Elianna narrows her elven eyes in frustration realizing how much work it will take to get up there. She gives up and also relinquishes the spell held in her weapon so she can try to examine what "shaine" was studying to see if it induced madness...or reveals anything should the master of scrolls not actually be himself, literally!

Not sure what check that is but I'm kinda useless in this fight so maybe finding something on the desk might provide new info for my party to use against him?

Elianna sighs as the fight moves to the ceiling. She grabs the nearest scribe's desk and tries to get it up on top of the larger desk that the master of scrolls was originally behind. If she has enough actions left, she'll grab a second one to put next to those, to make some kind of a step-ladder to get her up to where things are happening so she's not just dead weight to her team.

Elianna would instead have advanced closer to shaine, not attacking for the same reason as Dawn but also not dismissing her spell, readying an action to attack if he continues trying to cast spells against her current teammates. "Master, Dawn is absolutely correct. We need to deal with the library, do we not?"

Elianna will move into the room to make herself ready to aid in defense of her team, drawing her bladed scarf from around her waist as she does. She casts chill touch on it, and as a swift action enchants it with her arcane pool.

Another super busy weekend, sorry! GM would it be okay if Elianna had asked someone to tap her with the cure light wounds wand she carries before we got up to here?

Elianna steps in carefully around the fallen items and looks around.

"Not to question you, master, but the last clue we found suggested a crocodile would point us in the direction of a person who might be responsible for all of the damage you want us to stop. Also, I can't help but notice that the animal wasn't with you when you briefed us not long ago..." she trails off, hoping for Shaine to help her and the team understand a bit more.

Elianna is somewhat lost as well with the confusion and chaos among the group, but decides to follow Razka and Dawn towards where the 'first' virml went, as Bob pointed out.

Elianna has been very quiet and studies the poem fragments while the group is talking to Virml and muses softly to herself, "Each piece talks about a creature or two, some of which we then encountered after finding it...so we need to be careful and look out for a crocodile I guess."

Elianna narrows her eyes at the discovery of Virml, and casts detect magic to sweep the area as she tries to catch Dawn's attention by speaking in Elven.

I had a rough few days and I thought I posted in the discussion of every game I'm in but I clearly forgot this one. Totally my fault sorry!

Sorry for not posting, rough few days.

Seeing her party closing in and knowing her crossbow isn't effective anyway, Elianna moves to the door and tries to close it to prevent escape. If it doesn't look like the door will move due to the flow of water she will instead draw her bladed scarf from around her waist and ready an action to attack enemies of the party if they approach her.

Elianna grimaces as she's shot, but knows she has to keep doing something sort of useful if she's going to save her captivated teammates. She reloads and fires again, this time at the webbed-woman, muttering a prayer to Arshea that her aim will keep steady.

Crossbow: 1d20 + 5 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 5 + 1 - 4 = 20
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
magic & piercing but I'm guessing neither will matter with that damage roll

Elianna doesn't have a lot of good options right now, so she reloads her crossbow and tries to fire at the pink one again.

Crossbow: 1d20 + 5 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 5 + 1 - 4 = 19 (-4 firing into melee)
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Elianna glances back at Bob and Razka and sighs a little bit before drawing her crossbow, using her arcane pool to enhance it, and firing at the pink fairy to try and stop its spell from hitting her friends!

Crossbow: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 5 + 1 = 21
Damage!: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Remember everyone, deep bog conditions reign throughout the area. Since everyone is just chatting until Elianna sloshes forward and lowers the boom, it's fine just now that she can do so.

I totally missed that we were still in deep bog, sorry! I thought that was only in the green area on the map which was behind us when I posted. To be honest all the different aliases for every different npc plus all of us and companions is making it *really* hard for me to keep track of what's going on so I thought initiative meant that we knew they were being hostile.

GM, can someone be shaken out of the effects of the song thing? If yes Elianna would move to Razka and shake him out of it. If not she'll draw her crossbow and spend a point from her arcane pool to make it +1 then try to shoot the one casting sleep.

Elianna moves into the room and recognizes the littler of the things inside. "Tooth faeries! Be careful of your mouths!"

She casts Color Spray on the two small fey, something nonlethal but may enough to debilitate them for her party.

Elianna shrugs but doesn't resist when Razka decides to take the scroll from her, and continues to try and help look around, still kind of in a daze with all the frantic activity going on in this archive.

Elianna will hold onto the scroll unless either Dawn or Razka want to take it, especially since Razka has a slightly better chance of being able to activate it than Elianna or Dawn. Now that there's a bit more light, Elianna will also help search the area.

Elianna will push through the water so she can see the little thing and will ready an action to swing her bladed scarf trying to aid another for if Bob tries to attack it before it moves again!

Elianna will pop her wand of shield into her hand from a spring-loaded wrist sheath (swift) and tap herself with it (standard), then she will begin wading through the water (move).

Elianna puts a finger to her lips as her eyes flutter in thought.

"Wait a moment! Didn't those fishing birds have a bit of a scroll?!"

"Do we know if Wirml is still around? Maybe we could ask him if he saw other parts of it somewhere?"

I like the idea of hangouts and slides since you can roll dice there and also keep logs that we could copy-paste here when the site comes back?

Elianna will follow the group upstairs, still with auditory whiplash from the bird-folk's banter though, but she'll also speak in sylvan.

Trying to stifle her giggling at their antics, "Like I said, we need your help, too. *Then* we can maybe see about helping you in return."

If 27-29 diplomacy didn't work I don't have any other ideas

Elianna just smiles and joins Dawn, crouching down a bit to be closer to their eye level without making it look condescending. "Aww, but if you help us, maybe we can find a way to help you in return? If nothing else you'll get us out of your fishing spot faster. Plus if we go somewhere else we might scare the fish from there into coming your way!"

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 10 + 2 = 29 (-2 if this doesn't count as a check to "persuade others")

Elianna can't help herself and starts to giggle softly at the birds' antics, lifting a hand just over her mouth to hide her smile so as to remain polite.

Elianna sighs a bit, muttering to herself in elven "Τα στρώματα από μετάξι και νερό ίσως να με αφήσουν λίγο ... καλά ... ελαφρώς διαπεραστικά. Ελπίζω να μην αποσπάται η προσοχή από τους άλλους."

She draws a wand of mage armor and casts it on herself before tucking it away. She then checks that her wand of shield and one of her bladed scarves are tucked away in her spring loaded wrist sheaths, nodding to the others that she's ready to go. She'll make liberal use of the spell detect magic to scan for anything of interest as they move forward.

Elianna nods at Razka asking the next question that was on her mind, but frowns as the talk turns to punishments and the like. She examines the riddle trying to come up with a cadence for it as she hums.

Elianna hums a bit to herself for a moment before asking "Do we know anything else about what Virml actually did...or touched? Maybe that will help us figure out how to stop the flood from getting worse?"

A slender lady, golden hair trailing behind her but the lower part of her face slightly obscured by a near-see-through veil of white, rises from sleep to answer the door.

"Αχ, τι μια ενδιαφέρουσα νύχτα που πρέπει να ξυπνήσει από τον ύπνο."

She wears no armor, in fact, almost no gear one would expect from an adventurer at all. Only a light crossbow secured to her backpack and a small curved dagger whose scabbard hangs on her slender hips belies that she may have something more than girlish charm beneath the layers of silk and scarves that enclose her form. When summoned, she heads to the appointed area. Her violet eyes shine to each of you in turn upon arrival as she hums to herself as if to a tune only she can make out.

Her eyes flutter closed for a moment as she nods her head to each of you.

"I am Elianna Morgethai of the Spire. We are to be, companions, then?"

Something I forgot to mention is that my work and class schedule are weird so most of the time I'll be posting after midnight central time and even later on weekends when I work. I'll get my first post going in just a minute or two!

Elianna would be good anywhere from the 3-5 positions. Until I get her to level 3, she won't be as useful as I want her to be in combat.

It's possible one of these numbers might change after I play in your other game but not super likely.

Elianna activates her arcane pool once more as she charges forward slashing out with her delicate bladed scarf hoping it can find a gap in the crocodile's hide somewhere!

Attack!: 1d20 + 5 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 5 + 2 + 1 = 27
Damage!: 1d6 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) - 2 + 1 = 5

Elianna also rushes over but isn't able to use any curative wands herself. She'll still try to be helpful in getting him comfortable and back on his feet though.

you're right I'm sorry I forgot with how fast combats have been going! She'd have mage armor up all the time since it lasts for 1 hour per use on the wand and if you'd let her she'd use her wand of shield as they get to each floor with its 1 minute duration? Sorry!

Elianna senses that this creature might be more dangerous than others faced before so she activates her arcane pool as a swift action before moving up (using diagonals to not provoke) to attack!

Elianna comes over to Hayden gently resting a hand on his shoulder and offers him a handkerchief from her belt pouch. "In a tower constructed like this all doors may eventually lead back upon themselves so there may not be much difference."

Elianna gracefully dances past Egg and the troglodyte before him her silks lifting off her lithe form as she spins and ends up behind the creature readying an attack once Egg steps into the flanking position!

Damage!: 1d6 - 2 ⇒ (3) - 2 = 1

Even though she's not as sharp-eyed as the others Elianna keeps a watch out for potential hazards.
