once a cleric of the sun god the creature to be known as Asylun prided himself as a champion of righteousness. One day upon returning from guiding a caravan through a dangerous route he found a plague has swept through his town. Desperately he tried to fix it only to find himself and his family affected. slowly his body started to rot and soon he asked for help from his temple only to be turned away.
It was said that's when he first heard the voices. First they were encouraging. later as more of his flesh fell away and those he loved rotted into nothing they become insistent and violent. finally as he laid dying in filth and squalor he begged out to his god one last time screaming into the sky "WHY" only to have a dark cloud block the sun from view.
For a moment after invoking his goddesses name the voices stopped only to return with a vengeance. Screaming in agony for what seemed like an eternity Asylun noticed that his tears formed a small puddle in the ground. As his reflection looked upon the broken man it spoke "I can cure you.. for unlike your betrayer I am a champion of the outcast. I can grant you power. All I ask is for you to drink." Shaking with fatigue he desperately lapped the tears up from the ground like an animal and sealed his fate.
