I hit a bit of writers block when I tried to do his background over the weekend, but here’s the 10 minute background for him (including his origin).

5 background and concept elements
1. Ethulfel is friendly and helpful- a support character with good social skills, a variety of knowledge, and some spells that can be used for creative problem solving
2. He grew up with his family in a cozy homestead on the edge of the Fangwood (just west of Kassen) He spent a lot of time playing with local animals, especially the wild cats his family kept around to take care of rabbits, squirrels, and other critters that would steal from the garden. He also took every opportunity he could to head into town and interact with people there, including young Talliree Yndercook whom he considered his best friend.
3. As a young adult, he tried studying under both Holgast and Moltas Vardigan, but did not fare well with either teacher. He did learn some from Talliree, but his own curiosity (and desire to interact with others) far outreached hers. At her suggestion, and shortly before Jocyn arrived in Kassen, he traveled to Tamran to seek a mentor there. He found one in Pelius Crispin, a bard in the service of the local Pathfinder lodge.
4. He’s just over three feet tall with wild, turquoise hair and a burgundy, velvet vest that he wears over anything else he might have on, including his chainshirt. He also wears a wide straw hat that gives him the stature of a giant mushroom.
5. He’s gregarious, and friendly to a fault. He’s learned to be quite good at recognizing falsehoods, but he tries to help anyone he can, even if they’re not completely honest with him, as long as there doesn’t seem to be any harm in it.

Two goals for the character.
1. Ethulfel has done a few ‘side jobs’ for the Ashfall Lodge but not yet proven himself worthy of being recognized as an agent; he hopes to change that.
2. Having only recently arrived back in Kassen, he’s not yet aware of Talliree’s condition… I think it would be great if he could figure out some way to help her?

Two secrets about the character
1. He was involved in a romantic relationship in Tamran with Orellia, a half-elven transmuter whose ability to cast spells like reduce/enlarge person was helpful in the bedroom, but he began to grow uncomfortable with her increasingly creative uses of alter self; he told her he needed to return to Kassen to check on his sick mother, but really he wanted some time apart to think about their relationship.
2. Unbeknownst to him, his mother is actually sick, having entered the early stages of the bleaching.

Three people that are tied to the character
1. Although he has not seen her in 4 or 5 years, he is still very fond of Talliree Yndercook (and I’m hoping/planning on her still very much seeing him as a friend, if that’s alright).
2. He remains on good terms with Pelius Crispin, the Pathfinder Agent who trained him in rhetoric and languages, broadened his knowledge, and taught him the power of performance.
3. Several months ago he made a humiliating joke at the expense of a weaselly lumber agent named Oran Dundrick who sometimes does business in Kassen and would relish some measure of revenge.

Three memories, mannerisms, or quirks
1. One of his fondest childhood memories is of being in town while his mother was at the market, telling the story of an adventure he went on with a bobcat cub he befriended in the forest to an evergrowing crowd of delighted other children.
2. Until given reason to do otherwise, he treats all people like old friends.
3. He treats all cats (including cougars and bobcats) like most people would treat a house cat.
Sorry, I thought I already answered that (Thursday maybe?). I hit a bit of writers block when I tried to do his background over the weekend, but here’s the 10 minute background for him (including his origin).

I’m alright with jumping off the tower and trying to flee to safety if necessary, but I’m not sure that’s as likely to work for Thesius. Elliot can at least get himself flying again if he needs to (so he could continue to assist if he got targeted), but I don’t think he has any ability to get Thesius airborne (so Thesius would still be kind of stuck if he’s the one who got targeted). It seems unlikely that Azira would think to ask this, but is there any chance that Aravashnial (or someone) might have a fly scroll? I think Elliot can use one with no roll (assuming it’s crafted at 5th or 6th level), and that would give him the ability to save Thesius in a pinch (and make him the obvious choice to go).
I’m not sure we have a truly good option for escorting Thesius?
Here is my player questionnaire:
1. What time zone are you in?
Eastern Time (GMT-4, or -5, depending on daylight savings)

2. How long have you been playing TTRPGs?
Since before D&D had editions (technically there was basic and advanced, but pre-2nd Edition)

3. What's your favorite part about playing TTRPGs?
The chance to experience just a little bit of the fantastical amidst the banality of daily life.

4. What do you expect from this game?
To have fun creating a compelling story together.

5. What do you expect out of your fellow players?
To embrace the cooperative elements of telling a story together.

6. What do you expect out of me?
To help us stay on track, and to have some fun yourself.

7. What are your redlines? Are there any topics, themes, or imagery that you absolutely do not want to see in the game?
I think the community standards pretty well cover any subject matter I'd prefer to avoid. I deal with a fair amount of conflict management at work and so really prefer to avoid having to deal with it recreationally; I know some disagreements may come up, and that there can be some good character development through working through that, but I really am not interested at all in PVP or direct conflict between PCs.

And, for completeness sake, here is the link to my RP sample again.

I think that should be everything, please let me know if I missed anything.
Alright, my crunch is done and my appearance and background are both posted in my alias (please let me know if you'd like more of either); I just did a narrative background for now, but I might add answers to the 10 minute background later this week if I have time (just in case you want to use it for hooks).

The ecclesitheurge archetype has one domain that works normally but then for their second domain they pick one and get the powers from it but each day they can pick a different available domain’s spell list to use for domain spells. So a cleric of Ragathiel could take destruction [rage] for their primary domain and then for their secondary domain pick anger and they’d get all the granted powers for those normally but when they prepare spells each morning they’d choose the good, law, or nobility domain and pick their domain spells from that and the destruction domain’s lists. Unfortunately, the ecclesitheurge gives up all armor use and proficiency with the deity’s favored weapon, so it’s awful for most melee clerics (though there’s probably a solid build in there somewhere for a cleric of Irori with a 1 level monk dip). It does make the conversion inquisition a much more appealing option though for caster clerics who want to be the party face.

Before I get into any specific suggestions, though, I just want to say that it looks like maybe (at least) part of your problem is that you're trying to be good at too many things. Right now, you're trying to be a primary divine caster, a melee combatant, and tank. 9 level casters can usually be good at anything, but only temporarily and with enough prep time, and that's mostly about spell selection- you can't build to be good at everything all of the time, but with a few rounds to buff and the right spells (or enough mythic points for multiple inspired spell uses) you can be good at anything while you're buffed. In a game like this (with a high point buy and all the extra goodies from mythic and whatnot), you should be able to be good at two things all the time but sometimes that requires specific builds (that may or may not match the feel you want). So, I'm going to start by suggesting a really simple tweak to Merixia as she is now, then a bigger tweak (that has some clear similarities to Verene's suggested changes), and then offer a build that really leans into Wisdom (and would probably be the biggest change).

Seizing the bridge between there and Southbank would stop any reinforcements from coming, although, it would also cut off the enemies' escape route, which is a double edged sword. It would also ensure we have an avenue for advancement after the hill is taken; if they destroy that bridge we'd be stuck encamped on the hill, burning through food and water, until we could build boats or another bridge to move the army across."

There is this other Tower, or fort, or whatever on the top of the hill... we could use flight and invisibility to land on top of, or inside, that and fight our way down and out: that saves the army from having to lay siege to it, and could be a nice boost to morale when they see it taken? That would be my second choice if the bridge doesn't seem a high enough priority, though, obviously, the decision is Commander Tirabade's to make."
"It seems," Azira offers, hoping to help move a decision along, "that we have some consensus about the army assaulting Paradise Hill first.
