Hey folks, just to let you know, this weekend is easter ;) which I am sure you know as most countries get stat holidays around it. I will be driving this weekend to visit my parents and some extended family => 13 h journey. As such starting from tomorrow I may not be able to post until monday/tuesday. I will see how it go, but just so that you know.

In terms of timing we are in a reasonable spot so should end up without any problem before the end of April

GM Farol -- Can you explain why it was a crit against Dr. Lazarus? Looks like they had an attack roll of 30 vs an AC of 26. Even off-guard, it wouldn't be a crit, right?

Since I was tough math on the best Goblin University in the whole Absalom, When you subtract 30 - (26 ff) so effectively 24 it gives you 16!

Jokes aside, I was writing the post in the morning, and did not manage to finish it, time went out, so I previewed it, was certain that the roll was a crit and wrote it as such, then saved my post in a document and finished it off the following day without checking my math :( My bad, Will retract it, and patch the wounds.

There is this site with some information about it. I learned it the hard way, when I volountered to help with slides for special a PBP convention ago. I did not know that Doug did it for lower tier. So he had amazingly cool looking tokens with numbers and mine looked like pulled from under hienas tail.

I think he uses Photoshop (I saw gif videoes of him doing it), I tried to replicate it with google slides and grooping but I guess the key part is to move 'face' of the monster to the side so that number fits.

The answer is no. Flanking rules:

'A creature is flat-footed (taking a –2 circumstance penalty to AC) to melee attacks from creatures that are flanking it.'

So if you stand next to a creature, you can provide flanking to others, but if you are throwing knife, the creature would not be flat footed to you

The PFS advancement was one level’s worth, but our characters made it to 4th. In retrospect, should we have advanced that far?

Yes.

The amount of PFS credit is less than the advancement of the characters in-game, and the scaling factor is roughly 1/3. So, playing 3 levels through an Adventure gives 1 level of PFS credit; and playing 20 levels of an Adventure Path gives 6 levels of PFS credit.

The given rationale is that not all of the material in an Adventure (Path) meets PFS standards, so that, if one were to only play the PFS-appropriate material, it'd be about 1/3 of the total material.

Yeah, What Watery said. The AP actually suggest that you could lvl up to lvl 5, but since the fights were not that difficult I decided to not go there.

I think the AP is more dedicated for new players, it is also an AP for 4 players so some of the tactics that you took would not work with less players (or could be a bit harder to pull off).

Hey folks, so let me write couple of things as well

- This game 'started' for me as a GM in June 2022, and we are finishing it end of May 2023. It took us a year to go through most of the adventure, I would consider it to be average speed. We had some slower and faster moments, but I think it was ok.
- Personally I found the fights to be to easy, I tried to adapt to the 6 ppl team, but I felt like it never posed a real treat, the only moment when we started to see people falling into dying was this final part. I guess it is still considered to be the easy adventure for beginners. It was definitely hard for me to assess before how much to crank the difficulty, I went with arithmetic increasing the difficulty by 50% (either by adding more creatures or making couple of them elite).
- I definitely feel that I could have done better job running this. I could have made the NPC's better, and introduce some longer threads to weave into the adventure. I completely did not took advantage of that. There were some flavors like Ollie could have been more visible and interact with you more, Blue Finley the same (I wanted for him to stick around to see that through), but I feel like I had not enough of good ideas how to do it, and in the end I did not. Generally I find it to be missed opportunity from that angle.
- I liked your team, I enjoyed the banters and some conversations about the castle and fishing shack. It was enjoyable to read your posts
- Overall I am happy that I took it on, it gave me some fun time posting

- Above all I am super happy that I saw it to the end, as at few points I was not certain that I will be able to do it, and I hate the idea of dropping a game.

Anyways, that's my 2c's

Also in PF2 how did they know that she was born parthenogenically? Was it that Kesstraka was simply very similar to mother? Or did father claim that child is not his, and mother claimed parthenogenically? Sorry diverging ;)

"Although they are referred to as 'lizardfolk' by most other humanoids, the name they use for themselves is iruxi. The simple villages that most outsiders associate with iruxi are the homes of migrants in outlying regions. In true centers of iruxi civilization, such as Ekkeshikaar, they build impressive complexes of glass and stone. It is rumored that a vast empire of dinosaur-riding iruxi, known as Droon, dominates southern Garund, in territory beyond any maps common to the Inner Sea region."

@Mary - yeah the hypnotic stare should be gone.

@All - tomorrow one of my pets will have a surgery, as a result I don't expect to have time and be in a mental state that would allow me to post here. Just so that you know ...

This is the final fight so that you know...

@GM, today I was chatting on discord with someoen about GM'ing, and how I find nice when GM tries to adjust the story to the characters, this is the answer that I got

I've played in one or two Society games like that (GM Waterysoup on the Paizo boards did an amazing game of 1-03: Escaping the Grave for my Lastwall Refugee mage),

I just wanted to pass the credit along ;)

Farol, you running the next scenario in the arc?

Let me give you a soft no. For now I try to finish my games in a timely fashion. I am going through personal turbulence, and there are days when I can't post and then there are days when I don't want to think about PBP :( So my plan is to regain some balance before I GM again.

I found something extremely grim and disturbing in the little girl being cursed and giving her arm. Nice post @GM! (I am congratulating the emotions and not grimness of the post).

Occultism, DC23: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30

Scarred One seems worried, he walks a bit irritated and annoyed. He tries to comfort the girl but with nothing better, he offers her herbal tee to drink. Then he makes few sacred symbols under and around her bed and infuses it with powers of nature.

As he looks at the girl Scarred One keeps carving in a piece of wood, without even looking at the item. At the end of the night he gives it to Yan.

"That is for you Worddancer." The statue depicts a member of Roseguard but it holds some of resemblance to Yan

130 are you certain? I count 110 with another 10 at most for elevation. That's second range increment and with Hunt Prey that would mean no penalty. At any rate that's my action. If it misses it misses.

Am i sure? Ofc I am sure! SO I counted again and it is 110 ;) My brain was certain that 10 squares is 60 ft ;)

We'll hold off till the end; there are 11/12 successes so we should be wrapping up tonight.

This was my 156th GM’d scenario & 10th Special, and I have my reviews complete. I'll be submitting my audit to Paizo for my 5th glyph ponce it's reported. Thanks for being here everyone! I know there was some frustration from the dice, but it was an epic battle.

Dice are dice. I loved the game, so thank you for it. Personally I like fights that take a bit longer than 2-3 rounds. There is actually time and point to casting heroism on someone, pull out a potion and drink it and such

Just a note, as I forgot about it. Casting this spell made Rawiri once again into Moderate curse and as a result he is concealed

Have we stalled?

Yes we did.

I wrote it couple of months ago, but my life situation have changed and I have more days that are extremely busy. I am dedicated to take this game towards the end, but days like yesterday will happen. I switched jobs, so am dealing with that, on top of that I am dealing with moving to different country, found a permanent apartment, now need to move my furniture, play around the schedule. I am flying between countries helping to wrap up the things on both ends => that make my days long and filled with activities that I have no experience with ;)

All of the above will take its toll. I am sorry to say that but expect that situations to happen, and maybe I will positively surprise you.

FYI, I will be away tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday (UTC +8), for a company summer outing (yey!), so I will not be able to post for this game. I might be able to post on Sunday evening when I get home if I am not yet tired, but I can't promise to do that so the sure day I can update for the game is on Monday. Kindly bot me or be delayed when necessary. Thank you.

Hey Henri, thanks for letting us know. I hope you had a great time.

Folks. we are one week in. I would like to emphasis one thing: I do expect for players to post at least 1 per weekday. I would like to thank you to those who did, and bring to the attention that some have not been successful in that task.

On a separate note, since we are 'close' to an hour of gametime I would give the hero point to Brekovi, for being super active at the ic channel.
