Just by looking at your designs you get a sense of the life the character leads. Also I really appreciate how all the little items like teapots, bedrolls, lanterns, and trinkets reflect all the different bits of adventuring gear a typical RPG character carries around with them. Your designs are almost like visual character sheets and truly epitomize the hobby.

Anyways I'm a big fan. ;) So, here's my question:

Your costume designs have so many layers and details to them, how do you generally begin your design process? Do you start with a figure drawing and build it up layer by layer "dressing" the character, draw a few rough sketches first, begin by drawing a key element and work out from there, or are you so practiced at this point that you can just go for it free form?

Thanks!
Hello Wayne, first off I love your character designs, you really get a sense of the character's personality, history, and culture, from your drawings.
I've sent the article in on time! ...mostly thanks to the fact that I live on the east coast, but hey it still counts.

The article ended up being 1526 words long, featuring 8 magic items from 6 different writers!

I had to make a lot of edits, and rewrite some stuff, to make everything fit, and I had to cut a few submissions (including one of my own), but everyone who submitted got at least one of their items included!

It was fun working on this with all of you, after all what is Wayfinder for other then getting the community to work together on one big project.

I'd like to see more one-handed and two-handed weapons that work with the Weapon Finesse feat. If you've ever seen a martial artist wielding a weapon such as a spear, staff, or dao sword then you can see how it has more to do with dexterity then strength. I was rather disappointed that none of the one/two-handed Eastern Weapons from Ultimate Combat worked with Weapon Finesse.

How about something like this:

Balanced Weapons
A balanced weapon is a carefully weighted version of a normal weapon. When wielding it you can use the Weapon Finesse feat to apply your Dexterity modifier instead of your Strength modifier to attack rolls with a balanced weapon sized for you, even though it isn't a light weapon.

You can't add the balanced quality to a weapon after it is created; it must be crafted as a balanced weapon (see the Craft skill). The balanced quality adds 300 gp to the cost of a normal weapon. Adding the balanced quality to a double weapon costs twice the normal increase (+600 gp).

I'd also like to see mundane bonuses, qualities, and upgrades for weapons and armor for use in low magic settings where the usual magical and enchanted equipment wouldn't be setting appropriate.

And as said by many others consumable items like medicinal herbs, food, and drink would be welcome.
Weapon Finesse weapons, or weapon quality!
