Grimdell harumphs to himself at this sight of more humanoid silliness. A nest you can move makes sense. Decorating it so that predators can see it from miles away does not. He holds himself aloof, continuing to circle above and watch for trouble.
I don't want to wait that long, though... :D
So, what are we waiting for?
Grimdell doesn't deign to comment on the ridiculousness that had happened below him, instead simply flying onward, keeping watch for anything dangerous.
Grimdell shrieks in derision at the spectacle. "Bah! She mocks us with her pretended praise!" He flew higher, circling up and up until the ground was far distant, then flew over the stream hundreds of feet in the air.
"Ha!" Grimdell shrieks. "If she has enchanted this crossing, then let us simply go to another! No need to submit to her demeaning jokes!"
From above, Grimdell watches the madness with frustration.
Why thank you. :D Grimdell, of course, doesn't care. It's some silly human thing, not fit for griffons to care about. After all, it has nothing to do with sinking your talons into your prey, nor defending your nest, nor flying, so it's obviously only fit for the ground-bound to care about. =P
I have to admit, my first thought on reading this post was, "Wait, there's cardboard on Rue?" XD Then I got to thinking about how, given Rue's history, it makes sense for there to have been greater manufacturing capability than in your typical 'medieval fantasy' setting.
Grimdell, as usual, is circling over the group. He doesn't bother to look closely enough at the table to read the sign, nor does the sight of candies attract the carnivore. He simply continues his watch above the party.
Things that Grimdell thinks are a good idea are often things I don't think are a good idea. XD
Grimdell shakes his head. "If I had heard anything, I would have said!" he screeches, seeming a bit insulted. "Let us burn this place and be gone! The fire shall be a beacon of our defiance of the dark!"
Who needs healing after a night's rest?
"Through dark magic!" Grimdell declares, with unwarranted certainty. "We shall weather these challenges then sink talons into her black throat!"
So I think we still need a fourth watch. :D
Grimdell thought Brycen was strange, even for a human-type, but given his proven mettle in combat did not himself why he kept using 'we'.
"I will watch first," Grimdell states firmly.

Yes, I hope everyone had a merry Christmas!
Grimdell is clearly unhappy to not be able to rend this cleric limb from limb. "We should keep watch this night in case she returns!" he declares.
I'm getting married this Friday, so it's quite possible I'll be somewhat... distracted for the next while. So if I disappear for a bit feel free to have my character do all of the smart things I haven't thought of.
Grimdell immediately throws himself into a careful inspection of the walls of the basement, but not without commenting, "But if this foul one did not live here, how did she know of these secret places?"
"We had not known there was such a foe here when we arrived, but now that we do we should not leave her to continue her work!" Grimdell declares. He hesitates then adds, "Though... we saw no sign of her when we arrived."
Grimdell growls deep in his chest. "Where is this betrayer?" he demands. "I shall rend her limb from limb!"
"Someone is moving down there!" Grimdell exclaims. He starts making his way down the incline, walking cautiously to make sure he doesn't slip.
Grimdell looks warily down one of the slides, wondering if the zombies had crawled up them. When the darkness denies him sight of more below, he grabs a piece of detritus from the room, croons a spell at it that makes it glow, and throws it down the slide.
Grimdell slowly opens his eyes, a pounding headache and the feeling that his beak might be cracked meeting him as consciousness slowly returns. He can't quite surpress a deep groan as slowly gets to his feet, but he says nothing. A warrior does not complain about his wounds. He can, however, heal them, if he happens to have the talent for magical song.
His odd, screeching song is surprisingly effective at healing him. Grimdell's eyes regain their predatory focus as the injuries to his head fade. "No, I will come!" he declares firmly, and follows after Brycen, keen eyes going over his surroundings, searching for more foes.
I'm technically still at negative hit points after that healing. Should I be conscious anyway?
Grimdell lays still, sides rising and falling slowly with his breath. If his unconscious mind has any thoughts in it, one is surely that being knocked out by such pathetic foes is hardly glorious.

Grimdell does his best to stubbornly cling to life in spite of being unconscious.
Oh, I believe you. Level 1 combats are just like this. XD
Given that Menra has some real-life issues in the way, should he just be botted for now to keep combat going?

Doesn't Summon Monster have a 1 round/level duration? So it's basically useless for a 1st-level caster? Or do you have a way to extend that?
Ah, I see. :D I'm too used to most users being in the US.
I might suggest giving them until the evening--Monday evening seems to be a good cutoff time after a weekend.
So, we still have two people we're waiting on to act?
Grimdell shrieks a wordless challenge and then strikes at the zombie again.
But his beak snaps on empty air.

If we die, we die with dignity! With our swords in our hands and a song in our hearts! Hey, that's my line! Well, except for the 'sword' bit. That would need to change to talon.
As much as Grimdell would like to charge into battle--the living dead made much better foes for songs of glorious combat than rats!--he is not a fool. He identifies a place where the undead will have to come to him one at a time (a doorway, maybe?) and takes up a position in it, ready to attack the first creature that comes at him.
The bad rolls continue. :D
Grimdell needs to wait for the next round to attack, correct?
