I remember looking at this three years or so, when Ultimate Campaign came out, and I really thought it was neat that the book included Prestige.
Now, some of it is going to be overpowered and needs to be kept out, but I think that some of the Prestige awards in Ultimate Campaign could fit into PFS with no problem. All that would be needed would be to banhammer a couple of them (leadership for a day? goodbye) but Vanities are really fun and a lot of them seem on the level with those in the Pathfinder Society Field Guide and the Pathfinder Society Primer.
Also, my Calistrian wants to be an anti-Aspis Vindicator. How many Sczarni-now-Exchange folks would enjoy the role playing of a Palm Greaser?
It would enhance the campaign, in my opinion.

There seem to be a lot of third party, unofficial resources or utilities for PFS out there that I occasionally run across, that don't seem to have a central link or connection. I figured I should check the general discussion to see what's out there.
Is there any resource that can help to track credit earned by player and character? For example, a few years back when I played both local game day and in a home group, I kept a spreadsheet that would track sanctioned content, if a PC had played or GM'd it, and grouped PCs by our home group of players. I moved it up to Google Docs at one point, but it left something to be desired.
I've been thinking about scaling that approach onto the net in both depth (allowing scanned chronicle sheet archival, replayable scenario credit tracking, etc.) and breadth (one player to multiple groups) that a common group --say a home group or a FLGS group-- can add members that commonly attend and check who has played what to help with event planning. But, to avoid redundant effort, I'm curious whether there is a public tracking system where you can set up groups and track whether a PFS # has played and/or GM'd a scenario, whether the scenario is replayable, and so on. I've tried a few times to see whether the Paizo session reporting on a given non-me player's PC is public, and I've never found a way to see another user's characters' reported session history.
I just realized that I had previously asked this question in the wrong forum, so I am re-asking this here:
I was just looking at the CRB and once a human character hits 35, age penalties start applying. Is it an assumption that the campaign's characters age in real time, and that the age penalties start to apply as well?

Creating the discussion thread for PFS PbP Gameday 3 - 5x08 - The Confirmation [DLS PFS]

This is the recruitment thread for my PFS online Game day #3 play by post for PFS scenario 5x08 - The Confirmation. I was planning on running this before realizing that it was an online game day, so bonus! Since I was planning on running this for a group of friends, I have 3 seats reserved already, but if any of those opt out I will open them back up.
Expected start date is Nov. 1; I honestly expect that things would run more smoothly during weekdays, since weekends tend to have variable commitments for everybody.
I've ran a single PbP before, which can be found here, if you are curious. I'll be running the scenario at one or two posts per day. I will be posting links to images (portraits, maps, so on), and I will be using scenario maps with a grid overlayed on top with a coordinate system similar to Battleship (i.e.: "I move from A-10 to A-12, then to C-12, to avoid an AoO"), which I will update when rounds are completed. If I don't see a response from a player in a timely fashion, I will presume that they hold action.
Since this is an infinitely replayable scenario, if you have played before, please let me know and try not to let that interfere too much.
Finally, I strongly encourage signups to give the Occult Adventures Playtest classes a whirl. I would really like to see one or three of them in action, and will award 'seats' with a bias toward Occult classes.
Signup ends soon, and I am aiming for 6 players.
I have played a few sessions with a few different Nackle gnomes at the table, and I have gotten the impression that this is a "thing" beyond a handful of players with a family of gnomes. Can anyone shed some light on the gist of the whole Nackle thing? Is there a history to it or something? Google is not helpful in my search for enlightenment.
I know that options exist for some classes to have the ability to tap into other spell lists for lower level spells.
I am looking for a PFS-legitimate way for a (human) Calistrian warpriest to access two bard spells: Beguiling Gift and Unnatural Lust. Both spells are level 1 bard spells, also on other spell lists at 1 or 2. The purpose is almost completely for flavor.
This character is already taking a two-level dip into other classes, and a third level dip would really throw off character progression. I'm looking for options for acquiring either spell without a dip into bard.
Any suggestions?
After looking at the ACG, It seems like the VAST majority of new magic items were just panache or bloodrage support. This left me sad, since there are 8 other classes in the book. I'd love to see a Warpriest equivalent of Monk's Robe or an Archanist's version of Ring of Arcane Mastery.
What else feels left out from the ACG magic items?
Please cancel my Pathfinder Roleplaying Game core book subscription.
I am not interested in the upcoming Monster Codex, and I am undecided about announced products after it.
I know that these are not currently allowed in the additional resources, but I am curious whether anyone else thinks that some of the Prestige awards in the U. Cam book would be worth including in PFS. Obviously not all are ok (such as donation of gold to yield PP), but I think some of them might be nice to allow into the campaign. I wonder if it was just a case where cutting them all out was easier.
Does anyone else have thoughts on this?

I just noticed the following under the Dark Wings (Su) bloodline power in my PDF copy:
Advanced Class Guide, page 21, Infernal, Dark Wings wrote: Dark Wings (Su): At 12th level, when entering a bloodrage you can choose to have batlike wings grow from your back, giving you a fly speed of 60 feet with average maneuverability. At 16th level, your fly speed increases to 80 feet with good maneuverability. At 20th level, your fly speed increases to 80 feet with good maneuverability. Emphasis mine. So... what is the intended difference between level 16 and level 20?
So I'm just throwing this out there... any news on when we might get the new factions added to characters on the message board? I just noticed the lack thereof when adding a new character.
I ask because of messages from the VCs and whatnot from last year.
Please cancel my Pathfinder comics subscription, Pathfinder Companion subscription and Pathfinder Campaign Setting subscription effective immediately.
I've waited a while since the one or two times I've contacted CS about an item not showing up it has done so a day or two later.
Order 2972486, placed Jan 9, 2014 and shipped Jan 13, 2014 has not been received, and it is now over a month since shipment.
I would like to cancel my Player Companion subscription (according to my subscriptions page, this would be effective with People of the Sands and Bastards of Golarion, both estimated for February).
Also, I would like to cancel my Adventure Path Subscription after #78, Wrath of the Righteous #6 (according to my subscriptions page, the next shipment is going to be parts 5 and 6, as well as Mummy's Mask 1; I am not interested in the Mummy's Mask AP).
Since the last two parts of the Wrath of the Righteous AP have not yet been published, is it too early to ask for the AP cancellation?
Order # 2912441 has been pending for two weeks. Can you provide some insight on what is going on with the order? The payment authorization has gone through twice now, but the funds never captured.
Some life events are happening and I will have to taper down my subscriptions. Therefore, please cancel my ongoing Campaign Setting subscription.
Please also perform all of the following that are possible on order # 2816649:
- Remove the Campaign Setting subscription item ("Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Towns of the Inner Sea (PFRPG)") from this order
- Change the shipping to "Cheapest (Usually Standard Postal)"
- Retry payment.

Last night my home game group just finished Chapter 1 of Rise of the Runelords. I printed off some chronicles and asked for some PFS numbers from players and found some things that I didn't expect:
- I went into the reporting system to report and found that the only option for reporting is "#1–6: Rise of the Runelords (OGL/PFRPG)" with one item underneath it: "Pathfinder Adventure Path: Rise of the Runelords Anniversary Edition (PFRPG)". The other APs have each of the 6 chapters split up by AP volume number.
Am I seriously only allowed to report on RotRL once the entire campaign has ended, but free to report the other APs as needed?
- I may have had some misunderstanding about the house rule credit application. Since this is a home game with house rules, the Guide to Pathfinder Society Organized Play says that we have to use pregen rules for applying credit.
Since chapter 1 is a levels 3-5 chronicle, are my players not allowed to receive the chronicle on a character that is already at-level? For example, I as a GM have a characters who are level 2, 3, 4 and 7. Is my level 2 the only one who could receive it (or a new character), or could it go to the 3 or the 4 characters? I have at least one player whose only character is level 5, and I just want to verify whether or not that character can receive the PFS credit.

I'm running a home game where one of my players is a dwarf fighter clanking around with a tower shield. This player has a good level of system mastery.
We are at lower levels, and in a few encounters now, he has planted the tower shield to grand himself total cover, using up the standard action. If he's at a choke point, or something similar, he will be impervious to attack, but believes that he will be able to make attacks of opportunity against anyone he threatens, since the tower shield grants one-way total cover for its wielder.
My question is whether the tower shield user should be able to make attacks of opportunity against anyone directly in front of the planted shield.
Ultimate Equipment, page 14, "Tower Shield" wrote: As a standard action, however, you can use a tower shield to grant you total cover until the beginning of your next turn. When using a tower shield in this way, you must choose one edge of your space. That edge is treated as a solid wall for attacks targeting you only. You gain total cover for attacks that pass through this edge and no cover for attacks that do not pass through this edge (see cover, Core Rulebook 195). The shield does not, however, provide cover against targeted spells; a spellcaster can cast a spell on you by targeting the shield you are holding. You cannot bash with a tower shield, nor can you use your shield hand for anything else. RAW, he reads that as saying that that he is the sole beneficiary of the cover; to me, RAI, that means that someone (allies) behind him does not also get total cover, not that the cover is like a one-way mirror.
I don't see much question on this on the message boards, and this player's reasoning is that the -2 penalty to attacks and the ACP of -10 is balanced to offset the benefit of being able to AoO from behind an impenetrable shield.
I don't want to rule it out completely by GM fiat; I want to have a basis within the rules if I do say AoO's are not allowed. So I'm curious how others read the tower shield rules.
Male Human Sorcerer 2, Cleric 1
This is the out-of-character discussion thread.
One thing I'd like to point out is that a play-by-post formatting thread worth taking a look at is DH's Guide to Play By Post gaming.
Also worth note is that if you want auditable dice rolls, you could try Invisible Castle, but I'm not too worried about you guys doing so.
I am going to try to set this up as a side game for our local Pathfinder group. This is the first PBP I've set up, so please no applications except for those who have already been invited.

Yes, I'm going there. This weapon is actually something I want to use as character concept and image, not knowing what I was looking for until I finally found it in Ultimate Equipment. Please keep in mind my target here is PFS. I want to be able to point to this thread if a PFS GM audits or questions or what have you. No house rules.
Jiggy posted questions about a year ago (see below) that I think went insufficiently answered. I have a few others, as well.
Tekko-kagi (iron claw)
Good classes / builds for using a tekko-kagi?
And another for good measure: Tekko-Kagi [iron claw] clarification
First off, the character concept is based off of an action figure and cartoon and comic character by Larry Hama. Second, I have all the usual questions about armor check penalty, enchantment, proficiency, yadda, yadda, yadda:
1) If I wear one, is there a proficiency issue w/out the exotic proficiency, as a buckler? Since buckles have no needed proficiently, but it is not a buckler per se, this is worth raising.
2) Given that this thing is 'like a buckler', if the weapon is masterwork, does that give a +1 to hit as well as remove any possible ACP?
3) After much use, I find that this weapon rawks. I enchant it to +5. Does the buckler aspect gain enchantment bonuses to AC?
3A) I presume the costs to enchant are all weapon-based as it is ultimately a weapon, compared to the suggestion Jiggy got (here) that masterwork and enchantment costs would be both the shield and weapon costs combined (450gp).
4) Since it can function as a buckler, can I make this a bizarre +3 defiant, deadly tekko-kagi?
4A) I presume negative to 4), but it's worth asking about a shield/weapon.
5) Looking at the item, its description, and real-world examples, this thing immediately refers my brain to brass knuckles and cestus. Normally, I would think that this weapon is wielded and thus one could not carry or wield another item with that hand as the item is not written in such a way. Yet, the buckler clause again leads me to ask an off-the-wall question: could you keep the thing in buckler mode (and accordingly lose the buckler AC benefits) and use your off-hand for Two-Weapon Fighting, using a bow, grasping a weapon with two hands, throwing shuriken, etc.?
6) Does using this as a buckler somehow invoke Two-Weapon Fighting in and of itself? i.e.: Do I take a -2 penalty (or -4 or -6) just for having it equipped, wielding it, yet as a buckler?
[Edit]: Filled in some URLs and added a 6th question.
