Thinking of a rogue.

Very interested!

Silly question. Firbolgs are listed as medium (as opposed to large). Are you okay with them?

This might be splitting hairs but is this adventure a wild ocean seafaring romp or mostly coastal swamp setting.

Just to give a bit of the snapshot of what is already in the mix.

The KGB- Elf Rogue
Amber- Dwarf Fighter
Osrik Fellhammer- Dwarf Barbarian
Althea- Triton Warlock
Kurgen Kegstyalker- Dwarven Ranger
Helix- ? Warlock
Tanya- Human Wizard
Solicitor- Gnome or Halfling Bard or Rogue (just watch your pockets around this one)
Blue Symbiotic- 1/2 Orc Cleric
Duncan Umber- Human Cleric

Back to thinking where I can fit in.

If I missed you sorry. There were a few who rolled stats but
did not offer a suggestion.

Ohhhh this might be fun.

Stats Baby: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 4, 5) = 18-3=15
Stats Baby: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 2, 1) = 10-1=9
Stats Baby: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 6, 6) = 20-2=18
Stats Baby: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 5, 2) = 14-1=13
Stats Baby: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 2, 3) = 11-2=9
Stats Baby: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 5, 5) = 18-2=16

To the books!!

"A wand of waterbreathing in a well. I think if you get this far you are supposed to go for a swim."

Psalm looks at the amulet. "Well we might get another call on the sending stone. . . . I mean we have the amulet. Not to mention whoever is supposed to get the message didn't. They might not make the meeting."

Interested.

Bazzle waits for the creature to reemerge before he throws the acid mask. Rexandi decides to help him by casting guidance.

Bazzle was hoping he would want to eat the mask.

When the creature reemerges from the wall. Bazzle pops the top of the acid, holds the metal mask out hoping to draw the creature to him and offer it to him like a snack to a dog in a possibly fool hardy attempt to get the creature to swallow the acid.

The Xorn races out of the wall to shove Aster away, but the wererat stands her ground and knocks the Xorn to the side. Tarnagius tries to take a swipe at it, but fails to crack through its armour. Tarn bites his lip and yells "Gods damn it all!" He throws down his shield and grabs the Xorn by the claw. With a loud huff, he drags the Xorn away from the wall, despite being clawed along the way. "Try to step back into the wall now!" Tarnagius takes 6 damage.

Everyone's turn.

Is the above my action or is it a new round.

There's a simple reason to go human according to the fluff. Shoanti, the tribal people the Thunder and Fang feats are attributed to in Golarion, have a massive grudge against orcs. So a half orc learning the style would be much rarer. That's just a fluff reason though, and a story can be made to explain a half orc learning the style. Or the in setting heritage of the feat can be ignored.

Yeah I am going to either be a Shoanti human or a half-orc (half-Shoanti) for precisely that reason.

As for pounce of course!

I thought about Viking but I figured straight Barbarian because you want to rage in the barfight at level one . . . if your going to be a Barbarian ;)

Hello,

I am putting together a Thunder and Fang Barbarian for an upcoming run at the Rise of the Rune Lords.

I was thinking of either human or half-orc.

I am aware that half-orc will delay actually using Thunder and Fang but I was trying to figure if which way would be interesting.

I have never really played a barbarian I have played a lot of clerics and several scoundrel characters and rangers.

Any reasons fluff or crunch to go one way or the other?

Anything that is easy to miss your first time running a Barb.

I would prefer 5th so I will withdraw. I am sure you will have plenty of takers. Good luck and happy gaming.

What system were you thinking about using.

I wouldn't have guessed Greek as a second language, even for bible classes (I would've assumed Latin only). You couldn't have used your Bible Major in the church?

For protestants Greek is more significant that Latin. The Old Testament was written in Hebrew. The New Testament was written in Greek with some pieces in Aramaic. Latin becomes significant in the centuries following because with the rise of the Church in Rome and Latin being the language of the day.

Yes the Bible degree is handy and often necessary for working in church but the average church is about its weekly programs, helping the community and caring for its people (ideally). Knowing greek is an almost purely scholarly endeavor and is part of the education track that aims at a masters or doctorate.

4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 6, 4) = 22-4=18
4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 2, 1) = 7-1=6
4d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 4, 1) = 9-1=8
4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 1, 6) = 15-1=14
4d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 1, 3) = 10-1=9
4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 5, 4) = 19-4=15

Are we starting level 1.

I am assuming this isn't AL because you allowed rolling.

Hey there this is Bhoors from GM Infinity's Boltmelter game.

If there is still space I would love to give something a go.

I am considering crafting, buying and or printing up some various game aids. I mostly play right now and am DMing less. As such much of my terrain building space is my kids' Lego space. Also my DM started using a TV (which is really cool). We have been talking about ways to make equipment management simpler and less of a drag. Do any of you find item cards (or cards in general) helpful to the flow of the game or is it a new thing to purchase/create/keep up with that adds very little.

Yeah. Loremaster means GM. And that's what I thought you meant when said that you'd love to run.

We need a GM.

Oh that was not what I meant more in the "lets give this a run" than "Running a game." Though now that you pointed out I definitely was not clear.

I don't think I have the experience or time to give GM a PBP.

Loremaster is that the GM in this version. I can't find it in the pdf.

I was thinking of playing. I don't have any experience running a PBP and no experience with the "Adventures in Middle Earth."

Bhoors will be happy to join Nella in the AL game. He might end up wanted by tht Ytepka afterall.

You're right Aeshuura. Infinity had mentioned doing one of the Annialation seasons and I wondered if it was the one I was currently in that he is running. I missed the post above when he said it was the Elemental Evil season. If Bhoors is about to finish the adventures and Chult then he can join Nella further north in Elemental Evil.

Is the AL season you are doing the same one that Bhoors is about to finished?

I would be interested in White Plume too. Thought if it is going to be AL I don't have a level 7 AL character so I would wish you all well and hook up on the next opportunity. If is no AL characters I can play Thumps or fill a role not already covered.

I have had a PDF of the book for awhile now. I am going to have to look over their classes because I need to refresh my understanding of the classes.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I would certainly love to run some 5e in the ME.

Do you mean the "Adventures in Middle Earth" book. It looks awesome though I think it completely revamped the classes so they are not vanilla D&D.

Were you thinking of using just that book or is it anything goes but the basic setting is ME.

Thanks for holding out for me for awhile. This week got a little crazy for me. I was on the fence about hopping into another game but I knew some of the other players and wanted to give it a go. However rolling up a new healer was slow going for me.

I think the ones you picked look cool. Also thank you to those who put in good words. Congrats to those who made it.

I see we have several vying there are several Arcane casters I was thinking of Turik's place. But with an wizard and a sorcerer in the mix I might go with a Life cleric of Erastil.

4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 5, 4) = 16=15
4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 5, 6) = 21=17
4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 5, 4) = 15=14
4d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 2, 2) = 13=11
4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 1, 6) = 14=13
4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 5, 1) = 12=11

I will have to come up with something fun.

9 people marked this as a favorite.

Thank you. After years of "is it time for 2nd edition" someone needed to put this forward.

Still working on my character. Should be fun. Very much a prankster- Rogue Swashbuckler 3 Cleric Trickster 4 friend of Harshnag, Lords Alliance, or recruit for adventuring all work.

Agent of chaos, doer of good, mocker of evil, Giants need to be knocked down some pegs.

I am thinking of a cleric of some kind. So with that in mind.

HP: 1d8 ⇒ 5
HP: 1d8 ⇒ 4
HP: 1d8 ⇒ 3=4
HP: 1d8 ⇒ 1=4
HP: 1d8 ⇒ 7
HP: 1d8 ⇒ 5
HP: 1d8 ⇒ 7

Anyone here interested in joining my 5e Storm Kings Thunder game?

I'm opening recruitment soon to try and breathe some life back into it, need some fast posters and thought I'd ask here first. Starting level is 7th, have room for 2. Rolled stats and no unearthed arcana.

We've completed 4 of 10 chapters but really no events super significant have occurred yet, other than the party getting some renown. Faction optional.

Party is:

wizard 6/cleric 1
wizard 7
fighter 7
rogue 7
druid 7

Hello,

GM Infinity offered a chance to join up with your merry band of Giant Slayers. I will be rolling something up.

4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 2, 4) = 15=13
4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 5, 5) = 19=16
4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 6, 6) = 20=18
4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 4, 3) = 16=13
4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 2, 3) = 16=14
4d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 1, 4) = 7=6

Wealth: 1d10 ⇒ 1x25+500=525

From what it looks like here a Cleric, Ranger or Bard might be a good choice. I think one of the other players was talking about a Bard so I might look into something divine.

Any suggestions from you who are already playing as to what might help?

Nice! Looking forward to it!

Edit: Nice, Pact of the Tome is my favorite. Very versatile. What color dragonborn you thinking? You will level up to 3rd pretty quickly.

Bronze

Its after 1am where I am.

I am still hashing out details of a character and need to make a profile.

I will finish up when I get up in the morning.

I am putting the final touches on a Dragonborn Celestial Warlock Pact of the Tome.

Extra heals, Spell utility and Flanker.

If I am making a new character should I start it at level 1. Or should I try to get closer to the other submissions.

Cool thanks.

I would be interested. Where is the town of Blasingdell I might have to come up with a character.

Incoming Gnome Wizard

I am in a couple of your other games I am taking stabs at all the 5e I can right now sooo. I will have to come up with something for this.

I'm a grognard to an extent so I like my rolls.

4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 2, 5) = 16=14
4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 6, 1) = 16=15
4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 2, 5) = 13=11
4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 2, 5) = 16=14
4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 3, 2) = 9=8
4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 3, 1) = 13=12

Not so bad I will come up with something new (assuming Whispers survives his current battle in another world otherwise he might get reincarnated).

From the rules:

Variant: Customizing Ability Scores
At your Dungeon Master’s option, you can use this variant for determining your ability scores. The method described here allows you to build a character with a set of ability scores you choose individually.

You have 27 points to spend on your ability scores. The cost of each score is shown on the Ability Score Point Cost table. For example, a score of 14 costs 7 points. Using this method, 15 is the highest ability score you can end up with, before applying racial increases. You can’t have a score lower than 8.

I do not think that you went down far enough to see the variant...

Gotcha.

My screen view was page width. I didn't see that. Thank you.

From the Player's Guide:
"Your character’s ability scores are generated using one
of the following methods:
• Standard Array (15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8)
• Variant: Customizing Ability Scores (PHB)."

When you check the PHB the 2 methods are using the array or rolling 4d6 drop the lowest 6 times.

I am cool either way but the guide lists more than one method.

You can get all the player's info here.

Thank you.

I am looking at the materials now.

Question for the DM

The guide mentions using the standard array or the method from the PHB. Is rolling okay?

I would love to get a shot at this I love 5e though I am not familiar with Adventure League play.

Are we starting in Chult?

Is this a PBP?

Interesting

4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 1, 2) = 8=7
4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 1, 3) = 13=12
4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 4, 6) = 22=18
4d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 4, 2) = 16=14
4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 5, 4) = 19=15
4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 4, 3) = 13=11

Thinking of a Dragonborn or Firbolg Ranger.

What languages would be good for the region?

Is there anything in the world like Tabaxi.

Where will we be starting.

This is moving fast. I am still looking through some of the setting info. Trying to come up with something to fit.

Rath, Male Half-orc Barbarian
Chaq Caex Gold Dragonborn Life Cleric
Morgana De Vallenz Human Artificer

Looks like a an elven possibly drow enchanter

Any other characters I missed.
No rogue I will think about that.
