I've taken some hours to consider things, consider re-working things, consider creating something new, and I am resolved in my opinion. I cannot continue at this point with this game.

GM, thanks for everything. You have run an excellent campaign. I am sorry that I didn't understand how this would work, and frankly, I still don't understand. I admit that I was shocked to find out that I would have to wind Drea backwards, and I am very much antipathetic to that. I could create another character, but it wouldn't be a Scarab Sages character. It has nothing to do with the loot or the abilities - it has everything to do with how I like to organically evolve my characters. It just feels wrong to me.

I also don't have the mental bandwidth right now, and it would be unfair to limp along without full commitment. I think it is the right time to bow out of this campaign for me, and, GM, you shouldn't feel like this is a rage-quit. It comes across as such in my previous posts, and for that, I apologise. You deserve better; you deserve the graciousness that you've shown me and the others as our GM. Thank you.

To my fellow players, thanks for letting me play Drea with you. I enjoyed the banter and the characterisation. Noral, thanks for reaching out. I don't like to disappoint, but I need to step away now.

This is not a fun way to run this for me. I like creating characters organically and making their decision based on in-game roleplaying.

I feel like I won't have grip on Drea moving forward, and would be roll-playing in the future.

I'm a bit confused as to how I would reset Drea.

Check that, I'm absolutely gobsmacked about resetting Drea, and contemplating not continuing due to how much effort that's going to take.

Since the Scarab Shield and the Armor of Akhentepi are both on the chronicle sheet, do we give those back at the start of the next adventure?

What about other things that we acquired, like Drea's adamantine heavy flail?

"This is perfect," Drea exclaims, marching up to the sarcophagus and laying their hand on the stone. Immediately, their eyes turn a pale purple as the sylph trips backwards to the past, reading what they can of history's lineage.

Drea will take one minute to do a ruin reading here. Hopefully, Rogarch will have waited for the sylph before pulling the switch on the secret door.

Drea breathes deeply as Kenji heals them, relishing the victory over the nigh-invincible foes.

”It was fate that led us to victory. I am grateful for all of you,” Drea manages. They then look about. ”What possibly could have been so valuable to have these things guarding it?”

Drea steps to the side to flank the crumbling statue with Rogarch.

"We will persevere and triumph, friends," she pronounces.

Drea swings down hard as they try to bring the statue to a halt.

GM, we could use an update of the map if Kenji is an inactive combatant.

Drea needs food badly.

”Keep battling!” the sylph calls out, airy vapour leaking from their frame. ”I need help!”

Drea stoically takes the hit, then presses their attack, enjoying the flank from Rogarch.

Drea then steps back to avoid being right in the range of an attack.

"Keep up the pressure! They're cracking. And do make use of my weapon should I fall," they urge.

"Do you see?" Drea calls out as they side-step around their latest combatant after the previous statue crumbles. "They can be brought down with intensive action!"

Drea grunts with the effort of a woodsman hacking down a tree. A point in the centre of their forehead glows purple for a moment.

"Keep up the pressure," they call out, swinging again at the column.

I don't think that weapons or items gain the broken condition until they've been reduced to 50% of their item hit points or more, unless I am mistaken.

Drea concentrates on the column in front of them.

"Do take care of your weapons - they can shatter them if not magical or of a substance resistant to the damage!"

They then swing hard with their adamantine flail.

”Caryatid Columns!” the sylph breathes in alarm, instinctively dropping the greatsword. ”Resistant to magic and extraordinarily impervious to weapon damage! They can break normal weapons by the sheer density of their force.”

Drea moves and draws their adamantine flail. ”It is fortunate that we have the force to overcome them.”

Move and draw weapon as part of move action. Attack.

"Many thanks," Drea smiles at Penthesilea. Their eyes skirt to the large form of the ifrit making for the northern exit. "Perhaps we should follow Kenji."

Drea moves after the ifrit, their greatsword still in hand.

"I could use some healing as well, if it was felt to be available," Drea mentions.

Spellcraft Check: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27

”I think it is a one-time charming device for hostile creature. Powerful enough to paralyse, but when its magic is spent, it is no more,” explains the sylph. ”We were lucky to not have it used upon us.”

Drea then looks about the room in which they found the Nethys-worshippers.

Drea considers the alluring golden apple.

”What is that?” they breathe with wonder.

Drea stiffens as the wizard finally dies.

”An end is sometimes just the beginning,” they breathe cryptically. The sylph then looks up at the minstrel. ”I was wounded in that battle; more so my pride than bodily wounds, though I could use some healing.”

As Drea sheathes their greatsword, they muse aloud. ”What causes this type of behaviour in treasure seekers, I wonder?”

Their eyes fall on the prone evoker Azaz. ”You will tell us what you know.” The tone of Drea’s voice offers no wiggle room.

Drea swings their enchanted blade once more at the wizard.

"All things must end," she breathes solemnly.

GM, please add 1 to both Drea’s attack and damage due to Penthesilea’s bardic song.

Is Penthesilea using bard song here? Rogarch seems to think so; he’s been using the bonus for each of his combat rounds. I can’t seem to find any evidence that she’s used it since the 2nd round of this combat.

The plus to attack would be mighty nice for Drea’s last melee strike, FYI.

GM, I made my DC 16 Will save. I believe that Drea is no longer blinded.

Drea stills herself, concentrating once more on the wind entering and exiting their foe, but their eyes clear in a second, revealing a reeling Kenji flanking three identical wizards.

Drea concentrates and tries to locate the wizard. They then step hesitantly forward and lashes out with their enchanted sword!

Drea gets to their feet, unsure of their footing upon the greased floor.

Not sure of where to go, Drea pauses and takes cover with the stone pillar at their back.

Drea growls audibly as they stop back from the fray, blinded.

"SOMEONE ATTEND TO THE WIZARD."

The sylph then glides slowly through the greased portion of the passageway directly behind a pillar.

Acrobatics (10) Check to avoid slipping: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (3) - 2 = 1 FAIL.
Reflex Save to avoid falling: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11 FAIL. Now prone.

Drea sighs and speaks a word of occult power.

Cast lead blades. End turn.

Reflex Save Reroll (w/GM 5stars added in): 1d20 + 3 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 3 + 5 = 16 Wow. I should've just taken the hit. Pathetic.

Drea cries out in a completely unorthodox fashion, cradling their near-mortally wounded self as the fiery blast subsides. A sphere of purple energy pops up around Drea and then winks out of existence.

Swift action to spend a focus point and use Mind Barrier to deflect 6 points of that fire damage. I'm unable to make a DC 28 Concentration check (DC 10 + dmg taken (16) + spell level), so I will stop casting.

Drea grits their teeth and steps forward, dropping the scroll, drawing their greatsword, and sending a limning of purple energy down their blade. Blistered skin and blackened hair frame their stark face with glowing purple eyes.

"I could use some healing as well, Pirro, if you have any to spare," they say in a calm manner.

Free action to drop scroll. Move action to take a 5 foot step and obtain some cover from the pillar from the casters. Standard action and a focus point to active Legacy Weapon.

I need to know how to handle the failed Reflex save, GM. I want to use my 5 star GM reroll here if I can, because I’m in the middle of casting silence. Is that even valid?

If not, then I’m likely to lose the spell from the scroll because I’m in the middle of casting it. What happens to the spell on the scroll?

Or do I have it all wrong? I can’t action Drea until I hear from you on this.

Unsure of their abilities, Drea attempts to intone the spell.

AWWWWW YEAH! Of course, it's a full-round activity.

Drea's efforts seem to be proceeding well as they chant.

Of note, Drea's 20 foot movement speed severely hampers their ability to get into a martial place to be of use that's not already occupied or greased. That factored into my (very) risky decision. The spot on the map is where the spell will arise, though it's not there at present.

Drea smiles serenely and pulls a scroll from their belt as they see multiple spellcasters within the room. Drea utters a word of power, focusing the nidus of the scroll’s arcane energy well within the room.

Drea nailed the Knowledge Arcana check earlier but hasn't had luck with any of the others.

"Whew," whistles Drea, gazing down on the scattered bones. "That could have been nasty. Still, it leaves a mystery as to the origin of the drops of blood - these creature's don't bleed."

Drea's grim visage lightens at the encouraging touch from Pirro.

"My thanks," they state, swinging with the adamantine flail.
