Toes don't touch bottom

4/5

I played this scenario and loved it until the end despite a raging migraine and fever. The pace and setting was perfect, very eerie like ones toes may never touch bottom in the black waters beneath. One caution, playing up my prove to be fatal for the unprepared low level melee types.

Can be done with only one fight?! you betcha! Great role-playing opportunities. Work on those social skills kids you are pathfinders, not thugs. If you fight at even two, me thinks you've made some poor choices! Boons are nice too!

I like the item, it is really well thought out, scenario however was lacking. One ridiculously challenging fight in the middle even after we got the drop on them (thought it was the boss). Diplomacy a viable path to take. Found the end game confusing, can we get back, can she? What about Skelg?

Lots of great role-playing opportunities in the beginning. Buy a mage Armour and scrap the hot clothes. The Mountain map is ambitious but it doesn't translate well. Shame too, that was my favourite part. Gripes: Boss @ tier 1-2, really?!
Boons not that helpful given the relative danger.

This was a fairly well constructed adventure, a bit confusing at first. Why is our contact dead, why are we fighting again. Why do we always discover the recently slain body of our contact? Buy a Touch of the Sea Potion, 50gp. I will not spoil the whole scenario but stealth should not be over-rated here.

I played this scenario with small group. There does seem to be some herding with the check list but for newer players I can see this being a great tool to keep them on point. There are ways to solve problems without a fight. The fight at the end is a bit frustrating because of the tight quarters but not impossible by any means. One gripe: the skill checks are a tad high for greenies, eh?
