 
Sign in to create or edit a product review. This is great background reading for the Pathfinder scenarios Fortress of the Nail, Veteran's Vault, Port Godless, and the Glories of the Past trilogy. It also gives great background for the Pathfinder Tales novel Lord of Runes. If you are a fan of Pathfinder Society I highly recommend reading this. If only Master of Devils had been as good as this. An excellent read! The characters don't do anything. Everything seems like it is on rails taking you from point A to point B. Also, the main character is a terrible thief, and doesn't seem too bright. EDIT: This really seems like a story written for another world and adapted for Golarion. Power level is way off (somehow Radovan becomes a 15th level monk and Varian Jeggare becomes a magus?) A bit too jumbled for my tastes, but still good. I'm not sure why shadow magic is automatically evil?
