A bit put off by the cold shoulder from Nigel, Duncan looks around the room helplessly. "Better if these were all man-eating alligators," he whispers under his breath. "Stone cold striking out at a cocktail party, eh? Serves me right for every joining the Society in the first place." He looks around to see if any of his allies are having any better luck.

Duncan approaches the half-elf curator of the Blakros Museum. "Tell me Nigel, what new discoveries are on display currently? I heard there has been a bit of trouble there in the past, and wondered if you had need of a Pathfinder group to stand guard"

Duncan is a bit overwhelmed at the situation and certiainly not trained or experienced at diplomatic courtesies. He hopes homespun will do among the glitterati.

Despite his teammates surrounding the porcupine woman, Duncan still has clear unblocked line of sight. He draws and fires again twice in quick succession on a target he knows well at this point. He smiles as he releases, expecting both shots to be on target.

Trying to follow up his shot with more success, Duncan lets fly with two arrows in rapid succession but it seems that he should just stick to simple shots instead of over doing it, as both arrows miss.

Duncan slips around one of the stone columns, and gets a bead on the spiny foe without a foe in the way. At close range, and having studied her movement, he is confident in his shot.

With all the quills out, but still badly hurt, Duncan rushes through the narrow passage and out into the bigger room, next to Marianna. He draws his bow, and fires a shot at the porcupine woman, just as the prismatic spell goes off.

Every once in a while, despite hurrying, a bowman gets off a near-perfect shot. This was one of those occasions and Duncan knew as soon as he let fly. He just stood for a second and admired his handiwork...

Duncan takes a moment to withdraw the last of the quills, wincing in pain as he does so. He than gathers back up his bow and is ready for action, if quite a bit worse for wear. He takes a position behind Mariana, where he can still have clear LOS for a bowshot.

I guess that 13 hits because of flat-footed AC...Damn!

Hurt badly by the porcupines, Duncan can only withdraw to the rear, avoiding any further attacks.

Withdraw as full-round action. Duncan is probably out of this fight...removing the quills will put him under. He has a potion or something to use to try to get back.

Seeing the ineffectiveness of his arrows, Duncan drops the bow, draws his longsword, and advances with the plan to slash the undead menace to ribbons. His attack is also affected by the bad luck aura around this place, but he tries to power through it anyway.

"We are glad you are safe on dry land. That gnome thing was horrid and the undead horse not much better. Was that thing Marigana, or is she even worse?"

Once that question is answered, he motions to the magical warding bracers. "Someone want to wear these? Perhaps someone with light armor?"

If no one else, claims Duncan will wear the bracers. His AC is a little light for a sometimes front-liner...

Still holding is breath, Duncan swims behind the tricky gnome and stabs, using the advantage of flanking along with his study of the target. He plunges the dagger hard and fast, aiming for a kidney or other sensitive organ, he just hopes the water doesn't slow his stoke enough for the tough skin to deflect the blade.

"Glugg! glugg!" cries Duncan as the gnome drags him under. He struggles mightily but the gnome is surprisingly strong for his size. Before, or as, he is pulled under, Duncan studies the monstrous foe, looking for any advantage he can.

Hurt, grappled and in the water, Duncan wonders just what Marianna is doing, and while he'd like to help her, he's got his hands full with wild gnome.

Reaching into his soggy boot top, he grabs a dagger and twists, stabbing it at the grappling gnome.

Seeing the struggling gnome in the water, and the lasso fall short of the target, Duncan, who can swim a bit, runs to the end of the water.

Duncan returns to the cabin with a defeated look. "Found some tracks, but the blasted forest is such a tangle, it's like the trees move around or something. I haven't been able to find a reliable trail, much as it pains me to admit."

If he hears about this Riddywhipple, Duncan suggests that a local expert might be able to have better luck tracking the lost apprentice and seconds that suggestion.

To the recovering Pathfinders, he asks, "Are there any more of you living inside this place? If not, let's get you and Batale here out of this hell-hole before more of those horrors return. Can you walk?"

Duncan marvels at the tenacity of the Grey Maiden. After killing one of the horrid looking foes, he steps up next to Marianna and tries to replicate her martial prowess, studying the target once again to see how to take any edge he can. He ends up hitting the Green target.

"Think the crowds getting thinned out some, Wilen!" cries the slayer, who would rather be firing his bow from range instead of face-to-face with this big ugly.
