SPECIAL ABILITIES
--------------------
Racial
Orc Blood: Ba'Tar counts as both a human and an orc for any effect related to race.
Orc Ferocity: Once per day, when Ba'Tar is brought below 0 hit points but not killed, he can fight on for one more round as if disabled. At the end of his next turn, unless brought to above 0 hit points, Ba'Tar immediately falls unconscious and begins dying.
Weapon Familiarity: Ba'Tar treats any weapon with the word “orc” in its name as a martial weapon.

Traits
Exile: Ba'Tar gains a +2 trait bonus on Initiative checks.
Highlander: Batar gains a +1 trait bonus on Stealth checks, and Stealth is always a class skill for him. This trait bonus increases to +2 in hilly or rocky areas.

Class
Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Ba'Tar is proficient with all simple and martial weapons and with all armor (heavy, light, and medium) and shields (including tower shields).

Bonus Feats: At 1st level, and at every even level thereafter, a fighter gains a bonus feat in addition to those gained from normal advancement (meaning that the fighter gains a feat at every level). These bonus feats must be selected from those listed as combat feats, sometimes also called “fighter bonus feats.”

Upon reaching 4th level, and every four levels thereafter (8th, 12th, and so on), a fighter can choose to learn a new bonus feat in place of a bonus feat he has already learned. In effect, the fighter loses the bonus feat in exchange for the new one. The old feat cannot be one that was used as a prerequisite for another feat, prestige class, or other ability. A fighter can only change one feat at any given level and must choose whether or not to swap the feat at the time he gains a new bonus feat for the level.

APPEARANCE
--------------------
Ba'Tar is six and a half feet tall, wiry and broad-shouldered. He has a dusky olive complexion and long, glossy black hair that he keeps pulled back into a single thick braid. His orcish heritage is apparent from his slightly-pointed ears, heavy brow, and protruding lower canines.

BACKGROUND
--------------------
Ba'Tar was taught to shoot a bow by his mother's father.

He was a wily hunter, well respected amongst his sept of the Lyrune-Quah for his skill and cunning. Ba'Tar's mother resented her son. She had not wanted a child so soon in her life, and certainly not half-breed. As he grew older, Ba'Tar grew angrier at the distance she kept from him. His mother's father noticed this and used archery lessons as an outlet for Ba'Tar's emotional turmoil. In learning the way of the bow and arrow, Ba'Tar found a quantum of serenity.

Ba'Tar relished the time spent with his grandfather. He was the only member of the sept who treated Ba'Tar with respect. He noticed the sideways glances and mutterings of others, but so long as his mother's father lived, none dared move against Ba'Tar.

When his grandfather died, Ba'Tar left his village. He knew there would never be peace for him amongst his mother's people. He had inherited a share of his grandfather's auroch herd; he sold it to his cousins and used the money to buy a horse from a Varisian trader. Then he packed what few possession he owned and headed south with a quiver full of arrows and nine silver coins in his pocket.

The horse trader told Ba'Tar that a young man with little to lose could find his fortune in the city of Magnimar. Unfortunately for Ba'Tar, the horse only made it a little ways past the Fogscar Mountains before it died. It seems the beast was older than the trader had claimed.

According to the last signpost he passed, the town of Sandpoint was not too far away...
