M Dwarf Cleric (Torag) 1

Thanks for running, I have a lot more homework to do on the Playtest rules.

M Dwarf Cleric (Torag) 1

"If this holy man of Milani died with unfinished business, it is not unknown for them to rise again from the dead, though in that process they lose sight of good and become slaves to the evil of undeath. That must have been what happened to this Wennel, you describe"

Religion: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19

M Dwarf Cleric (Torag) 1

75247 is my PFS ID.

M Dwarf Cleric (Torag) 1

Having had just about enough of the evil caster, Grimkell strides over to him and readies an action to strike with his hammer if the caster tries any spells.

Stride x2 and ready to strike.

hammer: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Hammer dmg: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

M Dwarf Cleric (Torag) 1

Seeign the many wounds suffered by Anivash, Grimkell casts the same positive energy spell again, but this time targets an ally to heal, rather than harming the undead. Grimkell then readies his shield in case the monsters start to come his way.

Ranged Heal on Anivash: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

Bleh! Sorry Anivash...Using ranged heal which takes two actions, and third to raise shield.

M Dwarf Cleric (Torag) 1

Sure, I will use on closest guy. Sorry, would post more, but using my phone and it's hard enough while traveling.

M Dwarf Cleric (Torag) 1

Grimkell couldn't agree more wit Robert's sentiment. "Undead are an abomination to the Smith and all who support him. Back to the grave with you, filth!" He cries holding forth the silver hammer holy symbol and casting enough positive energy to blow all the skeletons to dust.

[ooc]Move and ready an action to cast heal with verbal and somatic components to blast all undead within 30' radius if at least 3 come within that range.

Heal to harm undead: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

M Dwarf Cleric (Torag) 1

I concur

M Dwarf Cleric (Torag) 1

Can someone untrained provide aid to a trained PC?

M Dwarf Cleric (Torag) 1

Grimkell will look for any signs of foot traffic down here. If the missing Pathfinder was taken this way, those who have me must have left a sign.

M Dwarf Cleric (Torag) 1

Grim points out the symbol carved in the sign of the Sanguine Thorn. It depicts a bleeding rose. "This is the symbol of the goddess Milani. She is the patron of uprisings, hope, and devotion."

Grimkell's climbing skills are not up to par, and while he doesn't fall, he doesn't exactly make great progress either. He quickly turns to climbing rope to make the descent, tying knots in it a intervals to make hand and foot holds.

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Religion: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Athletics: 1d20 ⇒ 7

M Dwarf Cleric (Torag) 1

Grimkell moves to the side of the fallen fighter and calls on the healing power of his patron deity to restore the man to health, at least a little.

Move Away from Ooze. Somatic Casting of heal on Robert. Then Medicine check on self vs persistent dmg.

Heal: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Medicine check on self DC 15: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

M Dwarf Cleric (Torag) 1

Will be on vacation starting this evening through Saturday. Will unlikely be able to post much if at all. Please DM-PC as you see fit. Will return on Sunday to normal functioning.

M Dwarf Cleric (Torag) 1

Seeing the wounds cause by the bats, Grim moves to Anivash and with a practiced eye, dresses and closes the injuries as best he can. Once the patient is stable, he moves to the goblin, grimacing despite himself, and works on his teammate.

Medicine DC 15 Anivash: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Medicine DC 15 Ord: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
DC 20 flat check, ending persistent dmg: 1d20 ⇒ 8

It's unclear if I can do more than one Medicine check per round. Will move to Ord next if so. My understanding is this allows them a DC 15 flat check (instead of DC 20) to end the persistent damage. If I misunderstood, I may retcon the whole thing.

M Dwarf Cleric (Torag) 1

Grimkell just does keep his footing when the stairs collapse around him, leaning on the railing enough to keep from hurting himself.

Grimkell is not a master craftsman, but his time studying the Smith's theology taught him to be handy at least a bit. He tries to use his ability to prop up the crumbling ceiling, but beam he grabs crumbles also when he tries to root it.

Grim Athletics DC 12: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Crafting DC 13: 1d20 ⇒ 2

M Dwarf Cleric (Torag) 1

Grim smiles at the Muckraker. "Perhaps you might arrange for one of the mangy stray cats here in the Puddles to help keep your storeroom rodent free. Using what you have at hand to complete a job is a virtue the Smith would be proud of."

Continuing, Grim says, "What is the cause of this plague of rats, miss? Perhaps we can be of some service if a simple house cat won't suffice?"

M Dwarf Cleric (Torag) 1

Grim steps around the corner, dropping his shield as cover while his allies seem to be making short work of the kobold attackers.

Move forward 20', raise shield, ready attack action if any kobold comes with in melee range.

M Dwarf Cleric (Torag) 1

Grimkell will delay.

M Dwarf Cleric (Torag) 1

Noticing the stonework in the sewer tunnels, Grimkell spies a place where their is an unusual seam. Looking closer, he sees a pit at the junction of the walkways.

"Eyes front, Pathfinders! There is a pit ahead there at the junction. Be wary!"

Grim points out the hazard to all, making sure no one gets close before they spy the trap.

Perception DC 16: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24

M Dwarf Cleric (Torag) 1

Grimkell's lip curls in distaste as the others talk about these alledged "sewer dragons". "Why does the city allow these vermin to live below the streets? Kobolds are a blight and allowing them to live in Absalom will only result in someone getting hurt. Mark my words! We may need their help today but we should really be pushing them back into the wild where they belong."

M Dwarf Cleric (Torag) 1

FYI, I will be out of town for work starting tomorrow (wed) through friday. Please bot me if holding up the works. May get to post from the road, but not guaranteed.

M Dwarf Cleric (Torag) 1

Grimkell tries to convince the newly captured Barber to give up any more information, but he comes off as preachy and pedantic, and the rest of the group can't help by stare at the absolute ass he is making of himself.

Diplomacy DC 14: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Sigh. Dwarven diplomacy, what an oxymoron...

M Dwarf Cleric (Torag) 1

Grimkell is surprised by the sudden attack of the group of Barber's and winces as the stones bounce of BJ's face, leaving a bloody mess. Knowing the fighter will likely just ignore the pain, he reaches out to him with a divine touch, trying to heal some of his hurts as he moves to the front line.

"By the bountiful beard of Father Torag, I heal thee, and ask thy vengeance on these enemies of Good!"

After casting, the cleric raises his steel shield in defense, in case more stones start flying.

Use Somatic Casting action to cast Heal on BJ, which includes touching him. This is from the Channel Energy pool. If he has moved out of range, will use Stride Action to stay within touch range. In either event, will also use Raise Shield action.

Heal: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 Ick...

M Dwarf Cleric (Torag) 1

Seeing the lad try to motion to someone outside, Grimkell tries to stop him. "For the love of the Smith, lad! Don't sell us out before you've even met us! Have a care, and tell us what you know."

It's obvious that Grim's interpersonal skills are not all they should be.

Perception (above): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Perception (now): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10

M Dwarf Cleric (Torag) 1

"My dear lady," starts Grimkell putting on his most stentorian speaking voice. "We seak the Bloody Barbers. I am told we may find them here. What, pray tell, can you tell us about them? If you rent a chair here, you must know something about those fellows."

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Yeah, that goes about as well as predicted...

M Dwarf Cleric (Torag) 1

I have Diplomacy trained, but since I am dwarf, my CHA is not great. With the proficiency bonus, I get a +1. Will give it a shot...

M Dwarf Cleric (Torag) 1

As Grimkell listens to the nefarious activities of the Barbers, he gets ever more agitated. "By the Holy Forge, these scoundrels need to be taught a lesson. Who is protecting innocent families from them and their depredations on society? Are they allowed to operate with impunity? Even if the Society had not called us to it, I would want these dregs dealt with."

When the Pathfinders arrive at the Smiling Cut, he watches to see if this will be subterfuge or strong-arm, his own personal feeling definitely in favor of the latter.

M Dwarf Cleric (Torag) 1

The teachings fo Torag do not specifically mention the Red Barbers, but one of his clerical instructors spoke about the religious gangs of Absalom once. Grimkell tries to remember any more important facts about the group.

Religion: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

M Dwarf Cleric (Torag) 1

"Is there a reward in it for us?" asks the young dwarf, hand slipping unconsciously to his rather light purse. He had just spent his last real coins on getting his beard re-braided and was worried about paying the landlady when the next rent installment came due.

M Dwarf Cleric (Torag) 1

Here and ready

M Dwarf Cleric (Torag) 1

A rather youthful (for a dwarf) figure approaches, holding a copy of the same letter as the rest of you. His hair is jet black, and braided into high cornrows that end with jeweled bangles on each braid. His black beard is oiled and brushed, and trimmed exquisitely, each fork held fast by a shining golden ring.

The dwarf wears a rich cloak, that is a bit travel-stained now. A silver chain around his neck holds a holy symbol in the shape of a hammer. A bigger, but similar hammer is at the belt of the cleric.

He looks you over once, noting the goblin with obvious distaste and gnome with mild annoyance. "I am Grim Highsmith, acolyte of Torag and initiate with the Society. I assume you are here for the same reason I am," he shakes the letter to emphasize the point. "It is a shame about murders of those unfortunates who were recently enslaved. Now a missing Pathfinder agent as well! It is time to put an end to this, in the name of the Smith himself!"

M Dwarf Cleric (Torag) 1

The avatar page format was royally screwed up using Chrome, but I managed to make it work with some perseverance.

M Dwarf Cleric (Torag) 1

This is the alias for my Dwarven cleric of Torag. I am still working through his crunch, but will post in the Gameplay to keep us moving.

His father was high priest of Torag (hence the surname Highsmith) and inducted Grim into the faith at a young age. Seeing that the youth was relying on his father's status and connections to much, the wise high priest sent his son away from the enclave, to make his own way in the world, without much money and little training. This test of self-reliance is important to the father, but seen as a punishment to the son who plans on not returning if it can be helped.

From there, hijinks ensue and he ends up serving the Society as an initiate.
