I got to run this three times at a local convention this weekend. And I had fun each time. This scenario has combat, starship combat, and skills challenges. It’s a great way to let different builds shine and is great for explaining rules to new players.
I love the expansion on the meta plot for the season. However, the stories contained enough that unfamiliar players will still enjoy and feel connected to the mission.
All of my players really enjoyed it too!
It can runs at about 3 hours if the party plays things smart.
I ran this last night and it was fun to prep and fun to run. I really appreciated the detail on the maps (I maybe disliked adding all the images but the result was GREAT). And unlike some scenarios I did not feel like I had to dig out information the players would need.
It was clearly written and a fun read. I appreciated the sandbox nature of the conversation with the gem. It let me create an interesting dialogue for my players.
The puzzle is one where once you solve it you are like "OH". I gave my players a really easy Int/Lore check to help focus their thoughts.
Thoughts:
I really appreciated the bit about the vines quivering/reacting to the players actions to help clue them in.
