Pathfinder Society Scenario #2-13: Murder on the Throaty Mermaid (PFRPG) PDFPaizo Inc.Our Price: $3.99 Add to CartMurder MysteryPlayed this at the lower tier. Simply put the heroes are escorting an elven ambassador back to the Mordant spire and on route he is murdered. It then falls to the heroes to investigate and solve the murder. It is a good investigative scenario but the one complaint that seemed to arise was the utter lack of any real clues which made it more about supposition than finding the murderer. There is lots of roleplay opportunities but again I found this lacking as the crew don't give enough information away. The climax... well, I can see why some feel it is a let down but I thought it quite a cool ending though makes the whole investigation somewhat pointless. Even so I give this one an average rating as I did enjoy it as an evenings session.
Pathfinder Society Scenario #2-11: The Penumbral Accords (PFRPG) PDFPaizo Inc.Our Price: $3.99 Add to CartFar too easyI ran this for tier 1-2 and frankly it was far too easy. Although they put a brave face on it I think even my players felt that it was just too much of a walkover.
Pathfinder Module: Master of the Fallen Fortress (PFRPG)Paizo Inc.Print Edition Out of print Add PDF FREE Fair Intro QuestMonotonous and dull from a GM perspective but the players seemed to enjoy it. This is fair for a good introduction to Pathfinder for new players though.
Pathfinder Module: We Be Goblins! (PFRPG)Paizo Inc.Print Edition Unavailable Add PDF FREE Non-Mint Unavailable EntertainingLoved the beginning of this module as the opportunity for goblin roleplay was too good to miss. Fantastic. But as the story gets going I found that the interest level began to wane in the middle for some reason, which in hindsight might be because of the weaker nature of playing a goblin.
Fun as a one off but not 5 star material.
Pathfinder Society Scenario #6–02: The Silver Mount Collection (PFRPG) PDFPaizo Inc.Our Price: $3.99 Add to CartSome assembly requiredRan this for the low tier tonight. For the most part this isn't a bad scenario with some suitable challenges. The map is a little too big though and even glossing over of the pointless rooms we overran our time slot.
Pathfinder Society Scenario #2-06: The Heresy of Man—Part I: The First Heresy (PFRPG) PDFPaizo Inc.Our Price: $3.99 Add to CartAveragePlayed part 1 at the lower tier. Most of the scenario is good entertaining fun but there was one scenario (more annoying darkness) that almost ended with a TPK. At this point I'm fed up of so many PFS scenarios featuring this overused encounter element. Other than that though, this was an ok adventure.
Pathfinder Society Scenario #37: The Beggar's Pearl (PFRPG) PDFPaizo Inc.Our Price: $3.99 Add to CartDissapointingGMed this last night. My players thought it was an ok and enjoyable dungeon crawl but I found it read better than it played. From a GM perspective it was just too bland with no interesting encounters to run.
Pathfinder Society Scenario #6–01: Trial by Machine (PFRPG) PDFPaizo Inc.Our Price: $3.99 Add to CartEntertainingGM'ed this for tier 1-2. Not a fan of science fiction elements in my fantasy but we had good fun with this. It is quite straight forward and suitability challenging. Unfortunately we got a TPK on the final encounter but we all felt it was still fun.
Pathfinder Society Scenario #14: The Many Fortunes of Grandmaster Torch (OGL) PDFPaizo Inc.Our Price: $3.99 Add to CartOne of the worstThis one of the worse scenarios I have had the misfortune of playing. It is so badly written in some scenes and screws parties over for doing what is standard for any adventuring party. I recommend avoiding this one.
Pathfinder Society Scenario #3-13: The Quest for Perfection—Part III: Defenders of Nesting Swallow (PFRPG) PDFPaizo Inc.Our Price: $3.99 Add to CartFar Too HardAn interesting scenario that feels very much like The Seven Samurai. Unfortunately I have issues with it. Played this at tier 1-2 with two 1st (rogue and samurai), a 2nd level (fighter), a 3rd (swashbuckler) and a 4th level (cleric). The defence planning of the village was a nice idea but part of me really hated it and wanted it over so we could get on with the adventure. The encounters during the battle were far too tough for even for our party and repeatedly we almost lost characters. It's another PFS scenario where the encounters just aren't balanced for low level play. This is quite a good adventure. I like the enclosed environment and the strong zombie movie feel. As a player I found it rather tough but we had a weak mix of classes. Running it as a GM I found that with the right party mix it works just right. My only grumble was the map lay out. There really is no need for awkward shaped rooms.
Pathfinder Society Scenario #3-11: The Quest for Perfection—Part II: On Hostile Waters (PFRPG) PDFPaizo Inc.Our Price: $3.99 Add to CartMeh!As a player I found this scenario really rather dull. The entertainment coming from the sheer bad luck on dice rolls that we had. The story is far too railroaded even for my tastes, and I found the effort we had to try to control the boat was far too silly. Paizo seem to like strange additions to their scenarios at times but the DC for this was far too high and too frequent. It is a shame because I really enjoyed chapter 1 a lot.
Pathfinder Society Scenario #35: Voice in the Void (PFRPG) PDFPaizo Inc.Our Price: $3.99 Add to CartGood Spooky QuestGM'd for tier 3-4.
Pathfinder Society Scenario #33: Assault on the Kingdom of the Impossible (PFRPG) PDFPaizo Inc.Our Price: $3.99 Add to CartAverageGM perspective:
Pathfinder Society Scenario #2-02: Before the Dawn—Part II: Rescue at Azlant Ridge (PFRPG) PDFPaizo Inc.Our Price: $3.99 Add to CartCould have been better.Player review.
Pathfinder Society Scenario #2-01: Before the Dawn—Part I: The Bloodcove Disguise (PFRPG) PDFPaizo Inc.Our Price: $3.99 Add to CartEntertaining but toughPlayer review. An entertaing but tough scenario. I found this an odd scenario for two reasons. Firstly, it suggests a jungle/wilderness adventure but is in fact an urban adventure. Secondly, the major BBEG encounter is oddly placed overly weakening the party for the final scenes. Had a good time playing but is rather average. This was my first PFS scenario and as a player it was just right. Not too tough but far from being easy. If I have an issue as a player its because there is little resting opptunity and we really needed it. From a GM perspective I found it too easy. The threats as they appear at low tier were too easy. I really wanted to use the higher tier statistics which would have made more sense. But it was still a fun scenario to run.
Pathfinder Society Scenario #30: The Devil We Know—Part II: Cassomir's Locker (PFRPG) PDFPaizo Inc.Our Price: $3.99 Add to CartCould Be BetterA bit of a combat grind this one but I found it fun to play. My only grumble was that it hints at being a descent into the underdark type adventure and its nothing like it.
Pathfinder Society Scenario #29: The Devil We Know—Part I: Shipyard Rats (PFRPG) PDFPaizo Inc.Our Price: $3.99 Add to CartEntertaining StartAn entertaining introduction to the storyline. It is a simple no frills scenario that needs a little fleshing out but I throughly enjoyed playing this one.
Pathfinder Society Scenario #2-21: The Dalsine Affair (PFRPG) PDFPaizo Inc.Our Price: $3.99 Add to CartKiller scenario and not in a good wayI played this module with a level 2 character at lowest tier and it is with that in mind as I write this. The module for the most part was fun and just right for an evenings entertainment. The final fight however came very close to making me quit PFS entirely. Whoever wrote this one went in with the intention of killing off at least one player character! Not the way to write or run a module.
