Etixxi takes a mighty swing but is unable to cause enough pain to hurt this woman enough to stop her arcane mutterings. Etixxi falls unconscious, her mind overwhelmed by the patterns.

I've had GMs in the past who say an animal companion will always attempt to defend its unconscious druid without a need for a check, though I think that was based on "common sense" and not the rules per se.

"I don't deal with criminal prosecution outside wildlife smuggling and poaching, but that last one sounds fishy. Very fishy," Etixxi says, "And I don't particularly like the idea of having the children out into day unsupervised. I don't particularly care for paladins, but I think we're obligated to return with this information."

"The keeper of the house didn't want Thagomizer in there," Etixxi begins, "And he's so young, and he's got abandonment issues, so I don't like to leave him outside by himself." She bends over and pats Thag on the side of his head.

"Well fine then,"Etixxi says. She whistles and Thagomizer follows her out of the house.

Thagomizer, seeing the number of children playing about, wags his tail. "No, we're not here to play, Thag," Etixxi says, "Stay close to me." She follows Soryan and Tatiana into the orphanage. In a low voice, she whispers to Soryan, "I'm not a specialist in family law or anything like that, but do you see any signs of abuse?"

Etixxi chooses not to speak. She has more than a little experience with paladins, and having butted heads with at least one, she prefers to avoid their attention when possible.

I realize now its probably easier for me or Soryan to Summon Nature Ally to get a bird to retrieve the key.

"Hold up, my elven ears heard something," her eyes dart around as she tries to find the source of the sound. "There! I don't think I can reach it, but if someone stands on Thagomizer and then gives me a boost?

I'm not sure if I understand. The key's, like on an alcove or something?

"Its not like the snake is getting out of the basket, or rats are getting into it, I'm assuming it gets fed by the Master." Etixxi says, "Both Thagomizer and I are vegans, but does anyone have some sort of jerky or meat or something to feed this thing?"

Etixxi gasps and backs off just a step. She looks over to her fellow druid. "Soryan, would you be able to assist me? We seem to have a friend in here. And, um, our friend also is venomous, so I'd prefer to try to come to a peaceful resolution." Then, she calls upon her connection to nature and tries to soothe the snake so that she can safely grab the key.

I put in in spoilers because I believe Soryan isn't supposed to know the result of my roll before, if he chooses to assist.

Etixxi goes to the wicker basket. She taps it with her scimitar to see if it is empty, and if it is not, she'll open it.

"Fair enough, fair enough," the druid says, "Is there anything to distinguish the map for us? A powerful Master like Salhar has an extensive vault, I'm sure. Or is it the only piece of parchment in there?"

Etixxi whistles at Thagomizer, telling the beast to stand to down.

Etixxi takes a simple swipe at the imp as he tries to get at Skilgannon.

Etixxi decides to leave room for the sorceror to shoot his ice cubes, and deciding that her scimitar won't be enough to cut through the fiend's skin, she tries to distract the devil so that the other druid can get a good slice of it.

"Well, as you say, my lady," Etixxi says, trying to remember any all proper manners she ever had. She subtly put her leg in front of Thagomizer, keeping herself between the Cheliaxian and the stegosaurus. "If you would part with the package, we would gladly let you return to your business."

"It could be worse. Last time I was on a field assignment and had to deal with someone house, we nearly burned to death." She makes sure Thagomizer stays at attention.

"Well, then, that's simple enough," Etixxi says after reviewing the to-do list. "Personally, I think the matter with Master Salhar sounds the most interesting, but I think it would be most efficient to start with the Paracountess, since I believe that's the closest to use, and then go clock-wise around the city. But I'm open to suggestions."

Considering I've had two adventures and have one whole prestige, I'm not sure I'd want my previous "achievements" worked in, but Etixxi's previous adventures were Nightmarch of Kalkamedes (which was a disaster) and Tide of Twilight (which was at least successful)

"I take it then, that you're not part of the legal team, then?" she smiles at Skillgannon, "Don't mind Thag, he can be a handful. He's a rescue. Its helpful to have him go on these field assignments, burn off some eneergy."

"And don't worry, its not a capital case, just a matter of getting the paperwork resolved. No one's going to hang."

A half-elf woman with long red hair and cinnamon skin kneels on the cobblestones. She's bent over with a rag trying to get the mud off a strange reptilian creature with boney plates and a quartet of long spikes on its tail. The creature itself is merrily shimmying and playfully wagging its tail.

"Sorry, sorry, Thagomizer here found himself a puddle to play in, didn't he?" she holds Thagomizer's head in her hands, and boops him on the snout. "I'm Etixxi. Etixxi Wolfscar. I was asked for? Is this for a field assignment or is this about that legal matter with the Irriseni passports?"

I believe we're outside, right? If not, she's outside the room and then enters.
