With the way the Star Wars anthology movies seem to be going; I might enjoy those more than the later trilogy. Rogue One was a fantastic military science fiction film. I always felt the other Star Wars film were solid in the science fantasy/space opera genres. Rogue One felt like it really attempted to bring the military realities of the Rebellion home to the viewer. In 2018 we are going to get a young Han Solo movie, and I know there is rumors of a Bobba Fett film. I also hope the rumors of a Kenobi film pan out. At this rate, I will definitely like the anthology films more than the core trilogies.

I am just finishing up Command Decision, book 4 in the Vatta Series by Elzabeth Moon.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I normally prefer science fiction anime such as Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Banner of the Stars, or Space Battleship Yamato; but a friend just started getting me to watch Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works. I was reluctant at first because it looked like the typical Anime Japanese magic high school trope driven stories. So far I've been pleasantly surprised.

For books I always try to suggest some of the classics for Fantasy and science fiction. Anything by Roger Zelanzy, especially the Lord of Light or the Chronicles of Amber series. Andre Norton's Witch World series is pretty solid as well.

Less classes, with more Archetypes. I like that idea.
