Wincing at Pajet's suggestion on needing to check with the ones that hold less holy values, Farvil follows the group out of the temple and into the tower where Burne and Rufus are supposedly located.

"The acolytes have behaved exemplary. We will prove ourselves by solving the bandit problem and we will speak again after that if you remember additional details. Since we are airly new in this hommlet, could you please suggest a place to start our inquiry or a person who knows more about the problem?"

There wasn't anyone else in audition. Was he preparing for us all this time?

Not impressed by the welcome they were giving, Farvil looks awkwardly at the seat but as more people follow Pajet's example, he concedes and draws one of the chairs.

If you would excuse my rudeness, your holiness, could you explain to us why the matter is so discrete. Preferring adventurers instead of soldiers and keeping it secret even from members of your own order could give the impression that we would not be following Iomedae's exact path.

Farvil follows Pajet and Nex to the bookshelves then draws one of the books whose title looked odder. He then places himself cross-legged on the rug and skims through it ignoring the chairs and the couch.

No sign of disappointment could be seen on Farvil's face when hearing that the trainer of acolytes had known nothing about their missions but he let out a smile once their quest had been confirmed.
"Yes, I see it is quite well kept I hope it will inspire many such as yourself. I'm sure Terjon will be pleased by the warm welcome you offered us."

Hearing about the slippery stairs Farvil hastily put his boots back on and started following the acolyte.

Farvil takes a short look inside the village hall but seeing nobody there he continues the walk along the others towards the church.

Before entering the church of Iomedae he takes his boots off (regardless of how dusty the floor is) and places them next to the entrance. He then forces a cough to grab the attention of whoever was laying in prayer there.

9 is actually the village hall, which, outside of the States serves a more general purpose in smaller villages. But since we're passing right next to it, it wouldn't hurt to know more about it as we move towards 20. We might need to backtrack in order to meet the village elder at 27, if we don't find the proper answers at the temple.

I hope I'm not the only one who cannot find the map link.

"For a village that's supposed to be in distress they're not doing all that bad." Farvil comments after glancing left and right then nods at the woman not wanting to draw a lot of attention to themselves.

"Our hosts might have already prepared accommodations for us. It's quite unlikely we'll take them by surprise." After throwing a short look at each of the people around him Farvil adds: "... in that regard."

Monk 1 | HP 11 | Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +5 | Init +3

Just waking up from his short slumber Farvil looks at his surroundings and tries to pick up on the conversation between his new acquaintances.

"Yes, as master Nex had pointed out we should first seek to ask the people with authority what are the real troubles around the city before questioning the simple folk. We might be surprised at how different the answers might be. "

"We're just presuming at this point that the real problem is the bandits, it could be totally different. Actually, I forgot to ask, I've noticed you in the market, you were like bees hopping from flower to flower, in search of something. Have you fetched any information on what we might be against once we get there?"

Monk 1 | HP 11 | Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +5 | Init +3

Farvil just shrugged at Pajet's remarks and let her be on her way seeing she wouldn't get in any immediate threat bothering the vendors and curious girls.

Whistling a jolly tune he makes he wonders the streets a bit more seeing what other goods the halflings had to offer, how their build their homes if they exhibit some local customs. Once he felt the hamlet had nothing new to offer he returned to their designated rendezvous not bothering putting on his hood to expose the badge beneath it.

He was not sure he would be able to remember the names of all those people but their figures were clear to him and would not have a problem spotting them even in dim light.

Farvil takes the plumbs and instead of sharing the plums with the girl at the other end of the street he gives the half-orc one of them. "This gnome sure has a quaint behavior. "

He leans on the wall of the building with his arms crossed, watching as the one named Nex and one of the white-haired women try to get what information they can out of the halflings. Taking a bite from the fruit he continued. "They're looking somewhat worried. I wonder if they've found something useful about our next destination or anything new as to why we've been called."

Seeing the gnome losing her balance for a second Farvil jump to help her, grabbing her by the arm. "Are you alright?"

He was surprised to hear the half-orc asking questions about the badge. "Indeed, it seems the count has sent summons to every corner of the country. It's not that I don't trust your prowess in battle, seeing that you're well equipped with a blade and pointy things; but do you know by any chance why the viscount or count has chosen such a unique way of sending help?"

He watches patiently as Pajet tries to buy fruit provisions from the vendor and begins to wonder if he's hearing a weird form of haggling or if the gnome's using a coded language only she and the vendor know.

Getting closer to Pajet such that his voice will not be heard from a distance he says: "Is he one of your old acquaintances? Why are you scaring away his customers?"

Monk 1 | HP 11 | Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +5 | Init +3

Pajet, you are absolutely right. I think I might have been trying different combinations in PcGen added Panther Claw (which I don't consider a style of its own, more of an enhancement) and had not verified its math.

I'll remove Panther Claw and see if I wish to add it next level.

Monk 1 | HP 11 | Fort +5, Ref +5, Will +5 | Init +3

Farvil salutes each bearer of the badge and wonders how could a diverse group like them could have acquired the badges? He wonders if it's possible that more of them have gotten them the same way the gnome had.

"Farvil's the name, I'm pleased to make your acquaintance. It seems we all have received the same information. Not much to go by... I was sent here by the head of my order. No idea who this count or viscount is but if his holyness considered that he is need of my help, I will do his bidding.

Farvil looks around the town in search of other members who had the badge. It was easy to spot the strangers in that hamlet.

The roads are treacherous nowadays. Even halflings add to your numbers and to your chances of reaching your destination unscathed. I think you judge the armored men too harshly. Just cause they like to keep to their own business does not make them thugs. Farvil tries to add his two cents on the events unfolding around them. He is taken aback by the speed in which the gnome tries to detach from the newly formed group and tries to offer his protection: "Hey little one, if you go looking for trouble you should always be prepared for the worse. I could watch your back."

"The man with the wolf and the white-haired girls would be easy to spot if need be, but a quick gnome like that...

"Let's try to regroup at the tavern. Try not to get in any trouble." Farvil says to the rest of the group before heading after the gnome.

A muscular black haired man roaming the streets of Dockshire wearing a darkly colored cloak having three symbols: on his shoulders ( a crane and a panther ) and the back of the neck the Hommlets crest. The hood of the cloak was over his head making the badge visible to every passerby.

For an untrained eye, he seems to be holding a weirdly shaped walking stick with the top covered in leather. However, if one would get closer and have a look at a crack in the leather he would be able to see it for what it really is: a glaive.

I'm sure the reverend archimandrite had his reasons, sending me as his representative to that faraway village must a great honor. Farvil kept saying to himself as the halflings, half his size, were passing back and forth on the road with the tavern.

He kept going around in circles in that village for hours and had not seen not even one wearing that crest on their clothes.

Maybe, they aren't wearing it. Or maybe they're all halflings and have it pinned on the back the same as me. He pondered checking the back of nearby halflings.

Level 1 is fine for me as well. Although power progression in play by post campaigns could be very slow, I prefer to take all matters one step at a time.
