But, as always, if a plan can be done that won't burn resources that's A-Okay with me. Never know when you'll need them. Teleporting would also likely be very effective from the description so far.

All the same, if we can solve our predicament without expending the magics, I'm all for that, more for later. But Caun would be happy (as happy as Caun can be at least) to summon one and see what happens. So I guess I'd suggest using the rope across strategy. Also I'm in agreement with Ryzern, plans involving dangling Gnomes are hard to beat :-)
