Slowed by the iron bars and narrow passageways, the elemental gives up the pursuit after a few moments and turns back toward the yard. That provides enough opening for Shieara to revive Nico and for Rees to coax the injured cat out of danger, before they make their way to reconvene with the rest of the party outside the prison. The area surrounding the prison is fairly quiet, as the sounds of battle to the south seem to have subsided.

You have time to heal, then you can make your way to the other end of the prison. Examining the ramparts, you don't see any turrets likely to contain stairs connecting the upper and lower floors at the southern end of the building, so you suspect that may not be a good way to get to those buildings.

I like the magic fang change. I wish there was a similar one for magic weapon, which seems right now to say you can't cast it on a +1 non-striking weapon to temporarily give it the striking property, which seems odd.

And we are done! Thanks for all your hard work everyone. The house DID earn the Radiant Ruby Feathers boon, so please include that on the chronicle sheets, regardless of the number of successes your particular table had.

I want to particularly thank the backup GMs for their help. We couldn't have a PbP special without you. Be on the lookout for a PM from me in the next few days.

If anyone has any questions, post here or PM me. Also, Paizo forum GMs, please take a moment and remove me as a player at your table while you work on chronicle sheets, so I can start to clear some of the nearly 30 tables from my campaigns page.

**OVERSEER ANNOUNCEMENT**

The colossal ruby phoenix grows more resplendent and terrifying with each restored feather that soars into the sky to meet it. The magnificent bird lets out a final screech as its shroud of flames intensifies, utterly consuming it. The phoenix is gone. As ruby ashes drift towards the tapestry, the invaders, seeing the tapestry’s last defense has failed, pour through, their entire force pushing through the largest rift in a massive final attack. The entire world shudders as the rift widens.

Aram Zey steps forward to rest under the falling ashes. “Pathfinders, you fought bravely and well, and your sacrifices were not in vain.” Aram Zey pauses, and his expression turns pensive. “But, the tapestry’s tale has not yet ended. There is clearly a force at work here that is greater than we realized,” he gestures out toward the invaders, “Furthermore, we have not permanently repaired the demiplane—we have only patched the worst of the damage and prevented irreversible catastrophe. I fear that…” Aram Zey’s voice trails off for a moment, “Yes, just as I thought.”

The ruby ashes begin to glow, faint as smoldering coals at first, and then intensifying, coalescing, and swirling in beautiful patterns as they lift Aram Zey into the air. “It seems the key to defending the tapestry is allowing its guardian to be reborn. I will do whatever I can to provide the arcane energy necessary to keep the tapestry stable. In the meantime, I hope the Society will search for a more permanent solution. I refuse to believe that the knowledge of the legendary Ruby Phoenix herself has been lost to us forever.” The ashes and Zey converge on a single point, a great ruby ember in the sky. There is a spark, and then the ember explodes. A wave of fire engulfs the tapestry as the Ruby Phoenix emerges from the explosion with a triumphant, piercing cry. Aram Zey floats within its heart, his body engulfed in ruby fire. The explosion’s flames reach the invaders first, turning them to ash and cinders. The flames wash over the tapestry’s defenders without harming them. The tapestry burns—but the fires replenish it, scouring the wasteland and restoring the tapestry’s original environments. The phoenix beats its wings, sending wave after wave of fire into the Astral rift and searing the portal shut. The phoenix soars in a great arc across the sky and flies off toward the sun.

Thank you everyone for playing, this concludes the adventure! Thanks especially to the GMs, ACG box runners, and intrepid backup GMs that made this event possible.

GMs, the house earned the Radiant Ruby Feathers boon.

Re-reading that initial description, there's also a broken cart next to the chapel. Could be useful if repaired, now that we have a horse. Anyone feel like doing some crafting to repair it?

Do we have any sense of how long we have?

We figured out who the horse belonged to, right? One of our missing Pathfinders, Larraz.

Reflex vs. flaming sphere: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 19

The green druid looks puzzled by Damiar's song, squinting ahead to try and find the source. One of the rats darts underfoot just as he stops watching where he's going and he trips over the creature, nearly falling, as the flaming sphere passes just over his head. Not realizing the horrible, burning fate the creature inadvertently saved him from, he berates the poor creature until he registers the heat of the sphere, just behind him.

Everything is fun until someone is a liability to others.

At that point you should turn on them, and kill them like a pack of rabid hyenas. They might have useful stuff. Better yet, get some use out of their hit points first. Shove them in front of threats. It's survival of the fittest after all.

I'm sure this was meant as a joke, but we do have new players asking questions here, and we don't want to give anyone the wrong idea. This is still Pathfinder Society play--no PvP, no stealing each other's stuff, no throwing your teammates to the wolves. Explore, Report, Cooperate.

It registered, no need to post here. The mission success condition requires more than one table to succeed, though, based on the number of tables playing (3/5 of the total). In this case, the missions won't be 'complete' until we get 17 successes for that mission (some of those will come from ACG as well).

The PFS boons purchasable with Playtest Points now list a cost increase after the first purchase, which is a good update. The listed increase, though, doesn't match the actual increase, at least for the one I've purchased thus far. The 'Experienced Adventurer' boon (start a character at 2nd level) says the starting price is 12 points and that it doubles after each purchase. After purchasing one, however, there is now a listed price of 48 points, 4x the starting price.

The fires banked and the tools returned to their pegs, Toby pulls closed the large rolling door to the smithy and steps out into the dusk of Talmandor's Bounty. His expression is one of a serious craftsman satisfied with a job well done, and it lasts for a whole ten seconds before be breaks into a grin and runs, tail wagging, for the shore. Sprinting the length of the wooden dock he dives headfirst into the water, the sound of the splash breaking the calm of the peaceful shore. He pulls himself up onto the end of the dock and dangles his feet in the water, listening to the gentle wash of surf against the shore as the sun slowly slips below the horizon. Toby rises and smiles as the vibrant colors of sunset fade into the deeper tones of night, and he strolls, whistling, back toward town. The quiet gloom of evening is interrupted once more by warm light and the sounds of friendly greetings as a tavern door opens, before the peace of a seaside evening once agains wraps itself around the shore.

I believe they said they are trying to make that happen, but I would imagine it's not at the top of the priority list regarding the guide. Also, they want the guide to be a living document, rather than something that gets updated once a year, so a PDF has the downside of potentially being out of date very quickly. I do know there are some folks working on improving the usability of the guide as well, so it may get easier soon.

    In case anyone missed it:

    Tyranius wrote:

    Hey Everyone,

I have some unfortunate news. I regret to inform you all that we will have to postpone Gameday VIII by 2 weeks.

This would place our new dates for Gameday at: 09 Sept 2019 - 17 Nov 2019

WHAT IS GOING ON? WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?

As most of you are aware, the majority of the GM’s have not received their scenario support for the Convention to include a good portion of the Specials. With Tonya occupied by other duties this weekend, we realized as a team that we are very unlikely to see the remainder of scenario support drop by Monday the 26th. Multiple avenues were discussed and what seems to be the best solution is to push Gameday back by two weeks. This will allow enough time for the GM’s to receive their scenarios and prep them.

BUT WHAT IF WE ALREADY HAVE OUR SCENARIOS, CAN WE START THEM?

Please hold off until the new start date to be able to eligible for your boon rewards. I understand this is a large inconvenience, we are doing everything we can to make this work. Part of that is to have everyone one the same start / end times rather than scattered.

We apologize for the inconvenience that this may cause, but we want all our GMs to have a chance to shine.

HOW DO I NOTIFY MY PLAYERS?

Go ahead and post the news to your tables. Feel free to copy this email if you wish. We will be posting notices in all the PBP lodges as well as the Gameday VIII Announcement page.

I know this is not what we hoped to do, and I’m sorry. Thank you for understanding that we’re scrambling to fix this.

If you have any other questions please don’t be afraid to ask.

    -Tyranius

I'll get an updated schedule posted in the next day or two, but this should push all our dates back by exactly two weeks. Feel free to muster your players and start collecting scenarios played, but don't post any box text or anything until the start date.
