Just finished running my first session of this game and I was very surprised with how difficult the starting fights are.. Granted I rolled really well with the drunken brawlers and the nonlethal stipulation added some difficulty. But after coming across the trap in Myron's wagon the party wants to rest and is low on hp. They definitely are not optimized for the edition. They don't have a cleric and don't have a focused healer but I still feel it's pretty rough to do all of this in one night..

When the pods use their reaction to burst are they disabled or do they continue using the routine until a PC disables it?

While re-reading book 2 I realized that event 4 states that Viralane recites a poem that isn't provided to read for the players. I wanted to immerse my players in the moment of this and I looked up poems that could fit into this moment. I found a poem that matches Windsong Abbey pretty well, especially if your players (like my players) have aided in restoring the Abbey a bit.

Here is the first two verses of the poem:

Hollow

Static, memories
Emanating, separating
The postcard- perfect
Still life speaks
From its storied past.
Invisible, to drift
Among
The florid aphorisms,
Ending in
Deleterious debris,
Aftermath of
The inevitable.

Empty room, echo hollow
Tabula rasa -
Carpet clean, quite candid in it's
Return to callow.
Consciousness athirst,
Absorbing phenomena
Effervesce, inquisitive
Ideas foment,
Sealed inside a question.
The what -
Against the narrow
Scarcity,
And fatigue of should.
