So...living flame? Can anyone summon fire elemental, breathe fire or otherwise make fire living? :D If not, I'm fine with continuing

Male Koldemar Fighter 5/Master of many styles 1 HP 54/64, AC 24, T 18, FF 18; Fort 9, Ref 8, Will 5; Perception +9, initiative +6

Bas gives the detailed once over to both statues, given the traces of flame.

"The inscription here says 'Cast the living flame into me.'" Bas points the inscription to others.
"The wizard seems untouched, maybe he is actual source of the fire? Maybe that raised staff shoots fire?"

OOC: taking 20 to search, taking care not to step between them (so kinda one-sided unless one can climb behind them)

Male Koldemar Fighter 5/Master of many styles 1 HP 54/64, AC 24, T 18, FF 18; Fort 9, Ref 8, Will 5; Perception +9, initiative +6

"The precision of the statues...could they be actual creatures, frozen in stone? At least the drake one?" asks Basdemar

But he is more interested in the statues, in particular, space between them.

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
OOC: Are there traces of fire or other hazards?

Male Koldemar Fighter 5/Master of many styles 1 HP 54/64, AC 24, T 18, FF 18; Fort 9, Ref 8, Will 5; Perception +9, initiative +6

"So, we can go now?" Basdemar asks
"I let this one go for one minute and come after him. A bit of sport for me." he makes a show of teeth toward a goblin and flexes his claws, hopefully understandable even without language

Intimidate +5 if needed, the idea is to prevent the runt from going to his master and ratting on us, he needs to run away ;) But Bas won't kill him outright

Male Koldemar Fighter 5/Master of many styles 1 HP 54/64, AC 24, T 18, FF 18; Fort 9, Ref 8, Will 5; Perception +9, initiative +6

"Only good goblin is dead goblin." Bas deadpans.
"We can let him go into eternal tunnels wherever his faith will take him." [i]too many teeth visible

Bas approaches the goblin. Kobolds and goblins are often the underdogs of the evil world and he hopes this will assuage fears of the goblin.

"Come, these longshanks aren't randomly killing goblins as they see them. Only those that attack them. Answer them truthfully, the shaman can read into your soul and the wizard is reading your mind. Look at how focused he looks."

He offers his clawed hand
"Out!"

LOL

Bas doesn't feel happy being left behind, but stealth requires staying behind for the moment. Still, it rattles that he, the champion, waits for others to take the brunt of the attack.

Male Koldemar Fighter 5/Master of many styles 1 HP 54/64, AC 24, T 18, FF 18; Fort 9, Ref 8, Will 5; Perception +9, initiative +6

"I'm in!" Bas whispers. "If I can hide behind you longshanks, I can even surprise someone back!"

Male Koldemar Fighter 5/Master of many styles 1 HP 54/64, AC 24, T 18, FF 18; Fort 9, Ref 8, Will 5; Perception +9, initiative +6

Bas crouches under the table and relaxes a bit to unwind from the sudden attack of the great beast. He actually cosies up to the still warm corpse essentially disappearing behind it.

"We might take a minute to check this room first?"

OOC: recovering stamina

Male Koldemar Fighter 5/Master of many styles 1 HP 54/64, AC 24, T 18, FF 18; Fort 9, Ref 8, Will 5; Perception +9, initiative +6

bleh! anyhow, if -2 from the round doesn't count it is 19. If there is flanking involved, it is again 19 and add 2 more damage

Claw OA: 1d20 + 13 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 13 - 2 = 17
OA damage: 1d4 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

Male Koldemar Fighter 5/Master of many styles 1 HP 54/64, AC 24, T 18, FF 18; Fort 9, Ref 8, Will 5; Perception +9, initiative +6

2 minutes equals 2 stamina, but "while resting" - we weren't resting, so I wouldn't say it neccessarily means Bas recovered anything...

(as you can see, I re-read the rules) :)
Quote: You regains stamina points by resting for short periods of time. ... ... but you can't exert yourself... you stop regaining stamina points if you enter combat

I would say no 2d6 extra damage...but if DM rules he DID recover, than by all means, use it.

Male Koldemar Fighter 5/Master of many styles 1 HP 54/64, AC 24, T 18, FF 18; Fort 9, Ref 8, Will 5; Perception +9, initiative +6

Basdemar snarls and rushes toward the creature that dared to attack him earlier. Without stealth this time, he roars a challenge and charges at it head-on.

Charge claw 2 stamina: 1d20 + 13 - 2 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 13 - 2 + 2 + 2 = 25
Damage 2 stamina: 1d4 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 6 + 4 = 14
If there was enough delay to recover stamina from earlier then 3 more to add 2d6 on a hit (feel free to roll)

Day is correct, everybody can take their actions for the round. Levn stepped into the room with a ready action. Alfric/Bas/Day/Kellen are up. The table is low cover, so anyone not adjacent to the table/barghest will take a penalty to hit the monster.

does being small helps or is a hindrance? In a sense Bas can go under the table or he cannot attack over the table?

Bas- DC 18 Will save or -2 penalty on attack rolls, saving throws, ability checks, skill checks, and weapon damage rolls for 9 minutes.

Will save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

(armor gives +2 to all saves vs spells and spell-likes)
(+2 vs sleep/paralyzation)
(+1 if fear effect)

The above modifiers are cumulative - if all apply add 5 to the result

EDIT: useless modifiers :( when I get high stealth, I enter into the maw of the beast, when I need to do something I get 1 :D

Male Koldemar Fighter 5/Master of many styles 1 HP 54/64, AC 24, T 18, FF 18; Fort 9, Ref 8, Will 5; Perception +9, initiative +6

Bas looks around straining his senses
Daymar, it can only teleport where it can see? Or does it just need to know the layout of the building? It is hurt, I got it good. Will it regenerate?"

He motions behind Levn
"That is one place it could see from that hallway. If even that."
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24

Male Koldemar Fighter 5/Master of many styles 1 HP 54/64, AC 24, T 18, FF 18; Fort 9, Ref 8, Will 5; Perception +9, initiative +6

Bas' speed is 30
Speed 30 ft. (even in up to medium armor)

Male Koldemar Fighter 5/Master of many styles 1 HP 54/64, AC 24, T 18, FF 18; Fort 9, Ref 8, Will 5; Perception +9, initiative +6

Bas snarls at the creature, his nature and training pushing him to attack until one or the other is dead.
But he fought things on this journey, things outside his normal experience, giants, bullette, drakes...not one of those things reacted as he expected to his savaging.

And each time he expected it, he almost died.

But he cannot, but try to hurt the thing. He flips over and retreats back to the group. But at the best point of his turn he lashes down with his clawed foot leaving nasty gash on barghests snout.

Acrobatics to avoid OA: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (17) + 17 = 34
Claw: 1d20 + 13 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 13 + 1 = 33
Damage: 1d4 + 3 + 2 + 2d6 ⇒ (4) + 3 + 2 + (6, 5) = 20
Spend 5 stamina to apply boar style rend and get +1 to hit and +2 to damage

EDIT: oh, why I didn't to a tail flip to crit it!!

Male Koldemar Fighter 5/Master of many styles 1 HP 54/64, AC 24, T 18, FF 18; Fort 9, Ref 8, Will 5; Perception +9, initiative +6

@Sir Alfric As I understand it, I'm grabbed, so no movement

Male Koldemar Fighter 5/Master of many styles 1 HP 54/64, AC 24, T 18, FF 18; Fort 9, Ref 8, Will 5; Perception +9, initiative +6

Reflexively he slashes across things snout, trying to dislodge it. He then goes into full flurry of attacks, cutting into the neck and trying for the eyes, biting over the snout, slashing with the tail from underneath trying to get to the neck.

OOC: all damage is magical slashing except the piercing bite
Claw 1: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29
Damage 1: 1d4 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9 add 2 if barghest is denied dex bonus
Claw 2: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22
Damage 2: 1d4 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 add 2 if barghest is denied dex bonus
Bite: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25
Bite damage: 1d4 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8 add 2 if barghest is denied dex bonus
Tail: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Tail damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 add 2 if barghest is denied dex bonus
Boar shred: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 4) = 6 add to the second hit in case of damage resistance it is treated as a single damage roll

Assuming 22 hits, it is 30 damage plus 6 if it is denied it's dex bonus, if 25 hits it is 23 + 4

Nope. It was the assumption that we're still in the hallway and not barging through the space. If someone is observing him right at the moment we opened the door, he can be seen.

"Let me check the door." whispers Bas sliding toward the open door.

Stealth: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (18) + 17 = 35
Perception is +9 if needed for traps or to see inside the room, feel free to roll as needed

Male Koldemar Fighter 5/Master of many styles 1 HP 54/64, AC 24, T 18, FF 18; Fort 9, Ref 8, Will 5; Perception +9, initiative +6

"No. I spotted the tripwire, did a quick round, but I was afraid you'll barge in and trip the trap. So I returned just in time to see a drake landing. Besides, I'm a warrior, not a trap finder."
He looks into a space for a moment
"I understand why you think I can, my people are expert trapsmiths...but I am a tribal champion, not a scout."

Male Koldemar Fighter 5/Master of many styles 1 HP 54/64, AC 24, T 18, FF 18; Fort 9, Ref 8, Will 5; Perception +9, initiative +6

"I cannot deal with it. But we can go around. Bas responds "And for blind and deaf...the walls are thick and no one responded by now. We'll waste some time to move the drake, sure, but the next flyer coming in won't be immediately alerted."

Male Koldemar Fighter 5/Master of many styles 1 HP 54/64, AC 24, T 18, FF 18; Fort 9, Ref 8, Will 5; Perception +9, initiative +6

"A bit obvious to leave it here. But if this fight didn't attract attention we might get lucky with the rest." Bas comments.

"At the entrance there is a trip wire. We should probably pull the beast inside, but we need to remove the trap first. We could maybe use drakes tail to trigger it from afar? Or somehow cut the wire safely?"

Male Koldemar Fighter 5/Master of many styles 1 HP 54/64, AC 24, T 18, FF 18; Fort 9, Ref 8, Will 5; Perception +9, initiative +6

So, no damage from Bas or he was ignored?
Anyhow, the moved so either Bas gets opportunity attack or he can attack after one move action (if the drake remained within 30 from Bas...or Bas needs to charge (reuse rolls from the above?)
Can you give us relative positions in relation to the drake? Obviously, Alfric is in melee :)

Male Koldemar Fighter 5/Master of many styles 1 HP 54/64, AC 24, T 18, FF 18; Fort 9, Ref 8, Will 5; Perception +9, initiative +6

Bas peaks around the door as he heard the commotion and swears in draconic. He would really prefer to be stealthy, but he cannot reach the creature even with all-out running.

He tries though, running at it slashing at the mangled wing with his claws

Claw charge: 1d20 + 13 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 13 + 2 = 28 - add 2 if flanking
Claw damage: 1d4 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9 - add 2 if drake is denied it's dex bonus

Clear. I didn't want to move in before others come so they don't barge in through the trap

Ouch!

Bas doesn't trust his clawed hands enough to sever the wire without triggering the trap whatever it is. He remains next to the door, waiting to warn others before they trigger it.

He winces at the 'stealth' of his companions, but he knows how hard it can be to keep the attention both on the ground and all around one self.

If they get discovered under the cammo, they are not strays as cammo is obviously artificial. Basdemar will remain outside. He can hide as needed and can keep watch.

Male Koldemar Fighter 5/Master of many styles 1 HP 54/64, AC 24, T 18, FF 18; Fort 9, Ref 8, Will 5; Perception +9, initiative +6

We're in some kind of cover aren't we? I mean, there are some trees somewhere I hope :D The horses cannot all disappear like Avalanche can.

Male Koldemar Fighter 5/Master of many styles 1 HP 54/64, AC 24, T 18, FF 18; Fort 9, Ref 8, Will 5; Perception +9, initiative +6

IIRC, Avalanche can disappear as needed

Basdemar asks casters for other options.
"Can we be invisible for the time needed to move to the fort? We can always wait for the cover of night. And use the day to look for drakes and who is inside with them..."

Male Koldemar Fighter 5/Master of many styles 1 HP 54/64, AC 24, T 18, FF 18; Fort 9, Ref 8, Will 5; Perception +9, initiative +6

What would be the option of coming from above?

Bas adds to his report
"There is a drake on the roof, not really guarding, but still probably aware enough. I don't think we can approach the fort directly without some kind of distraction or cover. Maybe coming from the mountain itself?

The alternative of course being that we make a flag like the one we saw earlier and try to bluff our way in.

Male Koldemar Fighter 5/Master of many styles 1 HP 54/64, AC 24, T 18, FF 18; Fort 9, Ref 8, Will 5; Perception +9, initiative +6

"No risk, no reward." says Bas, but relents
"I won't go inside or approach the guards."

Stealth: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (5) + 17 = 22 EDIT: figures
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
Sleight of hand: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 20 - if there is a chance for some mischief in exchanging items or making minor traps
EDIT: this is if it is possible to cause strife by cutting straps on horses or stealing horns or other minor items from unattended objects not stealing from eventual patrols directly

"Night is the time for stalking. And once inside, there may be no light at all. We can camp here, by all means. It is safer than being caught on that path. But that will also be the case in the morning where we will be visible while going down. At what time are the drakes most active?
Basdemar is ready to go and scouting in the night would be his preference, but not everyone can see in the dark or appreciate being hidden.

Male Koldemar Fighter 5/Master of many styles 1 HP 54/64, AC 24, T 18, FF 18; Fort 9, Ref 8, Will 5; Perception +9, initiative +6

Bas doesn't care either way. But we're here to hunt drakes, not follow strange men. On the other hand, he is on the side of the community. And these fellows might be what started those rumours, they approach somewhere, they are humans, they are let inside and then proceed to slaughter everyone and blame goblinoids for that...but that's my paranoia, not Basdemars :)

I didn't mean to. I meant to stay near the group, 20-30 feet away. Move is just to avoid the direct line between the groups.

Male Koldemar Fighter 5/Master of many styles 1 HP 54/64, AC 24, T 18, FF 18; Fort 9, Ref 8, Will 5; Perception +9, initiative +6

Basdemar moved to the side just far enough to be able to surprise the attackers if they are such.

He waits to see what the group will decide.

Thinking about it, he moves a bit to the side of the line connecting the party and the unknown group, just in case mounted charge happens.

Male Koldemar Fighter 5/Master of many styles 1 HP 54/64, AC 24, T 18, FF 18; Fort 9, Ref 8, Will 5; Perception +9, initiative +6

Bas warns the group and slides down his horses side disappearing into the grass. His clothes ripple as the sleeves of his tunic activate changing his outfit to stripped green with darker green and brown.
