Kyra lets out a heavy sigh of relief as the demon falls to their blades. She waves any any further healing, allowing any others a chance to close their remaining wounds. "You already saved me on the battlefield, brother." She smiles and puts her hand upon his shoulder, letting it linger there for a few moments as she looks in his eyes. She grabs him into a tight hug and holds him close for a few moments, whispering into his ear. "Sometimes it seems like a dream... you being here I mean. After that minotaur, I thought you were gone forever." She kisses him on the cheek and steps back, blushing as she turns away.

She cleans the gore from Dancing Phoenix as she wanders over to assist Alorah in utilizing her own magic to clean the disgusting filth from this holy place.

Shoot, I forgot the demon is Large size so the 5' step isn't going to get me out of his threat range. In that case, she will actually attempt to cast her spell Defensively to avoid provoking an Attack of Opportunity.

Kyra sees the massive demon looming over her, swaying upon her feet and barely still in the fight. She twirls and spins as she tries to cast a spell to Vanish from sight, but the demon is too distracting and the spell fails. Her eyes widen in fear slightly, but she continues her erratic twirling dance as she attempts to slip away without leaving herself open to an attack.

Those are very cool ideas, Kelden! I like how they all had a theme to them. I always hated seeing those threads that were “Okay, but stay with me... take 2 levels of this, 1 of this, 3 levels of this, then 2 of this PrC, and then 2 of his... etc. and by 15th level you can do this one thing in combat that is super cool!”

But what about all the time in between? I would always ask, and none of those folks could ever have a good explanation to it. I prefer organic characters and I feel like those ideas you presented were organic and gimmicky. There’s a lot of PCs that I feel are based around a gimmick instead of a theme.

Kyra dodges and ducks around the clumsy blows of the ghouls. Her eyes flare a bright green as a similar color glow seeps along the edge of Dancing Phoenix just as she cuts the blade deep into one of the ghouls! She then twirls away in a flurry of colorful silks as she seeks to keep the ghouls from trapping her into a flank. As she comes to a stop near Kelden she winks at him with a smile.

The strange golden tears flow more freely as she watches Arthas claiming Radiance for his own, the realization that Thetin was more than likely dead instead of just captive hitting her hard. She nods grimly. "We are all with you, Sir Arthas. I hope that you are as stalwart a companion as Thetin. We were all touched by the power of the Wardstone at its destruction. We are the heroes of Kenabres." She holds her head high as she gestures to her companions. "Whatever lies beyond cannot stand against our fury. And I do not look for the dawn," she locks eyes with Arthas and he can see the burning fury in her glowing green eyes. "I am the Dawn."

Gwen takes a moment to study the small battlefield as she positions herself for a better grapple. She moves forward and grabs the first enemy standing before her by the heavy armor and without issue yanks him out of the doorway back into the room with her companions. "You're mine now, boy. Shouldn't have worn all that heavy armor, because it's not going to save you from me." She whispers into his ear.

Reynwyn nods to his companions and removes a book that is pitch black, as if it absorbs the very light that reaches it... As he flips open the pages, a wispy darkness seems to seep out to dissipate slowly like the mists around them. He leaves the book open to a certain page with the ritual instructions. ”This will take me 10 minutes if you want to get into position. I will message Revjak when it is complete.”

His fingers then begin to trace dark, glowing symbols in the air around him where they hang and drip liquid shadows. Each symbol is unique and complex taking several moments each to complete their pattern. Once they were all complete, Reynwyn points towards the first tent they designated as their target and swipes his hands through the arcane symbols! A cold wind whips up around him and then moves up around the tent, where it swirls around silently...

Reynwyn sits up and rubs his hands over his face a few times to clear his thoughts. 'Such an odd dream. Much like the cryptic dreams the Raven Queen used to send, but different. What does it mean?' Frustrated by his inability to decipher his dream, Reynwyn reaches down into his backpack to remove his own journal to make some annotations while the memory was still fresh when he notices something odd... His fingers brush against uncle Jareth's journal and it feels bitterly cold to the touch. He pulls out what he assumed was uncle Jareth's journal, but what emerges from his backpack is a black, leather tome with silver gilding and a metal clasp in the shape of a raven. A strange black, wispy mist leaks out from the pages to quickly dissipate into nothingness looking very much like... shadows...

Reynwyn immediately looks around the room to see if anything appeared out of place and he sets the book down to rush over to the door, which was still locked. He frowns and he goes back over to sit on the bed, staring at the strange book. He picks up it, opens it, and with a gasp he realizes quickly it was still his uncle's journal, but it was.... different! He found several pages that had not been there before, giving him instructions on how to cast several more cantrips than he'd known before! And the next several pages appeared to be arcane rituals to spells... he suddenly laughs aloud as he recognizes the rituals. He understood the true nature behind Jareth's journal now, it was so much more than just an outline of his journey and discoveries! This book of shadows is where he inscribed some of his abilities and powers, but to unlock more of it would require more research and time. Time was one thing he did not have much of at the moment as he had a job to do. Once in Waterdeep he would be able to devote more of it to his research, but for now... He smiles again as he flips closed the book and slips it back into the pack.

A few moments later he headed down into the main room for some breakfast and to meet up with the others. Once below he calls out to Spider. "Spider, my good man, I could do with some a hot breakfast. I suspect the next two days will be full of trail rations."

Piety, LMAO, I love the unintended sass.

Reynwyn peaks up from his reading of the spellbook they found within the cavern of Shar when Spider addresses him. "Hmm, yes? I am sorry, goodsir, was thoroughly engrossed in this book." He listens to the drink selections a moment, then smiles at the least. "A mug of the porter, my good man! I enjoy a nice wine here and there, but nothing goes with roasted meats quite as well as a dark beer." He flips the spellbook closed and turns his attention to those around him and their stories. He takes a platter and a small loaf of bread, scooping out of of the insides of the loaf before pouring in some gravy. He then places some meats on the platter, then dips it into the gravy. "Something my father taught me once. He spent a lot of time in the wilds between towns and did not always have a bowl." A sudden thought took him. 'I wonder if any of these men have ever met father?'

Reynwyn spends sometime reading through the journal he keeps before stashing it away in his backpack and then laying his head upon the pack as a pillow. Jareth flies up to a perch as watches over the room silently with Piety. During his slumber Reynwyn is visited by his Lady, the masked female to whom he is beholden. She embraces the young half-elf and leans in to whisper into his ear for a time. When the embrace ends she smiles behind the mask and runs her arms around his body as a suit of fine, blackened mail suddenly appears around Reynwyn's torso. He looks down in awe before coming back to the waking world. As his eyes open, Jareth suddenly flutters over to land upon his shoulders and looks at him expectantly.

Reynwyn stares back at Jareth for a few moments. "What?" he finally asks. Jareth twitches its head to the side before pecking Reynwyn lightly upon the shoulder a few times. "Oh!" Reynwyn seems to get the hint and repeats the hand gestures he saw in his dream as some of the ambient light is drawn in around his hands in the form of substantial shadow-stuff. As he draws his hands down around his torso, the shadow-stuff begins to form tightly around his body in the shape of large feathers. "Interesting..."

Combat!

Reynwyn waits for an opportunity and then attempts to fire a bolt of his black energy into the room at the first zombie he sees!

So... the more I read about Pathfinder 2E, the less I'm liking it. Not a fan of goblins suddenly becoming a Core race without a better explanation than the one presented in the Blog post, plus I really am not digging the four levels of Failure/Success, not the Condition levels. They are becoming EXTREMELY rules/number heavy from what I can tell.

I was hoping to pitch an idea for a campaign to start with the Playtest rules for PF2E and offering anyone in my two games a guaranteed spot if anyone wanted to join; however, I've recently picked up the D&D5E rules and have really started to enjoy the simplicity that WotC came up with and the older school feel of the game. (Plus I've recently become hooked on Critical Role and that might be part of what's fueling this desire.) Anyway, I have an idea in mind of building the base campaign alongside the players (I have a very solid, beautiful map to use) by allowing anyone participating to come up with the ideas, names, locations, and history of the area from where they come. I haven't come up with any solid plan other than doing a little sandbox action. Would any of you be interested in such a venture?

I would highly suggest looking at Duel-Wielding with those two weapons. By themselves, you are not going to be putting up much damage alone. They would work great as a pair though, which is typically how I've seen such weapons work.

As far as Bravery and Shield go, Bravery only provides you a bonus versus Fear effects, not all Will saves. There are much better options to look at for boosting your Will saves (traits, feats, etc). It does suck a bit to lose your shield proficiency; however, you are going to be focusing on Dex and Int (especially if you go the route of Student of War) and that single attribute focus will definitely assist you in keeping your AC up.

So, in your opinion anyone that involved in a war (in any way shape or form) should be considered an evil person. How do you feel about Draftees? Conscripts? People fighting against someone seeking to kill them and their families simply for being alive? You consider them to be evil?

War in of itself is not evil. Some of the things that can happen in a war can be evil; the Nazi Holocaust, the Armenian Holocaust, etc. I suggest you take a walk around in a different part of the world where you don't have "evil" people creating a barrier against the true evil in this world and then rethink your philosophy.

Also, please use punctuation and proper grammar as it is difficult to understand what you are even trying to say in most of your posts...

killing people is evil no matter who is doing it however it is necessary in some cases but that's part of human nature every one is capable of great good but they are also capable of great evil
That's your opinion, it is not a universal fact. I would agree that murder is evil, but killing by default is not. These two things are not by any means the same thing.
that's what murder is killing some one

True murder is the act of killing a person, but while every murder involves killing... not every act of killing involves murder. Also...

Actually, nevermind it's not worth my time or energy. You have your world view and I have mine. You are entitled to yours as I am mine and I think we will just leave it at that.

Very, very excited to hear this news! I am excited to see a new group of characters from the Star Wars universe.

I love me some lightsaber battles as well, but Rogue One easily competes with Empire on my favorite Star Wars films.

It absolutely makes a difference, man. Doing what I do, I carry my back-up gun everywhere I go and especially so if I have my son with me. My wife thinks I'm a little paranoid, but she also hasn't seen the things I've seen and just how quickly things can go from la-de-da to "Omg, this guy is pointing a gun at me."

When I first got home from my deployment in 2008 I hated no having a weapon with me all the time. I started carrying a large knife (luckily Indiana is pretty chill with their knife laws) just for some peace of mind.

True, but it does give you more versatile options. My operative runs with a knife in one hand and a pistol in the other. This way, if they ever get cornered or if I'm threatening an enemy that provokes an AoO... I'm always ready to go!

Trick Attack is its own thing and does not require all the additional rules for the specific skill in question. Otherwise... a Ghost Operative could never utilize their Trick Attack option in Combat and would be absolutely worthless. You are not hiding to gain the Trick Attack per se, but doing something in a stealthy way that helps your attack be more successful.

Delia spots the grindylow and begins to sing a soothing song, directed towards their enemy. The creature finds the lullaby pulling it towards the enchanting slumber...

Move forward towards the beach. Casting Lullaby on the grindylow. Will save DC 14 to resist. If successful, the grindylow gets a -2 Penalty against Nox's spell.

Myriad's eyes open and go through their brief cycle before changing back to their normal vibrant blue. Their gasp and reflexively touch their neck, but find the wound healed. "We thank you, shirren Triskid. Talbot shall not escape us." They stand and rush towards the entryway, the silver liquid coating the front of their face, neck, and clothing in a slightly disturbing manner. "Talbot, we are coming for you!" They shout, but the furious voice that echoes in the tunnels sounds more like an amalgamation of various voices, rather than normal androgynous voice of Myriad...

Move Action to Stand and Move action down the tunnel! Myriad currently has Cover against Talbot.

To my respective GMs and/or players, I am posting this in all my games that I'm running or involved in. I was involved in a force on force incident today during work. I cannot go into details for obvious reasons, but suffice to say no one was seriously injured. I'll be very busy with paperwork for the foreseeable afternoon/evening. If I have time later this evening, I will attempt to get caught up with my games. Otherwise, look for me tomorrow!

Kyra notices that the survivors appear very despondent. "Perhaps a dance to cheer up the troops? Something to distract them from the horrors of the war? Gather everyone around, please." While the troops gather, she changes out of her blood-soaked armor. She then begins a very elegant, but invigorating dance from Sothis in hopes of raising the morale of the men and women that, up until today, had likely believed their deaths to be very imminent.
