The original order had 3 t-shirts and is copied below. They apparently sat until my subscriptions hit and then only 2 t-shirts were added. I would just like to know why the last t-shirt ended up in limbo and wasn't shipped. And I have I paid multiple times for them including the last t-shirt which is now in my shopping cart?

So I'm going to assume that boons in SFS will be linked to the player instead of the character? A large chunk of PFS boom confusion is remembering which character had which boon.

And other than conventions will hopefully include methods that small groups that may not be able to muster 5 or 6+ tables have a chance of accomplishing?

Sczarni

The AP is listed as PFS sanctioned but no active link to docs?

Sczarni

In running Pathfinder Society since Season 1, I don't think I've needed to refer to this book once. I use it a lot in setting up home games but not really a travel book. I'm kind of confused by this one.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Subject pretty much says it all. It's been almost 2 months.

Sczarni

Ah, missed that. Thanks.

Side note, can they use devices like wands without UMD?

Sczarni

Sorry for the thread necromancy, but how are you using vanishing trick without a ki pool?

Sczarni 2/5

For the Eyes of the Ten arc, I know that once started the characters are locked until they complete the arc, but are characters allowed to come in after the first part without having played the first part? Basically, does the arc have to be done in order?

Sczarni

3-7 does seem kind of low for characters from 3 years ago. I know my ex-Lodger's already at 11. Would've liked to play this with him. Oh well.

Sczarni 2/5

Congratulations! And so well deserved!

Sczarni

Ah! Thank you. Good to know for the future.

Sczarni

This was put in my sidecart a few days ago. With my monthly order shipping soon will the item in my sidecart also being shipped with it? It's hard to tell.

If it is not, then can you please cancel and refund the order? I would prefer to just pick it up locally rather than wait until the end of December.

Thank you.

Sczarni

I find the organizers from Broken Token to be awesome, personally. And they do have artist case organizers which you could keep all the character cards from both boxes and the Class Decks in. Putting everything into 1 container might be too much.

Perhaps keep the sets in each box with organizers and keep the character stuff in its own box?

Ah, my ninja got ninja'd. :p

Sczarni

Redcaps are pretty straightforward killers. Quicklings and Spring-Heeled Jacks for hit and run attacks. Svartalfar with their Greater Invisibility and Sneak Attack and Bane weapon combo are also devastating.

Fauns and Satyrs throwing the enemy's grunts into confusion. Not to mention all the Enchantments that Fey can throw around.

Sczarni

So, everything was held up because of the Character Add-On expansion? Is this the same expansion that I can clearly see in multiple pictures of Paizo's booth at Gencon? Thanks a lot.

Yeah, this was majorly mishandled and makes me clearly see what my loyalty as a subscriber is worth.

Sczarni

So it's safe to assume that it's not happening today?

Mine went from expected to ship by the 22nd today, to "waiting for back ordered"

This whole subscription cycle seems wonk this month.

Wonky is definitely the right word for it. We've updated the My Subscriptions pages to warn that its misdisplaying pending and upcoming shipments. For accurate releases information please check the Product Schedule page.

Anyone with Character Class decks in their subscription order should have had them moved to their sidecart to ship with a future subscription shipment as soon as we heard the bad news, so your order shouldn't be delayed by them. To anyone who still hasn't received their PDFs you have my genuine apologies about this, it's one thing when your order is one of the last ones to be processed on a normal sub month, but when it's going on 3 weeks due to GenCon it may feel like we don't care, which is far from the truth. Thanks again for your patience while we get the last orders shipped.

- Erik Keith

My Subscription (no Class Decks, just S&S, Add-On Deck, ACG, and Social Combat cards) went from forever "Pending" to "Waiting for Back Ordered Items". Still no PDF for my Advanced Class Guide either. :(

Sczarni 2/5

So with all the Faction changes, will there be free faction resets?

Sczarni 2/5

And another set of characters end up changing over to Grand Lodge...

I should just switch them all over and save the trouble.

Sczarni

I can't wait for the Reaper miniature. Should be a blast to paint up.

So no one else had the Master of Swords tell them: "I don’t care how you reach the Aspis Consortium’s portal, but we need to teach those greedy profiteers a lesson for trespassing on Pathfinder territory. I need you to get in, wipe the shrine clean of Aspis filth, and secure the tapestry side of their portal."

Or the Master of Spells saying: "Go through the portal, eliminate any opposition on the other end, and secure the base for our own use."

Or asked by Venture Captain Heidmarch to deal with a certain sleeping persona: "Whatever it takes, end this threat to Varisia—permanently."

Hmmm. I guess we were just singled out for these tasks for some reason...

Sczarni

2 people marked this as a favorite.

I would be happy that my players are invested enough in the game to do research on their own and not just hit the problem head on until one side or the other broke.

I read the forums and rules all the times about how to handle hypothetical situations and how spells and effects interact. If I apply that knowledge to an encounter I play in a few weeks down the line am I cheating?

Sczarni

Alternately, take Weapon Finesse, throw 2 ranks into Perform (Dance) and take Dervish Dance. Druids start proficient with scimitars and you would be able to use your Dex modifier for both attack rolls and damage. Keep your Dex up and you benefit for AC, To Hit, and Damage.

Sczarni

Pathfinder is really not overly complex. If you break it down into its component parts:

* 1d20 + modifiers vs Target Number for determining resolution.
* Resource Management (Hit Points, Spells per day, consumables, actions/round)

The complexity comes in digging into the system to create the most efficient utilization of whichever aspect you are focused on during character generation (action economy, damage per round, armor class, spell saves, etc.) and remembering how they interact.

The best measure of a game's complexity is if you gave a new player a pregenerated character could they learn most of the game's systems?

Likewise, people often point out Champions/Hero System as incredibly complex when it's a simple roll under on 3d6 mechanic. Character Generation offers you a large host of options but making a vanilla generic character is simple (strong guy, smart guy, skill monkey). Carving out the perfect custom character can be like sculpting their image from marble (same as Pathfinder these days really).

Here's what I use frequently on my iPad mini:

-iBooks I get free books from Project Gutenberg. I also read my Pathfinder Tales on it.
-GoodReader Someone here on the boards recommended it. It's one of the only apps I have paid for. It is a great app for reading pdf's. You can save a copy and add annotations and notes to them. It's fast with them, not as much lag as in iBooks. There's hardly any lag with page loading with the lite versions of the books.
-Herolab character sheet If you use Herolab, this turns your iPad into a character sheet.

Ditto but on my regular iPad.

* I have all the novels and several of the short fiction collections in iBooks (it also serves as proof for Boon sheets).
* I have all PFS mods from Seasons 0-4 in Goodreader, with annotated copies of the ones that I have run recently, along with pdfs of every Pathfinder supplement and rule book.
* I have all of my characters (and my wife's characters too) sheets from Herolab in their tablet app.
* I use a spreadsheet I created in Numbers to keep track of what scenarios I have played and run.

I had an android tablet but ended up abandoning it for my iPad.

Since Reaper makes the metal unpainted Iconics figures and 8 out of the 11 are in their super-cheap Bones line, I would think that it is just a matter of time before the remaining Iconics get the Bones treatment as well.

As an alternate, you could put the token cards in some of these: http://paizo.com/store/byCompany/l/litkoAerosystems/stands

I'm not 100% sure on the size of the token cards.

Sczarni

I agree that sneak attack is hella hard to pull off without a dedicated partner.

My wife's rogue in the Council of Thieves AP got frustrated with the group and just took a wand of Darkness to let her get off Sneak Attacks.

My high mobility fighter in PFS always makes sure to set up flanking positions for any rogues at the table to give them a chance to shine in combat.

Even my "rogue" (urban ranger/ninja) in PFS only ever gets played when my wife plays my PC's twin. They have teamwork feats to increase chances to hit (Outflank) while flanking and regain the d6 of Sneak Attack lost by taking 2 levels of Urban Ranger (Precise Strike). We also split some of the skills between us (I took CHA, she took INT) in order to be able to cover just about any challenge.

If you're looking at a home campaign, bribe/extort another player to be your flank buddy. If you can get them to take Outflank along with you then it helps offset the rogue's poor BAB.

Honestly, if possible, convince your GM to let you use the Guide to the Talented Rogue and its followup with more Talents to choose from.

Sczarni 2/5

If I had a regular group of tactically minded individuals who worked together like a well-oiled machine and whose PCs were designed to work in conjunction then I would try this. But with the random hodge-podge you usually get at conventions and game days, no way.

Sczarni 2/5

Pirates you say? Well everyone has to earn a living somehow, so I have no normal quarrel with them. However, if I learn that these scurvy riddled criminals are the ones responsible for providing the Aspis Consortium with the surplus of basilisks that they recently seem to have developed, then there shall be a reckoning!!!

Not that I mind the new boots, pants, cloak, and vest I have made from all of these beasties that I have killed, but washing their blood out of my hair every time I need to be unpetrified is amazingly tiring. I know my sister Celeste (the smart one) can back up my claims.

So if anyone needs us to venture forth on Mr. Soggy Whiskers, our captured and somewhat domesticated sea cat, out to these basilisk providing scoundrels' ship and violently liberate some documents then let us know. We will even turn over the documents to their rightful owners for only a marginal fee.
