Over the past couple of weeks I've had zero motivation to post, because the PbP format doesn't really grip me as much as it used to do. I've enjoyed playing with you for a very long time, and you're an awesome party and GM. However, due to the reason mentioned above, I've decided to withdraw from the game.
Evelyn hears the girl speak, but has no idea what she just said. Alarmed, Evelyn looks at Eostre. "តើនាងបាននិយាយអ្វី?" Aklo:
"|What did she say?" Eostre and Ekan seem to respond to the girl, and Evelyn hopes nothing bad will happen.
Evelyn swallows, her heart skipping a beat when she realizes what the girl is. Her hand shaking ever so slightly, Evelyn grabs hold of Nicat's sleeve and tries to pull him out of the door opening. She tries to not look at the girl, and to close the door as good as its busted lock allows for it. "វាមិនមានប្រាជ្ញាក្នុងការបង្ខំឱ្យទ្វារនេះបើកទ្វារទេ។" Evelyn whispers nervously. "វាមិនចាំបាច់ធ្វើបាបនាងទេ។ សូមឱ្យនាងជាហើយនាងនឹងបានសំរាកនៅពេលដែលយើងសំលាប់ឃាតកររបស់នាង។" Aklo: "It wasn't wise to force this door open," Evelyn whispers nervously. "There's no need to fight her. Let her be, and she will find rest when we slay her murderer."
It's from a zombie shooter I used to play all the time when I was younger; Left 4 Dead 2. The crying girl is known as the witch. The moment you come too close, or do something else that startles her, she'll scream and come running after you. One swipe of her claws and you're down, and she'll continue to lash out until you're dead. First time I encountered her I got the same creepy vibes our characters now have!
Uhm... you mean this crying girl with claws? "Nicat, step back and close that door," Evelyn whispers, her voice strained by the effort to not enter panic mode. Having a very bad gut feeling, Evelyn focuses on the divine energy within her and casts detect undead to find out if the girl is among the living.
Evelyn blinks. She expected a lot to happen, but Nicat somehow kept amazing her. Did he use some kind of enhancing magic to increase his strength? Closing the line, Evelyn follows the others.
I survived, but if that outage was all 'maintenance' then I'm going to call the car accident I was in years ago a 'repair opportunity.' Yeah, I had a feeling their potato server just gave out after crawling at turtle speed for many years.
Everyone survived the maintenance ordeal?
"You seem tired, Conner. Here, let me help you." Evelyn places a hand on Conner's shoulder and casts guidance on him. "Try again," she smiles.
Evelyn quickly catches up with the others. "No idea which door we should take," she whispers. " Let's just open a random one?" Noticing Nicat's gaze is fixed on a certain door, Evelyn heads over there. Raising her buckler to better shield herself, she attempts to open it.

Evelyn, fidgeting with her feet, waits for one of the big guys to open the door. "I wonder what's become of him," she mutters solemnly.
Oh, I can honestly not remember we're doing that! Must've slipped my mind then. In that case I'll have to review my own gear as well!
There's a look of unease on Evelyn's face. "Straight up to the front door it is then..." Evelyn takes out her buckler and begins her approach to the old manor.
Any ideas on what kind of gear I should get myself before we move on? I don't think there's actually any time to upgrade gear. We pressed straight on to the Misgivings, given the fact we have to make haste.

Evelyn bites her lip. "We can't risk it... Though if any of you has a way to confirm the absence of innocents; yes, let's burn it." She shoots a glance at Eostre, because Eostre knows a lot of magic and magic does stuff.
"Thanks," Evelyn says to Ven. She briefly places a hand on the man's arm. "We'll get him," she says reassuringly. Time to deal with my murderous stalker...
Evelyn looks from Nicat to Ven, awaiting a reply from the latter.
"There aren't any bite marks, so I can rule out infection," Evelyn says after examining Ven. "We need to press on to the Misgivings, but we cannot leave them." Evelyn nods at the two infected women. "Maybe if we take them along with us, I can keep them as healthy as possible so their bodies can fight the infection?"
Evelyn looks at the massacres ghouls, then at Ven. "I doubt any of them got close enough to touch you before being dismembered." "Though it may still be a good idea to look you over, just to be safe," she adds, looking at Nicat's mighty soon-to-be father-in-law with a whole new level of respect.
That. Was. AWESOME! xD
Evelyn shows the notes to the others. "Sick and twisted, like the previous messages..." "Shall we check outside, to see why the sounds have stopped? I'm really curious about the rest of the undead. Or worried, rather."
Evelyn placed a hand on Katarina's shoulder. "It was, but don't fret. We'll get you to safety and make sure you'll recover from your disease."
"Not sure what the green potion and cloak do, but the ochre potion's one of magic fang. Ekan, you should take it. It will enhance your unarmed strikes with magic, for a limited time." Evelyn holds out the potion to him. "It may prove useful versus some foes." Evelyn takes the slips of paper and unrolls them, curious to learn if anything's written on them.
Evelyn positions herself in the middle of everyone present and focuses, channeling a wave of positive energy that engulfs and heals all living creatures present inside the room.
She hurries over to the two women and inspects them.
Evelyn clenches her teeth and takes in the pain, both hers and that of her allies. To enable herself to take one more such hit, or worse, she weaves a cure spell that heals most of her own wounds.

Evelyn casts a powerful cure spell and holds it, her free hand now brimming with a bright green light. She moves up to the undead, circling Ekan to avoid provoking an attack, and tries to touch it to deliver the spell.
Evelyn seems thoroughly confused by Ekan's words. "នោះហើយជានាង?!" Aklo:
"That's a she?!" She takes another look at the thing on the stairs and blinks twice.
Once everyone's inside, Evelyn makes sure the front doors are closed behind them.
The creepy thing appears on the stairs and starts talking, but Evelyn has no idea what it's saying. Neither does she have a clue what the thing is, safe for creepy. Neither does she have an idea what Ekan's saying. When the thing points a finger at her, Evelyn figures it won't bother the vulnerable women if she herself moves to the front. So, raising her buckler, Evelyn closes most of the distance between the undead and herself. "អ្វីក៏ដោយដែលអ្នកមាននិងអ្វីដែលអ្នកកំពុងនិយាយអ្នកច្បាស់ជាគួរស្អប់ខ្ពើមដែលមិន គួរមាន!" she shouts defiant. Aklo:
"Whatever you are, and whatever you're saying, you're clearly an abomination that shouldn't exist!" Raising her empty hand into the air and clenching it into a fist, Evelyn summons the positive energy within her. She brings her hand down like a hammer, pointing her index finger at the undead as the energy explodes from her body. "អំណាច Desna បង្ខំអ្នក! ចាប់ផ្តើម, ព្យុះ!" Aklo:
"The power of Desna compels you! Begone, fiend!"
Moving much faster due to Eostre's spell, it takes Evelyn no time at all to reach the farmhouse's front door. "មិនដឹងថាមានអ្វីនៅទីនេះទេប៉ុន្តែសូមរកឱ្យឃើញ!" She places her hand on the handle and pulls the door wide open. Aklo: "No idea what's in here, but let's find out!"
Noticing the smell coming from the farmhouse, Evelyn figures the current fight should be ended as soon as possible. She focuses, and another wave of positive energy envelops all undead within 30 feet.
"ល្អណាស់! ឥឡូវសូមបញ្ចប់នូវអ្វីដែលនៅសល់!" Aklo: "Nice! Now, let's finish the rest!"
Best of luck, Ekan. That sure sounds like a hard situation to deal with.
Evelyn pulls out her buckler as she joins Conner on the front line, making sure the ghouls won't be able to get to the women the party rescued. Placing her free hand against her chest, Evelyn focuses and channels a burst of divine energy to harm all of the undead.
Just an idea: maybe an ancestor of Eostre's dies and the dagger of said ancestor is passed down to Eostre?
"Eostre, ធ្វើរណ្តៅ!" Evelyn yells. Aklo: "Eostre, do the pit thing!"
Evelyn turns back to Eostre, and motions toward the barn's door. "Go ahead then, cast your spells. Maybe you can use your guisarme to throw the door wide open, when I'm ready to channel?"
Evelyn nods excitedly at Eostre's plan. "My idea was to send multiple waves of positive energy into the barn. If you cast your pit and grease, and we then throw the door wide open, I can channel energy into the barn and lure them out." "Or we could do that," Evelyn responds to Conner. "Though I worry the undead may come out when we leave, and either follow us or wander off some place else." She looks at Nicat and Ekan. "What do you think? We need to decide fast, or else we'll be spotted for sure..."
Evelyn points at the stone head and whispers: "What the heck is that? Does it do anything?" In response to Nicat's warning, Evelyn continues to whisper: "I have an idea, but let Eostre and me check that weird statue first." Using detect magic from a distance, Evelyn scans the statue and the barn for signs of magic.
I'm back in business!
"Neither of them should succumb to the fever in the very near future, not after the scrolls. They're safe, for now." Evelyn looks back to where the party found Katarina. "Should we bring them with us? I don't feel like we should leave them behind. It may not be safe for them." "Let's continue toward the building after we've retrieved Katarina?"
I haven't used any of my level 2 spells yet this in-game day, but I'd rather use the scrolls right now. I have a feeling I'll need all of my spell slots soon, and this way I could still use them for something else if the need arises.
Evelyn gives a brief description of the young woman they encountered earlier. "Is that her?" She pulls out another scroll of lesser restoration. "Could you check that one?" Evelyn asks her friends, nodding at the other scarecrow. Opening the scroll, Evelyn casts the spell that'll prolong Genna's life.
Evelyn moves up to the scarecrow that spoke. "Madam, we're here to help." She checks the older woman for wounds and obvious signs of ghoul fever.
"My name's Evelyn," she tells the woman while examining her. "What's yours?"
Status update: I'm still in the midst of moving. There were some bumps in the road, so to speak. I estimate it'll take two more weeks before I can actually move in. Hopefully with a functioning internet connection... If I find some spare time to post, I will. It's bugging me that I'm slowing games down :/
Dear people, I'm currently recovering from a nasty case of the flu. As I'm also in the process of moving out of my parents' house, my posts will be incredibly sporadic or even non-existent for the time being. They may even stay so for a while after I stop feeling icky, because of the many things I'll have to do to make my house livable. Due to the nature of my work and inability to take days off (except when icky), it may take roughly a week or three before I'll be able to resume posting normally. Hoping for your understanding,
Her frown softens, and Evelyn places a hand on Eostre's shoulder. "Ekan's right. Let's not try to be heroes, even if that's what some people call us. Let's just be ourselves, and do what we can do to help others." "One step at a time," she says, sighing deeply before nodding at the door. "First step's to pass that. Shall we?"
Evelyn's thoroughly confused by Eostre's train of thoughts. "But we're helping, aren't we?" She gives it some more thought, frowning deeply. "Yes, I'm sure we are," Evelyn concludes a bit later, not willing to accept the other option as it scares her.
