Gorak hangs with the group. He has no specific plans for the day.

As they are watching, Frakdar turns to Gorak:

Do you have the ability to make one of us grow to huge size like that duegar Frakdar practically spits the name, you can hear the disgust in his tone did in the last fight? It would be fun to enable super Torgus to strike out with his long arms and not allow anyone to close while the rest of us protect his flanks.

While I would love to see how the Masters fight the elements, I do believe that scouting our future opponents would be the most prudent choice.

Gorak asks, "So where to with our new hunk of precious metals?"

Gorak senses no magical auras.

"It's not magic. It's probably a trophy or prize of some kind. "

If no one else moves to do so Gorak picks up the gold mountain.

Gorak stares at the trophy a long moment. His eyes intense.

Detect magic on the trophy.

Sorry, it seems i'm not getting notifiers of new posts on this thread… hmmm.

Javi -- who had gone from literally invisible to simply letting his quiet nature render him socially invisible -- finally speaks up as the half-orc leaves. "So he taught the group we just beat?" As he asks, he stoops down to tentatively touch the golden statue.

"It would seem. A harsh teacher though."

Not sure I remember why Gond.

"Why Not?" Gorak says as his ape form melts away and his half orc form becomes apparent.

Clearly he's not hiding anymore, right? That being the case...

Gorak-ape says in his normal voice despite his animal form,
"You there (pointing with his meaty ape hands). Why are you following us?"

Gorak dismisses the crackling energy aboug himself. As he does to the ozone in the air seems to flow away. The hairs on everyone's arms and body lay back to their proper place.

Gorak waits patiently.

When gorak's turn rolls around I'll attempt to strike the staff magus with lightning.

Gorak shifts 5 feet as needed, but otherwise calls another bolt down on the same guy.

So i was looking for a profile picutre for a different character. I discovered that Gorak's profile picture is a woman. I think human. *fail*

I'll post a bit early since it's only allies between now and then.

Gorak takes a 5 foot step (E12) and casts a spell (call lightning 5 minutes). Seconds later a 30' vertical 5'wide bolt of lightning materializes above the guy in G12 (assuming he hasn't moved).

I never got a clear answer about the weather conditions. Is it rainy, cloudy and windy, or hot and cloudy? if yes the damage goes up. For the initial roll I will assume not.

So gorak kind of sucks at non-lethal combat. Any suggestions on how I can fix that?
For lethal combat he'd summon lightning strikes and fire.

The map only half loaded for me, but I'll do what I can. Just help me a bit with intelligent placement, etc.

Two questions: 1) This is NOT to the death, correct? I am considering calling lightning, but I feel that would probably be frowned upon. On a related note... 2) What is the weather like? Clear skies or cloudy?

Hey, Voice, I have a question about gear.

in the more non-traditional style games, what are the general attitudes (as well as strict rules) about weapons and tactics?

Basically, should i be looking to pick up a longbow? Or do I need to stick to more "martial arts" stuff?

EDIT Also, what is the rules/expectations on food resources? Should we be expected to find/hunt/scavenge for food? Or can we bring in rations? Or is it only supposed to last for a short time? (so food shouldn't be an issue?)

Plus I can make good berries as needed.

I can't think of much else in that price range that would be useful that I don't already have. I'm open to suggestions.

How you want us to deal with shopping lists? I only ask because I'm not sure how much gold we have. Should we just toss out items we'd like to look for? Also, should we be on the lookout to specifically gear up for the upcoming survival game? Or should we be looking for gear more specifically intended for each of our characters in general?

We were each given 1500 GP writs plus whatever you may have had from character creation.

Javi is happy to eat and drink (the casual sort of drinking -- no competitions for the Wasp), but he is both too insecure (young) and shy to want to really engage with any of the women.

I'm playing Gorak as if he has lived in a small tribal society most of his life. He doesn't understand a lot about "culture."

Gorak show's curiosity which could easily be misconstrued as interest. (I have no idea how to play this, but here goes.)

Gorak quicklly figures out that the woman is enamored with him. He doesn's understand that she's a prostitute. He thinks she's actually interested. His naiveity shows plainlly, though from his way of dressing so does his lack of funds. He'll follow her lead until A) she realizes he has no money or B) he realizes she wants money. Then he'lll just be confused.

Other than that he eats and drinks his fill.

Gorak looks around. Obviously completely confused. His feet unconsciously shift slightly into a defensive stance.

From within the confines of the tavern you hear a muffled "The Lord in Lilac hath returned!" sound out as a sea of voices speak as one.

Turning Gorak says, "The what?"

Javi shrugs at Frakdar, "He seems to be confident that he knows what he's doing." His expression clearly says, 'we'll see.'

Looking generally confused by the scene, Gorak leans down to Javi and says quietly,

"Is this normal behavior in societies?"

The woman chuckles and says something in the local tongue, to which Morthar breaks out in raucous laughter.

Morthar then continues in response to Javi "Aye little one, I should make much... but before I pay, I buy you dinner, eh?" winking at the lass beside him "I know very good place.. and Ariah has many friends who don't know how badly Bear smell yet."

Gorak eyes the situation warily, but lets the others take point. For all he knows this is normal in civilized society.

Gorak is carrying 1,000gp worth of spyglass :P

Plus you could always go and see Morthar about the bounty (cloth and weapons) from the sahuagin / kua-toa ship.

Gorak probably doesn't understand the value of the spyglass.

Gorak accompanies the group to the tavern.

"I'm curious what kind of ales this area has. Ale is the best creation of the civilized world."

Gorak listens intently, but has nothing to add.

There was a frown between his brows, thinking about the various contests that were likely to take place during a display that involved all the schools of the island. While they were coherent, they were not uniform, and that may help or hinder, depending on the manner in which they were employed. Coming to a conclusion, Cassadar raised his eyes to the Master.

"I am confident enough to volunteer to compete against the other schools", he began, shaking his head as he continued. "My knowledge of survival is less than I would care to test, to be honest."

"Mine isn't." Gorak the Druid grins. "We will help each other."

As he shifts back to his half-Orc form Gorak says "I'm in."

I don't have a strong opinion, wasp. However, ability damage is always helpful.

That could be cool. Direct combat mixed with survival. Toss in some ways of scoring points? A golden snitch? :D

Updated Gorak's sheet. Not much changed. Level 3 spells, skills and I just did average HP.
