Night March of Kalkamedes

Returning to Magnimar from Absalom is a rather uneventful voyage. However, A page from Heidmarch Manor is waiting when you all disembark from the ship. "Lady Heidmarch sends her regards and would like to let you rest. Something's happened in town, however, and she needs you on the job immediately. Her orders were to direct you all to The Dryad's Trosseau, here in Dockway. There was an attack on the flower shop, and someone's trying to frame the Society for it." Upon acknowledgement of the message, the young girl gives brief directions to the shop in question before she scampers off.

It’s a cold twilight in the Dockway, and the salt-sprayed streets still teem with activity. A young city guard stands outside an ornately decorated storefront, the window frame adorned with baroque carvings of wild vines and flowers. The guard speaks: “Oye, Pathfinders. Glad you all came so quick. Here’s the latest place robbed, this afternoon by a group dressed like your lot. The shopkeep is laid up in the flat upstairs—his landlady’s taking care of him. She thinks it was Pathfinders, too, but I talked her into speaking with you.”

The young man knocks on a narrow door to the right of the shop entrance. “Look, I know you Pathfinders are all right. Cap’n Heidmarch’s done good in this city, so I’m happy to help you start sortin’ out what’s behind these crimes. But public opinion is goin’ south. The sooner you figure out who the guilty parties are, the better. Good luck. Oh, almost forgot—I was ta give this to you.”

The guard hands over a leather pouch marked with the Heidmarch family seal, and departs just as a scowling elderly woman opens the door. “Right. You come to explain why your gang beat up poor Mr. Chert?”

My order from May 12 of the PF2E Core Rulebook, Bestiary, and Lost Omens World Guide are still listed as Pending, inspite of those books already out. Is there something wrong with my order that I need to fix?

Night March of Kalkamedes

Discussion thread for GM school

Night March of Kalkamedes

This is a closed game attached to the June/July 2018 Online GM training school.

While at PFS today, the GM and I entered an arguement about Purifying Channel

Selective Channeling:

You can choose whom to affect when you channel energy.

Prerequisite: Cha 13, channel energy class feature.

Benefit: When you channel energy, you can choose a number of targets in the area up to your Charisma modifier. These targets are not affected by your channeled energy.

Normal: All targets in a 30-foot burst are affected when you channel energy. You can only choose whether or not you are affected.

Purifying Channel:

Your healing energy also damages your enemies.

Prerequisites: Cha 15, Selective Channeling, channel energy class feature.

Benefit: When you channel positive energy to heal, one creature that you exclude from your channeling takes an amount of fire damage equal to the die result you roll for healing, and is dazzled for 1 round by the light of these flames. A successful saving throw against your channel energy halves the fire damage and negates the dazzled effect.

Can I use the damaging effect from Purifying Channel on constructs?

My GM was arguing that because it's a channel, it can only effect living targets, not constructs. Likewise, he said that constructs aren't legal targets for channels, so you can't exclude them via Selective Channeling, therefore the damage can't be applied to constructs.

I was arguing that it should effect constructs because the energy in question is no longer positive energy, but fire. Likewise, while constructs are uneffected by channels, they're still targets within the channel's area and thus can be excluded and set on fire with Purifying Channel.
