With silent determination and a firm look, Doritan swings his sword at the medusa's neck, the blade making not a sound as it moves with the inevitability of an executioner's strike.

Doritan stands back, holding his blade at the ready while still very carefully avoiding looking at the medusa in the slightest.

With help from Maya's magic, even as his skin began to harden, Doritan managed to fight off the affliction and push forward, charging forward and trying to stab the medusa.

As Doritan creeps up behind the medusa, a spare glance from the monster behind her meets Doritan's eyes dead-on and before he can so much as think, there's another statue in the room.

Eh, personal preference, I guess. Plus Doritan's personality never came out in the way I wanted it to.

In any case, I'm perfectly fine sending Doritan into a suicidal situation. ;P

Hopefully his replacement will be finished up this weekend, barring unforeseen circumstances.

Sorry, busy homework day.

Doritan raises an eyebrow, "I may not have been fully clear as to the nature of her 'appreciation of the arts.' She has a bunch of statues- likely once people- arranged in a way that looks like a scene from a play, and I don't doubt for a second she's looking to complete it if she gets the chance. She needs to go down."

It depends a lot on the magus, really. While shocking grasp is the stereotypical go-to damage dealing spell that they have access to, they still have a really broad set of spells and class features that allow for pretty dynamic combats, from my experience.

Plus, it gives me the chance to really shake things up. I do my best to make my characters distinct, mechanically and flavorly. While it backfires on occasion, it often helps keep them interesting.

Part of the relief will likely come from actually having a distinct niche. We're a pretty well-balanced group already, and that kind of cuts into the utility of having lots of different skills.

Male Human Stalker Vigilante 8 HP 67/67; AC 21, 17 FF, 16 T; Saves +7 Fort, +12 Ref, +10 Will; +4 Init; +18 Per, Active Effects: None

Thanks for understanding.

At the moment, I'm leaning towards a DEX Magus with the Beastbound archetype, and utilizing a flying familiar for scouting, so I can probably still fill in the roles that Doritan held easily enough, just less of a one-trick pony.

Male Human Stalker Vigilante 8 HP 67/67; AC 21, 17 FF, 16 T; Saves +7 Fort, +12 Ref, +10 Will; +4 Init; +18 Per, Active Effects: None

So, as it's definitely well-noted, I've been having trouble being invested in Doritan, for whatever reason. Part of that, honestly, is likely due to the fact that Doritan was me stretching myself to try and play a more rogue-type character, and a completely nonmagical one at that (both very out of the ordinary for my usual characters). I can pretty thoroughly say that my attempt at playing outside my usual type has failed.

With that said, I've talked to DM Brainiac about possible ways to go forward, and have settled on simply making a new character. I don't know what form that will take, exactly, but I will do my best to make sure that whoever my new character ends up being, they'll be able to fill in Doritan's role of scout/melee fighter at least adequately.

Hopefully, with a new character that I actually really enjoy playing, I'll be able to get back into the swing of things and become more engaged with the RP (which I've quite enjoyed reading, and will hopefully enjoy even more when actually participating) and more active in this campaign overall.

Sorry for my absence, and thanks for understanding,
Daedalus/Doritan

Doritan stalks through the ruins, trying to stay unseen from any potential attackers. He looks mainly around the courtyard, trying to see if there are any traps or indication of motion near the elephant in the room. If he finds nothing, he continues scouting throughout the rest of the manor, mainly trying to get a lay of the land than scour the entire area.

I'll respond to everything said later, for now I mainly just have time for a gameplay post.

Yeah, I'm still around. I've been reading along, trying (and failing) to get over my habit of only posting when I have something to add/during combat.

Male Human Stalker Vigilante 8 HP 67/67; AC 21, 17 FF, 16 T; Saves +7 Fort, +12 Ref, +10 Will; +4 Init; +18 Per, Active Effects: None

Fair enough. Like I said, I'm quite happy with the sword, it's just a sort of contention I have with the rules in general, plus it didn't help that when I was thinking about it, I saw Dignity's Barb jumping all the way to +4, so that kind of made made me a little jealous, before that was corrected.

Male Human Stalker Vigilante 8 HP 67/67; AC 21, 17 FF, 16 T; Saves +7 Fort, +12 Ref, +10 Will; +4 Init; +18 Per, Active Effects: None

Nah, I like the blade. It's moreso just a deeper complaint about the structure of PF1 that crops up every so often- because both important and cool but more frivolous things take up the same space, and often use the same resources, having something 'cool' often means that it's harder to have something that's strictly useful.

It was mainly just OOC sighing. Doritan is quite happy with his magical sword.

Male Human Stalker Vigilante 8 HP 67/67; AC 21, 17 FF, 16 T; Saves +7 Fort, +12 Ref, +10 Will; +4 Init; +18 Per, Active Effects: None

1d2 ⇒ 1
Negative Energy it is.

It is a bit of a pity, though, while the blade is cool, it keeps feeling like I'd be better served by just getting and upgrading a standard short sword. None of the gems have ever come up, and I have to twist around backwards for the Defending properties to come into play.

Ah well.

That's... a lot of messages from just this weekend.

Anyway, I do appreciate getting the belt of physical perfection, as I do use all three stats fairly equally (Dex to hit, Str for damage, Con not to die- always tricky for a d8, low fort save frontliner), so I will definitely be able to use it.

I also grabbed a Headband of Wisdom, as I definitely need the Will bonus more than an extra +1 to intimidate.

But yes. I think that's all that requires immediate attention?

Also, my linked sheet should be working now, at least to view. Let me know if there are still problems (considering the number of buffs thrown around this party, having the math done for me is really important).

I'm also willing to chip in for the scroll. With some luck, I might be able to do a loot update, but with the virus going around and being forced to leave my college campus, who knows when I'll have time for it.

While the others are being friendly, Doritan keeps up his 'quiet and mysterious' act (privately, he just doesn't want to have to talk to yet another noble), ensuring that no surprises are sprung on them in the meantime.

Ah, the dangers of playing a slightly more reserved character in the presence of many Faces. It works out, though, as it's rare for me to have the time to write an adequate conversation post these days.

Doritan eyes their opponents, not really inclined to spare them, "Well, don't say we didn't warn you." He dashes through their ranks, slipping between the four of the main group, and pushes his way through the woman in the back, slipping his blade into her stomach along the way.

Double Move to get to the (caster?) in the back, Up close and Personal to Hidden Strike, Corungon Smash to demoralize. As usual.
Acrobatics (up close and personal): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29
Going to assume that hit.
Power Attack, v. flat-footed, hidden strike: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 131d6 + 12 + 4d8 ⇒ (2) + 12 + (6, 1, 1, 7) = 29
Demoralize/Twisting Fear: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (17) + 16 = 334d4 ⇒ (3, 4, 2, 3) = 12

Doritan doesn't even bother trying to hide his skepticism, "You know, people keep saying that. It never ends well for them. I'm not really keen on letting you get away super easily, but my more kindhearted allies might persuade me to let you go without your blood on the street." he replies bluntly, drawing his blade and resting it on his shoulder, eyes cold and hard.

I think, at this rate, my social identity might be due for an alignment change before long.

I'm pretty sure that he's down by now, but if not....

Doritan's eyes narrow, and he dashes off in pursuit of the dwarf, his magically-enhanced speed easily allowing him to meet and then surpass the fleeing figure, trying and failing to shove him into the wall of the alley with the flat of his blade.

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (11) + 13 = 24
Up Close and Personal, Nonlethal: 1d20 + 13 - 4 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 13 - 4 + 1 + 2 = 141d6 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12

Doritan, merciless as ever, steps into a flank with Amelia and keeps trying to stab the still-standing dwarf.

Power Attack, Flank, IC, Rondo: 1d20 + 11 + 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 11 + 2 + 2 + 1 = 181d6 + 4d4 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (2) + (2, 3, 2, 2) + 12 + 2 = 25
Extra Attack, Flank, IC, Rondo: 1d20 + 11 + 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 11 + 2 + 2 + 1 = 221d6 + 4d4 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (5) + (1, 3, 2, 2) + 12 + 2 = 27

Intimidate (if either hit): 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (14) + 16 = 304d4 ⇒ (2, 3, 4, 3) = 12
