I am going to work on getting the ball rolling tomorrow. Will review sheets today if there are any issues, we can correct in game.

Excellent.

So here is what I am looking at. I have several pre-made adventures including the book for Karak Azgal for those of you looking for dwarf centered adventure. But, I can just as easily run anywhere in the Empire.

I am very player centered as a GM. I like you guys getting the most out of the experience as possible and see us as a collaborative story telling team. There will be times where I hand wave in order to maintain the flow of the story, but Warhammer is a brutal setting and death is just a fact of life even for heroes and I believe this part of the appeal.

For character creation, I like the random nature of 2nd Ed. Depending on what route you guys wanna take, I may be influenced to allow a certain career, i.e. Slayer or Rat Catcher for example.

For you guys, I want to know what sort story you like most, high adventure, horror, suspense, ect. Warhammer allows for a pretty diverse range, but always with Morr in the peripheral.

What is your favorite opponent?

Favorite Warhammer Novel?

Region in the Empire?

Aspect of Warhammer?

Speed of play? 1 a day, ect.

I recognize most of your names and anyone who wants to play WHFRPG 2nd has likely been around these boards long enough to know speed kills in PbP. If stuff happens in real life and you need to drop out for good or for a time, just let me know and either you will be sent off in a blaze of glory or stamped with question mark as you are dragged off to some unknown fate. Any time you wanna come back just do so in the ooc and we will slide you back in. I can run a right down to a one on one, but communication is key.

The only strict rule I have is players must be able to separate their in-character from the OOC.

Thoughts and questions?

I would go Smite. Lightning feels more appropriate for the Wolves.

I know that Deathwatch and its variations do not have the best track record on these boards, but I am gauging interest in a Deathwatch/Single Chapter campaign.

This going to heavily player driven as the Warhammer world is incredibly rich…almost to the point of being overwhelmingly so! But, I feel a majority of games collapse in PbP due to lessened connection created by the digital environment so it is important to keep everyone as involved in as many aspects as possible.

What this means is Marine origin and primary enemy will be a matter of consensus. I want everyone who plays to get the most out of the game. I plan to run things at a decent clip as speed of play can become burdensome in any game, but especially one with modern combat. There will be times where certain aspects are hand-waived for integrity of the story, but never if it will risk the PC’s not getting a chance to live or die a glorious death for God-Emperor.

I do plan to run a somewhat unique recruitment where those with the most experience with the 40k world will be the in the Alpha team with a Bravo team that will and complete newbies will be in a training section to learn the rules and setting. The Bravo team will be in place to fill folks who have to drop out and to play the role of Chapter drill instructors and new folks will be assigned to the 10th Company as scouts. Missions for the 10th Company will move more at the speed of PFS games with a focus on learning the rules and working as squad in combat.

If veteran players chose to go to the Bravo team they will rewarded with rank and a bonus in their character creation, as it will assist in new folks and myself with keeping on the right side of the rules and also to help enrich the feel of the setting.
As fallouts or deaths happen the 10th Company will be called on for replacements. Something to be aware of in any Warhammer setting is that death of characters is going to happen. Period. It is something which sets the setting apart from many others. I would suggest anyone unfamiliar with the setting stop the library or look at http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Warhammer_40k_Wiki to learn the perils of the 41st Millennia.

This should be enough to get us established to open a Campaign page if there is enough interest and we can hammer out everything else from there.

In the military they run commercials on the Armed Forces Network warning about the dangers of speculation. I would have to say that same advice applies here. Why get upset before you even know a single constant? And even more so if you are not a 3PP?

I have been feeling like Pathfinder is suffering bloat and all the characters feel like they are being boiled down to railroaded builds in many, not all, cases. I like a lot of the things Pathfinder has done, but at the same time is caters to the "I want to be able to use my two hander everywhere all the time" crowd. Any games out there where as a player I given a solid reason not to Min/Max?

Dotting
Weapon Skill: 2d10 + 30 ⇒ (10, 2) + 30 = 42
Ballistic Skill: 2d10 + 30 ⇒ (3, 7) + 30 = 40
Strength: 2d10 + 30 ⇒ (10, 7) + 30 = 47
Toughness: 2d10 + 30 ⇒ (5, 3) + 30 = 38
Agility: 2d10 + 30 ⇒ (10, 1) + 30 = 41
Intelligence: 2d10 + 30 ⇒ (4, 2) + 30 = 36
Perception: 2d10 + 30 ⇒ (10, 8) + 30 = 48
Willpower: 2d10 + 30 ⇒ (6, 9) + 30 = 45
Fellowship: 2d10 + 30 ⇒ (8, 2) + 30 = 40

Re-roll Intelligence: 2d10 + 30 ⇒ (9, 4) + 30 = 43

Now I will see if I can come up with something suitable.

Any ideas on what direction most have chosen?

20. Thanks guys. I would like to assume the assist other put in play made it work! Hahaha. Good thing the sales field is all about making people do what you want and not always what they should. Managed to get the second interview there and then and a job offer before it was all said and done. Good thing I am more like a bard in real life. ;)

Hey guys, sorry I have been a little inconsistent the last week or so. I retire from the military on Friday and have been very busy at work and looking for a employment. I should be back to a normal posting schedule very soon. Again I apologize and hope that has not been too much of an inconvenience. Hope the France trip went well. Sounds like a blast!

I would suggest not taking an animal at this point since his level will be tied to your druid level and not overall level. Level 1 pets don't last long.

You're right near Waverly? That place is awesome.

Yeah, about 6 miles from my front door. There are neighborhoods right in its creepy shadow.

Given the bravery shown by the girl at every step along this journey Fernis answers before Mareike is able. "But she does,Dawi. The girl is a Stoutanvil if ever I saw one. Brave as any dwarf I know and fittin' ta carry one's name. Cultist and Chaos beast she moved always forward. More dwarf than not to be sure. The Stoutanvil clan will accept ye with open arms in any hold which they live, lass. Take this.", he says as he flips a bronze ancestor token to the girl."That'll prove who ye are any hold."

Just got adopted, Mareike, hahaha. Classic fantasy right there,it is.

Leaning on a stout rucksack strapped and bulging with all manner of dungeoneering gear, the stout dwarf chimes in,"I've been around these parts to be sure, but I am not so sure I would want to be running off to see a Chelish anything as my first point of business. She is sure to keep us there all day acting as though she has no idea as to why we've come. Paracountess at that! Probably has some of those idiotic man toys they love to keep about. Most of the time they don't even give you there real names. One of them introduced himself to me as "The Situation" whatever the hells that is supposed to mean." Scratching his chin as he reviews the note, he continues,"What about these orphans? Looks like it could be made quick work of."

Turning for a moment he calls over his shoulder,"The name's Slagtoes, Grogson Slagtoes. Almost forgot my city manners there."

Anyone know a burly Norwegian living in the American Mid West who can thatch Rose's roof, lol?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

This would be much easier if I were stationed at Riely rather than Knox, lol.

I the case of an older mobile home you will need to patch the spot with roofing tar. It comes in a gallon can at Lowe's or Home Depot. It runs less than $20 and you will need a roller or wide paint brush. It may be coming in where the metal to metal seems meet and may need some seam sealer which comes in caulk tube. Not sure what the temps there are this weekend, but if they are near 50 F you will be able to make enough of a patch to keep the water out till this spring when you need to use roof sealant for mobile homes.

I remember doing that job as a kid. It can get a little messy and leave you looking like the Tinman, but at least you stay dry. ;)

Hahaha, oh cars....I swear that they will get ya if you are not careful. I have to sell the Falcon. Just so damned tired of dealing with a project car. Too much money gets wrapped in them quick.

But, to the issue of your house. Have you peeped your head in the attic to see where the leak is originating? Many time a roofing nail will have lost its seal and begin to let water in around it. This can be repaired with roofing sealant (comes in a caulking tube) and a screw from the outside. If you still have snow up there you need to (or even better get someone else, ;)) to remove it. The weight of all that snow and the melting will lead more water getting in, especially if it is coming in through a seam in the wood.

Rapid Reload and alchemical cartridges reduce the reload time to a free action at level one for a one handed weapon and a move action for a two-hander. And if you take Musket Master it will be a free action by the time he reaches third. The musket reaches out there and he needs to play it as such. By focusing on other ranged fighters, mounts, sundering equipment, and killing casters he can be a terror on the battle field. Adding a bayonet and using cover/higher positions he can continue to fire with no need to move in the early levels.

Halfling snipers with the Stealthy Sniper alternate racial ability are pretty tough, too. No rule says that a firearm gives away your position any faster than a bow/crossbow...

Stranger in a strange land...:

As a young man coming of age in Alkenstar, Thomas Farlandar always dreamed of the exotic riches and beautiful woman of Katapesh. Tales of powerful shieks and even more powerful merchants would fill his head as he road the ranges of the Mana Waste. Always spending as much time near trader caravans to hear even a smidge, made up or not, of the amazing place. Learning to handle a musket with more skill than many of his peers, Thomas quickly made name for himself laying random shambling dead to rest from great distances.

Skilled in the saddle as he is with a musket, Farlandar racked up many trophies in the local races. Finally the day came when the boy had become a man,a man with tales of the Pathfinders rattling in his head. Making for Abaslom, the rifleman found what he sought in the form of the Grand Lodge. Managing to talk his way into the organization, he soon found his mission would take him to the land of his dreams. Given the names Garavel and Kelmarane, Tom gathered his gear, loaded his horse, and made for the port.

What might lay ahead? Will the deserts and villages be as amazing as he'd been told? A smile split his face as it did not matter, only the fact he was not tending aurochs in a blasted land stuck between two crazed empires. Trotting up to the ship that would soon take him abroad, Thomas slipped from his prized companion,Frizzen, walked forward to greet his new shipmates.

Thomas Farlandar is outgoing larger than life type who will fill the ranged fighter/skills role if picked up. I chose the Seeking Adventure trait. I will finish out the sheet if chosen.
