Duradin is a jovial fellow who defining features are his flame red hair and propensity for drinking and adventure. Like all Dwarves, his luxurious braided beard is a point of pride - as is his Dwarven heritage - and he loves a good fight.
Background:
“I was born in mighty Janderhoft. Aye, just speaking the name brings back the memories,” Duradin slaps his knee wistfully. “A warm hearth at your back, the sound of hammers shaping metal in your ears, and the feel of stone beneath your feet! A grand life it was, but where was the adventure? The glory of battles won? The heft of a greataxe in your hands? Nowhere I’ll tell you; that’s why I left. If someday my beard is gray and I have a story to tell, I will return to the Sky Citadel.” With a smile he adds, “If not, they can carry me back when I’m dead.”
Religion:
“Angradd watches over all warriors. In battle he decides who lives and who dies - only those that seize the moment are assured success. I can’t say I've converted many folks over the years, but I spread the word in my own way, and Angradd has seen fit to bestow unto me his favor.”
Why Sandpoint:
“My travelling brought me all around Varisia. Sandpoint was just a stick in the mud back then - say 40 years ago - when I first came through town and met Niska. I was an unruly youth, bent on self-destruction, and she was a fortune teller that helped point me in the right direction. I’d stop by whenever I was coming through on this caravan or this and that-” he pauses for a moment’s reflection “-sometimes it’s hard watching you humans burn your candles so fast... Well, I don’t know how she found me, but when I got the message to return to Sandpoint, I did. And here I am now, promised to look after a 60 year old woman if she decides to go traveling! Ha, serves me right!”
