Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

Thanks Sunset, I'm well. Keep checking back, but not much going on here. I hope that Val is okay, I think we were all kind of waiting for him to get well after being ill, but I haven't seen him post in some time. Anyway, have a good day and here's to hoping we are able to continue this adventure soon.

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

I've had pesky cough for the last two weeks, but other then that I've been okay.

Hope everyone else is okay.

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

No problem, take it easy and get well soon.

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

"If he and his boys will stand by us and we can trust him, I'd more than welcome the assistance.

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

Gloisil listens to the final words of the dwarven priest and when the priest finishes, nods in acceptance of the words that were spoken.

He then turns to the others and says, "I am ready to now accept my fate, whatever it may be, for good or ill, let us be on our way."

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

I think Gloisil and Gyldyr are as ready as they are going to get. Maybe one last inquiry of the priests to see if they have any other suggestions or aid of any kind.

"Come on Gyldyr, let's visit with the priests one more time before we venture towards our final destination."

Gloisil then approaches the high priest and asks, "Is there any other advice or help you can offer to us before we try to recover the artifact?"

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

"Desidera, surely this weapon is meant for your hands at this time. It is a gift most precious considering the task ahead of us. Although you think of yourself as just a healer, but you can be more, we have all been ask to be more than who we are, and we've been asked this in order to save our world and everything we hold dear."

"We will all stand together and do what we must, and perhaps you will be the one to lead us back to the light and the surface via this mighty gift that you have received."

"All I ever wanted was to be left alone, even by my own people so that I could study my arts and be who I wanted to be, but fate has brought us all here and we must all be more than ourselves to get home again."

Smiling at the fair priestess, Gloisil then says, "That is my hope."

"Oh, by the way, while were standing together, Gyldyr and I would appreciate you keeping that fair weapon clear of us. It is made to devour the arcane energy from spell casters such as Gyldyr and I. If we face mighty spell casters in the battle to come, you may do well to make them your target."

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

Gloisil immediately discontinues his spell and backs away when the spear begins to react to his magic. He then tries to recall if he has ever heard of such an occurrence before.

Knowledge (Arcane): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23 Well, hopefully I'll know something with that roll.

"Well ... looks as if you've got something special there indeed. And Desidera it looks as if it may be well suited to your use, as it certainly does not appreciate the arcane arts."

Gloisil then hands the arrows to Gyldyr and tells him that they are fire arrows that burn with a magical fire when shot at a target.

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

Gloisil cast a spell and with a wave of his hand over the lenght of the spear, he causes the dirt and muck to fall from the spear and onto the ground.

Gloisil casts prestidigitation on the spear as Desidera holds it out.

Once it is clean, Gloisil says, "Indeed, it does appear to be of very fine workmanship."

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

"Thank You, Sunset. I hope that the dwarven priests can tell more about these arrows." Gloisil takes the arrows from Sunset and asks if the priests can identify them.

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

Gloisil sees Desidera looking over the spear that they had recovered from the pool and walks up to her and says, "Desidera, would you like me to clean that spear for you? I would be glad to do that for you."

Then to the group as a whole, Gloisil asks, "Does someone have those arrows that we recovered from the pool? Maybe I have them and have just forgot about them."

Gloisil then goes through his gear to make sure that he didn't stow them somewhere. Once located, he approaches the priests and says, "Could I please ask another favor of you? These arrows have some kind of divine enchantment on them, is there anything more you can tell me about them?"

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

"Gyldyr, we still have those arrows that we found in the pool after defeating the water creature. I'm still not sure how they work, but your more than welcome to them. Although the magic that they are enchanted with is divine in nature, they may still be of use, I don't know for sure.

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

At the inquiry to whether Gloisil is in need of healing, he says, "By luck I was not hit in that last skirmish, and am not in need of aid."

Gloisil still has plenty of bolts for his crossbow and other supplies.

Gloisil then asks the priests, "If there is anything that you could offer that you feel would be of benefit to me in completing our task, I would certainly be grateful for such aid."

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

Gloisil bows towards the high priest and says, "We thank you for your help and assistance. I will allow Desidera to carry the object, but will do anything I may to assist her in that task."

"If we must face this being that leads the goblins then so be it, and if defeating him will aid in our escape and in keeping this artifact safe, then I will do all I can to defeat him."

Gloisil then finds a quite place to rest and prepare for the coming task.

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

"Sir Knight, if I recall correctly from what the high priest just told us is that they can lead us to the artifact and help us escape this place. Then it sounds as if we will be on our own in getting to the Kirin Mound, or to the holy Kojan."

"I know that there are a lot of unknowns and questions that we do not have answers for, but that has been the way of it for most of this journey, and I do not expect that to change any time soon. We must do what we can despite the fact that we have not all the answers."

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

After listening to the high priest, Gloisil says, "We will do as we must to complete the task that we have been given. If I must, I will carry the artifact. I would like to get rid of it as soon as possible, so I say we make for the Kirin mound first, but if needed we will take it to Kojan Hold if need be."

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

Gloisil moves forward at the beckon of the spirits of the dwarven clerics. He thanks them for their offer of a place to rest and heal from the battle that just occurred.

Turning toward Harold, Gloisil asks, "Harold, do you know which way we need to go from here? Or do we need to inquire of the dwarven cleric the path we need to travel."

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

Sorry, I was out of town for my new job, and was either too busy, or too tired to post. Sorry to hear about your hard drive failure Val, glad to see that you back online though.

Gloisil just stares at the place where the ghostly image passed through the wall. "Harold, he did say that he wants s to follow him, correct?"

Search: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21, to look for some way to follow the apparition.

Requested percentile roll: 1d100 ⇒ 42

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

Gloisil is slightly surprised at the figures form of communication, but instantly recognizes that it has it's benefits.

At seeing that the figure is motioning for them to follow it through the wall, Gloisil nervously follows, hands extended a bit in front of himself in case the wall turns out to be solid. Gloisil would rather scrap his hand than his nose on the rock wall.

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

Not understanding the language of the spectral figure, Gloisil says, "Harold do you understand this dwarven speech, and can you act as a translator for me, so that I might speak with him?"

Assuming Harold says yes, and tells Gloisil what the dwarf said, Gloisil responds with the following:

Gloisil bows in respect to the spectral figure and then says, "Yes, we are those that were sent by the mighty Kirin to retrieve the artifact before it falls into the hands of those that would destroy the world."

"Our journey has been difficult and a few of those that have traveled with us have been lost. Although we have also found unexpected help from time to time, such as Harold who has guided us on this last part of our task."

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

"Yes Harold, just a moment." Gloisil says as quickly checks to see who is injured, hoping that none of his comrades have fallen.

As he turns he then notices the glowing figure next to Harold. As he approaches he bows and says, "My name is Gloisil, you with to speak with me?"

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

Gloisil takes aim at one of the Ogrillion's with his wand and once again utters the command word to cause it to shoot two fiery rays at the foe he is aiming at.

Attack (Ray 1): 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 3 + 1 = 14, Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 6, 1) = 9. Attack (Ray 2): 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 3 + 1 = 23, Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 6, 5) = 21. Hopefully that will hit an Ogrillion with a ranged touch attack.

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

Val, I've got a new Gyldyr built if you would like me to start posting for Gyldyr. Basically, went by what little information I could glean from past posts. He's still a Drow Necromancer, and the only things that I'm not sure about is how many class levels he had, and what equipment he had. Right now he's only got one class level, which gives him an effective level of three. I've kind of envisioned him as resorting to archery if not using magic, and hand to hand combat as a last resort.

I can just post his actions with Gloisil's, or I can create a new alias with a slightly different name if you'd prefer. If you need an action for him for this round, he will cast magic missle at one of the norkers. Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

I'm still here as well.

Val, I'd be willing to post for Gyldyr if you can get me some stats for him, since you mentioned that his online stats changed. Or, if you'd like I could create a new version of him myself. If you have some guidelines for background and such I could do that for you.

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

Spot check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16 Well, an okay roll, but not great for during combat.

Seeing that the huge goblinoid creature is looking like it is close to going down in battle, Gloisil once again points his wand at it and tries to blast it with the two fiery rays that emerge from the wand.

Attack (Ray 1): 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 1 + 1 = 6, Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 5, 2) = 16. Attack (Ray 2): 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 1 + 1 = 11, Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 5, 3) = 19.

Unfortunately, Gloisil is jostled just as he takes aim and the rays of energy shoot past the bugbear.

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

Gloisil once again aims his wand at the bugbear and utters the words, "Tempter Fieray!"

Gloisil casts another Scorching Ray from his wand and directs both rays at the bugbear. Attack (Ray 1): 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 3 + 1 + 1 = 19, Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 3, 3) = 14. Attack (Ray 2): 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 3 + 1 + 1 = 21, Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 1, 2) = 10.

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

Sorry, forgot to post under my alias.

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

Gloisil shouts out to his companions, "Close your eyes and cover your ears if you can!"

Gloisil then does his best to hold up the squak box while covering his ears with his hands, he then closes his eyes and waits.

[ooc]Will save: 1d20 + 5 + 4 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 5 + 4 + 4 + 4 = 35[/occ]

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

I'll keep the above rolls as those were suppose to be for my first attack. One ray targeting the bugbear and the other targeting the Norker that hit Kurg. Init: 16. Repost of the above attack and damage rolls: Attack 1 (Ranged touch): 16 to hit, damage 8 hp; Attack 2 (Ranged touch): 19 to hit, damage 8 hp. This is Scorching Ray, cast from Gloisil's wand.

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

Val, do I get to keep the rolls for my initial attack (posted three posts back), or have those already been applied and I need to post a new attack? Let me know, thanks.

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

Sure, I can do that if you'd like. I'd have the goblins that Mox recruited form a 'V' shape in the hallway to create a choke point as you suggested. Have them backed up by Mox, Kurg, the dark elf, and the Celtic warrior. Then Sunset, Desidera and myself providing fire cover from the rear. Hope that's okay for everyone. I think that suits everyone's combat abilities as far as I can remember.

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

Gloisil will be standing behind the fighters looking for hole in our front line to shoot through.

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

1d6 ⇒ 2

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16

Gloisil will use his wand to cast Scorching Ray. One ray at each of the big bosses. I just realized or remembered, not sure which, that I get two rays per casting on that since it's 5th level.

"Just a moment uncle, we've got a problem we've got to deal with at the moment. Gloisil then shouts, "Tempter Fieray!"

Attack (Ray 1): 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 3 + 1 = 16, Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 2, 1) = 8
Attack (Ray 2): 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 3 + 1 = 19, Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 3, 1) = 8

Well that should get both of them if we caught them by suprise and they were flatfooted. I hope, I hope, Ihope!

[Edit:] Just went back and reread the post as to who and what was up ahead. I thought there were two bugbear's, but there is only one. So apply the second ray to one of the Norker's.[/Edit]

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

"Well Sunset, perhaps if we were out on one of your sailing ships in the middle of the ocean, I might see the need to wear less. Though I'd hate to give up this handy robe that my uncle gave to me."

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

Gloisil whispers back at Sunset, "Sorry, I didn't have to sneak around back home, I've not had much practice at it."

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

Gloisil tries his best to move forward as quietly as he can, while trying to listen to the group up ahead.

Move Silently: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2, Listen: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23 Well looks as if I gave us all away, good news is I may have heard something.

If we have drawn attention to ourselves, Gloisil will get out his wand and prepare for a fight.

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

"Well we can try to get closer if you'd like. I'm willing to give it a try at this point, what do ya say?

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

"Harold can you hear anything from here, or are we too far away? I'm afraid that if we get much closer that we might well then be in the fight."

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

"I don't believe that I can understand them, can anyone else understand them or know what is going on their. It would be nice if we could question on of them as to what is happening."

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

"So, should we just wait to see who's left and then attack the remainder, or do we jump in now and fight them all. We are in a bit of a hurry after all."

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

"Harold is there another way, or do we need to go down this passage?"

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

"Mox, if we help these goblins that are being tormented, will they join us?"

How far down the tunnel are they? And have we attracted their attention?

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

Sounds like we're all going.

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

"Thank you Mox for 'negotiating' for us, let go see what this new 'stopper' is that you are seeing."

Gloisil prepares to head down to where Mox and his boys were fighting. Once everyone is ready he starts down the passageway.

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

"Well, do we let Mox and his "boys" handle it, or do we go and help them?

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

That is probably a good idea Harold, unfortunately I myself am not good at the sneaking around stuff, and we lost Bob, who was good at such things, some time ago. Perhaps Kurg, Mox, or one of the other goblins might be better suited to scouting ahead."

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

"Harold, you say that you come through here often as a messanger? Would you be able to approach the guards as if you were on one of your errands, and offer them something that you just happened to have."

"I could provide a gallon or two of beer that might get them drunk enough that we could get by them, what do ya think? Would it work?"

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

Wrote a great post yesterday and thought all was well, but alas it seems that the post monster ate it, for it is not here on the thread.

Gloisil eating the fine breakfast that Desidera provided them and them allowing her to fill his water skin for the day's journey. He watches as Desidera laugh and splash water around... just a bit of a smile at the corner of his mouth.

As they finish their meal and get ready to leave, Gloisil sees Desidera fingering the pearl necklace, seemingly lost in thought. Wondering for a moment what she may be thinking, his thoughts turn to his newly acquired dagger, and then he knows what her thoughts are. Gloisil then pulls out the dagger and looks at it once again. Having some idea of what this dagger's capabilities are, but also knowing that the only way to tell for sure is to use it in combat, and that is something he would rather avoid at the moment.

Once everyone is ready to depart, Gloisil says, "Harold, if you would please, take us by the safest path of those you know. We realize that none are completely safe."

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

"Sir Knight, that is good news indeed for now we have a definite destination."

Turning to Harold, Gloisil says, "Can you lead us to this temple location? As good the news is that our good knight has brought to us, the noise that Sunset heard, no matter how far away, leaves me with a sense of foreboding and a heightened sense of urgency."
