways?

Grand Lodge

Gwynnis stands quietly, watching to see who listens to whom, and then drifting closer to those people that seem to garner the most attention.

Sense Motive (T10): 10 + 21 = 31

Grand Lodge

"Perhaps we should give Polanco the chance to report in full himself, before we take any action?"

GM Uktar wrote:

Gwynnis, what boons, if any, do you have from your chronicle for 7-23: Abducted in Aether?

I checked his PbP character sheet, which lists his boons, and it didn't have the relevant one listed. Given that the boon doesn't have an explicit beneficial effect, I could see why he might not have put it on his character sheet, so it's worth double-checking...

"Acquainted with 322" is crossed off :-( Got the rest, though.

GM Uktar wrote:
You have no idea. There were 2 more reasonable solutions: 1 involved having played a previous scenario

Did a certain number of characters have to play that scenario? I think I was the only one who had.

Grand Lodge

Gwynnis waits without fidgeting at all, slowly looking from one person to the next.

Ugh! I don't like the situation this scenario is putting us in. It feels like every choice is wrong, both in character and out.

Grand Lodge

"How can we weigh a known against an unknown? The only thing we do know--the only thing we can pass judgment on--is 322's intentions. She intends to go where she is forbidden. She intends to keep her actions secret, even from those whose help she seeks." Gwynnis pauses for a few moments, "If her chosen path poses no threat to the Society, why hide it from us? On the other hand, if that path is so evil that revealing it would guarantee we don't help her . . ."

Vote for combat.

Grand Lodge

"You began your mission by committing multiple crimes. You continue it by refusing to address our concerns. I don't see how we can possibly trust you to finish that mission without breaking more laws."

Grand Lodge

"Since you are unwilling to sufficiently explain your business, let's get personal. Why are you so upset?"

Sense Motive (T10): 10 + 21 = 31

Grand Lodge

"It is not our responsibility to decide who enters Skyreach, and definitely not our right to provide access to one forbidden entrance. Tell us your business there, and perhaps we can complete it for you."

Sense Motive (T10): 10 + 21 = 31
Diplomacy (Aid): 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5

Grand Lodge

Gwynnis stays by the side of Auriferous, giving a slight frown when Alonso flies off on his own. "Now, let's see if we can find Yakomo again."

Perception (T10): 10 + 35 = 45

Grand Lodge

Gwynnis nods at Yakomo's words, "All obstacles are merely challenges for us to overcome and grow out of."

Grand Lodge

This character does have that chronicle.

Grand Lodge

Gwynnis folds one hand inside the other, watching Yakomo's movements as he talks.

Sense Motive (T10): 10 + 21 = 31

Grand Lodge

Gwynnis stays to watch the devil, while Ragnar speaks with the librarian.

Grand Lodge

"Perhaps we should stabilize his wounds, and then carry him out ourselves? Devils may adhere to the minimum letter of the law, but I would just as soon make sure that we fulfill our entire agreement with the librarian--and actually remove this ugliness from his domain."

Grand Lodge

I think Auri and Gwynnis should be unbolded.

Grand Lodge

Gwynnis pulls out a potion and drinks it, then begins floating a few inches above the floor.

Crunch:
Move Retrieve an item
Standard Drink a potion of fly

Is the devil in or moving toward dim light? It will affect my action next round.

Grand Lodge

Alonso Gallonica wrote:
Gwynnis I just cast daylight.

I don't want to attack before the devil takes a hostile action, though. And since the room is big enough that your daylight doesn't cover everything, a second casting would have filled both needs.

Grand Lodge

Gwynnis fumbles the words on her scroll a second time, before jumping over the seats and drawing a wand.

Crunch:
Standard Activate scroll of daylight
Move Movement (jump) (Auto-succeed on Acrobatics)
Free Draw a wand of faerie fire

Caster Level (DC 6): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 Really?!
Wisdom (DC 5): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Grand Lodge

Gwynnis pulls a scroll out of her pack, but can't get the phrasing quite right.

Crunch:
Free 5-ft. step
Move Retrieve item
Standard Activate scroll of daylight

Caster Level (DC 6): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Wisdom (DC 5): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

Grand Lodge

"I appreciate your concern and assistance," Gwynnis tells Ragnar, then projects her voice to reach all of the companions, "Though I fear that by assuming the worst of this Beyschosz, we only tempt fate to realize our fears."

----------

"Beyschosz, yes? Perhaps you could make a new reservation, and allow everyone to get what they want?"

Grand Lodge

"Particularly the reason why you need help with his departure. Has he resisted previous efforts? Perhaps threatened you?"

Grand Lodge

"We are here to collect the emgram in your possession."

Diplomacy (Aid): 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (9) - 1 = 8

Grand Lodge

I will be out of town Saturday-Monday. Not sure whether I will still be able to post, so don't hesitate to bot me.

Grand Lodge

"She is our only lead at the moment, right?"

Grand Lodge

"Even if you should suffer for helping the tapestry's residents, are their lives not worth your sacrifice?"

Grand Lodge

"One of my missions was indeed into your tapestry, where we found Aspis agents looting a vanaran temple of Ragdya. Disruptions of the demi-plane's weather had buried the Vudran temple inside a glacier, and the Aspis were using slaves to chip away the ice."

#3-19: The Icebound Outpost

Grand Lodge

"We are simply following orders, as you seem to be. We wish only to find a path that respects both our orders and your laws."

Diplomacy (Aid): 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (17) - 1 = 16

Grand Lodge

Gwynnis stands when the arbiter arrives, "Please forgive our ignorance. We wish to abide by your laws, but are simply unfamiliar with them."

Diplomacy (Aid): 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (10) - 1 = 9

Grand Lodge

When Alonso announces that they will be waiting for a while, Gwynnis seats herself on the ground and closes her eyes.

Grand Lodge

As soon as everyone passes through the portal, Gwynnis says, "Somebody was following us back in the market. I wasn't able to see who."

Grand Lodge

"I, Gwynnis Tilia-Faced, do so agree."

Grand Lodge

The party so far sounds good. Much better than three plus a pregen!

Grand Lodge

Gwynnis looks once at the ugly human and frowns, then frowns even deeper at the drunk dwarf. She moves toward the remaining dwarf and introduces herself, "Gwynnis Tilia-Faced, druid of the Darkmoon Wood and monk of the Black Forks."

Grand Lodge

Up to 5 PCs with a cleric!

Grand Lodge

I have a strong preference for healing (Kyra). No pregen can play up and make a competent front liner, but I believe Kyra has the headband that gives +2d6 channel, which can still make her effective at 10-11. That and a few scrolls of heal should keep us alive to the end.

Also, I just PMed all of the players that I know with high level core characters. Hopefully some of them will join us.
