Black Caul heads over to the armory, and speaks with the Half-Orc (assuming she's there).

"So. What's a fella gotta do to get a few of his things back around here?"

Oh good, rope hauling today. Just what I always wanted.

Prof(Sailor): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Black Caul gives a slight shrug to himself and gets to work.
While, working he asks the shipmates along side him about the general state of the ship's officers and crew.

Black Caul saunters up the stairs.

What in the bloody seas is that son-of-a-devil doing? That won't go over well.

Caul grins a wide, jagged, toothy grin. He's got spirit, though. Gotta give 'em that.

Caul takes the rum gladly and downs most of it in the first hard pull he takes. Ah, missed you old friend. Tomorrow I should start learning names, but tonight I sleep.

Black Caul let the weariness take him, his last thoughts before fading

It's good to be home.

"Nice to meet you, Caul. Is Black your actual first name? What skills do you have?"

Caul shakes his head, and shrugs.

"Fraid not. Just a given name. Seems I have some sort off a reputation. As for skills. Well, lets just say if ya got a man tied up, I ain't afraida be the one'at cuts his throat. No job to dirty. No honor in me, they say. Sounds trite, but there it is. Black Caul."

Caul eyes the lot gambling at a table, excitement bursting in an uproar.

One man's gain, another's loss. That's life, and there it is. Everything on a balance. But with little skill? Black Caul shook his head. Not for me. Now, if there's a fighter's circle to be entered...

As much as he hated it, Veltisiel still did have all of his spells ready, and as such could make do without his spellbook for one more day. As such, he gritted his teeth and decided to introduce himself to his fellows that he had woken up with in the hold.

Black Caul flashes a pointed, feral grin.

"Name's Black Caul," he says. Wonder if this is the sort of fellow that would stab anyone in the back? Looks calculating. Perhaps he's figuring assets and that sort thing. Or perhaps he looking to see who he can shank and climb over. Don't really know. Never do. "Looks like we'll be seeing lots of each other now, I reckon."

With a nod, he continues past Veltisiel over to his hammock and sits in it, keeping a watch on the group as a whole.

Black Caul lets out a low sigh, trying to keep from being too audible.

Yay. Net work. So exciting, I can barely contain myself. Ah well. Not like I haven't done it before. Ol' Captain Jervy woulda said 'A captain should know every part of ship, stem to stern. And that includes net minding and repairs!' But what the devil does he know? He's a whaler, at heart. No, that's no life for me.
Then Black Caul looks down at his finger work.
Neither is this. Bloody peasant work. Bide your time Cauly, bide your time. Then he grinned.
Prof(Sailor): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Just like old times.

Caul looks around as he works, taking care to note his ship mates working along side him.
Is there anyone who looks like they might be either a particular threat to him or particularly weak?

Caul's head throbbed as his waking body swayed with the rocking of the boat.

Must have had too much to dri - wait. I'd recognize that wood creaking anywhere. I've been brought here. Then that means... Black Caul grins at himself for playing the fool. That gal's good. She got me. But now I've got a part to play. Nothin' doin' 'bout that.

"Aye, sir," he says to the Master-at-Arms through closed teeth, careful to mark the man giving orders, and even more careful to learn his name if given in response to tiefling. Then Black Caul makes a brave attempt at running as straight as he can while running toward the set of stairs.

Caul shakes his head, but the foggy, throbbing, dizziness remains.

Looking forward to the hangover...(first time for everything?)

Ah. Sorry, didn't see you post it earlier, mate. Much thanks for the timely response!

Sorry to see you go. Spreadsheet updated.

Any way to share that sheet or post who we've got going into the final day? Just curious to see who I've gotta cut down, to keep outta my way...

Black Caul grins.
"I ain't goin' away just yet lads."

Estimate on the end time for recruiting?...

Backstory:

Caul is perfectly rational, calm, and always in control. Except when he isn't. He has a dark reputation, hence his name. He has a quick-triggered temper, but seems to be able to cool off as quickly as he heats up. Caul is an unrepentant, merciless savage of whom it has even been rumored that he has killed a few children in order to free an arrest. It didn't happen quite like that, stories always being exaggerated and all. As far as he's concerned, life's hard in the Shackles. Only man that survives is a harder one. Sometimes tough things need to be done. There it is.

Caul's father was a Free Captain, so hearing, "Ah, if it isn't Captain Grave Morley's kid," certainly hasn't been old for over two decades. Getting out the great wake made from his father's notoriety has been hard for him. Not cutting someone's throat every time he hears about dear Captain Dad is even harder.

Recently, Caul has been working aboard a whaling ship as a harpooner, but there's been little success in it, so he's decided to leave. It doesn't hurt that the decision has been encouraged by the whaling captain, after he shoved another crew member over board after tempers flared. So he decided to head to the Formidably Maid to start his own career. Time for his own ship. His own name. Only a beauty caught his eye, and after some winks and drinks, he's been cuffed and stuffed in a sack.

Master Elodin submitting Black Caul. Just have to finalize his backstory. One thing I know - he loves a good stew! ;)
