Can anyone give me pointers on PbPs? Just the basics. I wan't to get into one but I'd like to know a little bit about etiquette before I go in blind

How long did it take you to get into your first PbP? I'm very keen on the idea, but I just started the message boards. Doesn't seem like anyone wants to bite the hooks I'm throwin out. . .
