I would wager my first months skymetal that the craft skills will be broken into seperat stats. Blacksmithing str. alchemy int. cooking wis. ETC. although good guess is all knowlage skills are inteligence based. I would put a hunch they will try to even out the skills into equal amounts. 100 int skill 100 con skils you get the idea. as for commoner expert and aristocrate. I love that idea. owever I hope that feats like craft reliquary or magic arms and armore remain magic user only feats. no one should make wands who cannot cast the spell to make it. or brew potions that a big one. I was hopeing to open my own little potion/used magic items shop in my church.. please do not take my dream from me GW. My wife says screw the basic clases she is going all aristocrate so she can be a countess and live in the city all the time. I told her she will always be my little princess. happy valentines you guys.
well I kind of agree with Lord of Elder Days. you kids are way to spoiled when it comes to convieniance of finding good prices. ok look here simple answer is to have a way to lable your shop or shopkeeper like alchemy stuff or blacksmith. not to mention as I posted elsewhere use common sense if you want a healing potion look for a church you want a sword ask directions from a dwarf. now here comes the hard stuff. it might surprise you but you may find yourself stashing or carrying around your most precious items. (fist sized ruby) or {stolen royal crown) it is going to be a gamble to either sell for what its worth or even find a buyer period and sometimes you will lose it. it is part of the game. finding friends who can cover all your basic needs and forming a basic trade organisation will be alot easier than what you all are making it out to be. especially if you belong to a guild. surly a outfit to get you though a day ater a bad fight is not that hard. so what if you have to settle for chainmail when you are used to plate? think of it as a chalenge not a handicap! so what? you over paid for your healing potions by 600 gold, that just means you are probably the only guy in 20 miles who has any or you are realy gulible either way you learn something. this game is dependent on human interaction I support AH only if it is player run and only for a large city or cluster of small (very small) kingdoms.
I like the idea of trading with monsterous NPCs. Ideally with mass mobs or more powerful singular creatures like an incognito dragon. My wife played an awesome DRAG-on. (cross dressing dragon polymorphed into a human) based on an idea from an old tv series. Ends up marring one of the pc's. Well that wedding night is going to have more than a few surprises. -Facepalm

Im not saying things have got a little away from the point of online games but in my own small world of point of view. MMOs were once thought of as a way for friends to play a good game from far away. If you take away all the bells and whistles and just make a system where people can have fun and enjoy each others company even if it is a glorified chatbox with a number generator. You have made a good game! Thats all we want. To have fun and play a game and enjoy it not to feel we have to grind for hours to have epic gear to run the insaine mode dungeon because then it feels more like work. Why would we want that! We don't get paid we are paying you! why should it feel like work it is suppost to relax us not stress our lives more. (FYI Ryan this is directed to mmo's in general not you. your doin great!)As long as we have fun we will continue to play and yes we want competition we want a challage we want war! We even want a sense that we have acomplished something not for ourselves but with our friends that we hold dear weather they are our next door neibors or half way around the world. So yea in my world thats what I am waiting for in a game. Fun with people even if they are the naked monks trying to loot my gear on a suicide run just beacause it's fun, funny, and I get a good laugh for a few seconds of the day.
Theres also the thought of Wizards carry spellbooks witch are insainly valuble vrs sorcerers that use their bloodlines... Will wizards drop their spellbooks? Not to mention a 50g silver symbol of your deity to cast divine spells vrs you keeping your 1g cleric vestment armore... I would rather be naked with a necklace. There is also the thought of monks do not use weapons and wear next to nothing in armore will this mean it is more economicle to be a monk who needs nothing to go into battle? I don't want to nitpic on keep your weapon and armore but some classes will see this as an advantage to playing certin classes and might make an uneven playing field. You could say monks need special wrappings to fight bare-handed and wizards have silver soul cords around their books but we want this to be a REAL pathfinder experiance. You are rigth it will be fun to see how you figure out how to get around this. |
