Background:
Growing up in the Garundi community of Solku, Jakari of the Three Fountains spent much of his childhood in fear of the frequent gnoll incursions, but found comfort in the tales of heroism and adventure told by his clan elders. Hoping to follow the example of the folk heroes he so admired, as soon as Jakari came of age he joined the militia to fight off the White Canyon gnolls.

During his time of service he saw many of his comrades and friends lose their lives in battle. This diminished his enthusiasm for war somewhat, but he became all the more determined to live up to his heroic ideals, even if the means by which he had hoped to achieve this were no longer to his taste.

Once the gnoll threat seemed broken two years ago, Jakari left the militia and retreated once more into the folktales that had inspired him in his youth. It was not long after this when a pair of Pathfinders, on their way to some newly unearthed ruin, made a stop in a tavern that Jakari often frequented. Hearing them speak of their exploits, he couldn’t help but draw parallels with the deeds of his mythical idols, and found himself excited by the prospect of travelling the world as part of such a group.

Before the Pathfinders left on their way, he begged them to allow him to go with them. They were at first reluctant, but found it hard to say no to his enthusiasm and soon agreed to allow him to join them as a porter. The expedition proved straightforward, and Jakari proved himself competent enough that the pair offered to help him gain membership at the Grand Lodge in Absalom.

Having accepted their offer, Jakari now finds himself a full member of the Pathfinder Society and his first assignment brings him back close to home...
