Human?

A little bit of update. I'll try to post my stuff on Monday at the earliest. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Human?

Sorry that I haven't posted yet. Been a little busy this week. Will try to post something this weekend.

Human?

Finally posted my part. Sorry it took me too long.

Human?

Now that they already got what they wanted, it is time to leave. But before they can leave Louslik's office, they suddenly hear a loud creaking sound coming from the front gate outside. For those who are aware of the people working here in this tannery, this means that Louslik's workers have returned.

The gong farmers have returned with a cartful of dungs. For the time being, they are unaware of what is happening. What will the group do in this situation? Sneak around to escape? Attack them when they least expect it?

Human?

Unfortunately, my work hasn't finished yet, so my post will be delayed a little. Sorry about that.

Human?

Sorry for the lack of update. I'm currently working on a work-related stuff IRL, so I can't find the time to post my part. Hopefully you guys can wait for a bit before Mr. President can finally make his appearance.

Scene has been set up. Feel free to roleplay and interact with each other before Codwin I shows up.

Human?

Several selected individuals have been summoned in Almas to meet Codwin I of Augustana, the Supreme Elect of Andoran. It seems that these individuals have been personally contacted by the Supreme Elect himself to carry out some sort of missions, and they will be briefed by the Supreme Elect himself on what they are about to do.

For the time being, Codwin I hasn't arrived yet, and while these chosen individuals had been informed that they are to form a specialized team under direct supervision of Codwin I, they aren't told of what they are about to do as a team yet. For now, these individuals are free to interact among themselves before the Supreme Elect arrives.

The scene is set for the meeting with Codwin I. You guys are free to roleplay with each other before Codwin I shows up.

Human?

Well, I can set up the scene where you have been summoned to a meeting with the Supreme Elect. You guys can start roleplaying there.

Human?

I'll be busy for a bit this week. I'll try to start it next week. And I will send a PM to the one who hasn't shown up yet.

Human?

I'll be busy for a few days, so I won't be able to post for a while. Hopefully, I will be able to post by the end of the week.

I have decided on who will join the first table. I will announce the second table some other time.

Those who are selected, head over to discussion thread and dot your stuff. Also, feel free to put finishing touches on your sheets if you must.

Here's to discuss stuff.

Human?

Here's the table 1 for Wings of Liberty campaign.

Sense Motive check:
Samara can see that Cimri really wants to get out of this place as soon as possible once they get whatever they want here. And from the look of it, she doesn't seem like she's going to betray them all anytime soon, though she still seems eager to see the contents of the lockbox.

Now that the lockbox has been opened, they can see that it contains the tannery's recent profits. The contents are divided into numerous small leather purses, with the "L.T" initial on each of them. These leather purses contain silver pieces in 10, 20 and 50 sp increments. The funds are worth a total of 800 gp. The box weighs 20 pounds, but can easily be transported.

"Razelago wants us to bring these to him. I'm sure he'll be giving us our rewards once we hand them to him..." Cimri says, though she still looks at those purses, as if wanting them for herself. "It's better for us to leave soon. If you want to take anything from here, now's the time..." she tells the others. Besides the lockbox, there are still a few things they can rob in this office, like the tapestries on the walls and the antique tools.

I think it's time to close the application. Now I will choose the players for both tables. Please look forward to it.

Knowledge (local) Check:
Remesiana is a city located in the Archduchy of Sirmium, located at the southern coast of Cheliax, where it is considered a stronghold of the old noble families who survived the Chelish Civil War. It is assumed that Louslik was commissioned by the constabulary of Remesiana to create these armors for them.

The thing everyone is looking for, which is a small lockbox, is located under Louslik's desk. It seems that the box is locked, though right now, Leontiana may have the key to unlock the box.

"I guess this is what we're looking for..." Cimri muses as she studies the box. She gives the one who currently holds the key, Leontiana, a look, motioning to her that she should try using the key to unlock the box. If not, someone has to pick the lock.

Because you already have the key, there is no need to pick the lock. Under normal circumstance where the key is unavailable, you will be required to make a successful DC 20 Disable Device check.

Quite a lot of applications. Let me think whether to make a third table or not. This will be hard to decide.

Human?

Perception DC 14:
Those who succeeded their perception check can find a crate at the yard branded with the name "Remesiana Constabulary", and inside the crate are eight suits of studded leather armors and one suit of masterwork studded leather armor.

With Leontiana checking on the unconscious Louslik's body to see if he has anything in his person, she will be able to find a potion of cure light wounds, a thunderstone, 9 crossbow bolts and a pair of keys. I assume that Louslik is tied up here.

Those who make their ways to Jabral Louslik's office will be greeted with the sight of a normal office. Inside, they will be able to see two leather tapestries on the walls as well as antique tools. All these things bear the initials "L.T".

"Let's start looking around. I'm sure Ol' Louslik's got his safe hidden somewhere in his office..." Cimri says to her fellow collaborators. Make perception check, DC 13. Those who are still sickened are still sickened until you're out of the tannery or a few rounds of posts have passed.

Human?

Finally made my post. Sorry for the lateness.

A question about the Character Creation guidelines: the entry in the original post states that we get 11k gold and that this represents characters being 'loaded'. But the wealth by level guidelines for level 5 suggest 10.5k. That is more, but I thought I'd check.

Well, I give you extra 500 gp, right?

with such a nice point buy, I am considering an off-attribute build. Like a charismatic Goblin. Does a Goblin build stand a chance to be selected?

Most likely a bard, a magnificient dancer that wanted to become famous. But all the Humans just laughed at him, which made him sad and looking for another career choice to prove his worth.

You're certainly free to try.

Hmm... I'd say that since Smite Evil has been replaced, perhaps you should take a different feat instead.

Human?

It's Samara's turn now.

Julian Vorast wrote:
Sounds like a very interesting game. If you run two tables is there any chance the groups would know of each other? Possible interaction between them?

About that, I'll give it some thoughts first.

Planning to keep the application open until 15th of July, at least. Maybe longer if I want to open a second table.

Human?

Before that, I forgot to give out experience points. Use fast xp track. Everyone receives 190 xp for defeating both dogs and Jabral Louslik.

Human?

Despite his best effort, Louslik is just one person, and while he did put up some fight, he's just a tanner, ultimately. The sword pommel hitting him right on top of him is enough to knock him out. The fight is now over.

Cimri sighs in relief. He grimaces at the dogs that were slain by her fellow collaborators earlier. Now that there is no immediate threat around them, Cimri decides to address one important question first.

"So... what do we do with him?" Cimri asks the others as she points at the unconscious Louslik. They can start looking around and taking his stuff after this.

Well, he's an expert with a pretty low AC. If anything, I'd say you guys are just unlucky.

Human?

For the purpose of not making the fight too clunky, yes, I give Louslik proficiency in unarmed attack.

After weathering all the offenses from others without taking damage, Louslik takes a blow from Tern at his abdomen. He gasps, left breathless by the blow. It looks like he is on the verge of collapse, but for now, he remains standing in defiance.

Louslik's HP: 1/22

Standing defiantly before the intruders, Louslik holds his fists up again and tries to punch at Tern again. It is hard to see in the darkness, but he seems certain that this one particular intruder has a punchable face.

Unarmed Strike: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Damage, Non-Lethal: 1d3 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2

Louslik fails to land a hit on Tern, again

Meanwhile, Cimri tries to deal another blow to Louslik's head with her sap.

Cimri's Sap: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Damage, Non-Lethal: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Cimri fails to land a hit on Louslik

GM re the flagbearer feat do the party members qualify for it's bonus? Clarissa is very much Team Thrune, I described the Cheliax flag since I don't actually know what the house Thrune arms look like.

Anyway if they do qualify then everyone has +1 to their rolls (not sure if that actually changes anything).

Down the line it would be neat if we qualified for our own flag.

Well, for now let's assume it's Cheliax flag.

One other question GM, I built Clarissa with Grease. That's a great spell but on reflection charm person seems like it matches her personality better, would you mind if I swap it out?

Sure, no problem.

Well, this looks good enough.

Questions:

1. What are you thinking for battle maps? Theater of the mind, Google slides, roll20, etc?
2. How often do you expect players to post? It's always good for me to know if it's a 2x per day, 1x per day, 5x per week, or whatever kind of game.
3. Given the game feel, I'm guessing your ok with relatively strong character builds?

Answering questions.

1. I'm going with theater of the mind, though I'll probably use maps once in a while to help with the story.
2. Ideally, I prefer once per day or more.
3. Yeah, I'm okay with that, as long as you follow the rules and not too egregious about it.

This was one of three answers the GM gave earlier.

Arjuna332, did you perchance mean "Codwin I of Augustana, the Supreme Elect of Andoran, has won his second reelection as the Supreme Elect, winning the popular vote in 4712," instead of "4012"?

Oh right. It's 4712, not 4012. Though in my defense, the source I'm using (Andoran, Birthplace of Freedom) wrote 4012 instead of 3712, which is a typo.

Whoops, I mean 4712, not 3712.

It's cool, I cheated and looked on the Wiki page for the year.

Any response on Alt human traits or drawbacks? I've about got Ivar ready for inspection.

Ah, right. Sure, go for it.

Well, I'm planning to have my character as a king, so there's that.

Despite Clarissa's attempt to antagonize him, Louslik seems unmoved and unaffected by her words and remains resolute against these invaders.

Clarissa fails to antagonize Louslik.

This looks like a blast. My first thought is a human Vigilante, sort of vibing off of the Marvel 1602 line of comics to be a nascent (potentially but not necessarily) masked hero, with a social identity that could either be critical of certain government elements or staying far away from it.

I imagine a philosopher or lawyer who fights for peoples' rights in the courts during the day and then suits up to go wreck races at night.

Is this viable, distracting, or unworkable?

Well, feels like a one-trick pony to me (because there's also normal adventuring and other stuff, not just things related to politics and intrigue), though if you want to test your luck, go ahead.

Well, if the character seems interesting I may consider getting your character on board.

All right, thanks for answering! I'll assume that means shamans are allowed as a submission? And that we are required to spend almost all of our starting gold? As otherwise he or she could leave some of it unspent and then craft something immediately in the first day of the campaign. Or is that all right depending on how much was left in reserve? A rules variant I once read recommended that at most 25% of starting gold could be used for crafting or left in reserve if someone had those feats.

Second, are we using the Elephant in the Room rules to remove the most common feat taxes from the game? As in, everyone would have inmate access to power attack and weapon finesse, precise shot could be taken without point blank shot, combat maneuvers are consolidated into two groups etc.

You're free to do whatever you want with your wealth, whether to spend it to buy your character some blings and stuff or leave it unspent for later use, it is up to you. And yes, shaman's allowed because it's not occult class.

About Elephant in the Room, I'd rather not use third-party stuff, so no Elephant in the room.

Is it ok to keep some spell selections and one feat unspent pending the actual party make up?

About HP, determine your character's average HP at level 5.

As for spell selections and feat, we're gonna do some session 0 anyway to do some adjustment, so you should decide on spells and feat on your character first, and then adjust them accordingly if your character ends up being chosen.

Also, that avatar's kind of distracting. Is that a hole on her back?

Human?

So far, everyone has failed to land a hit on Louslik, though the tanner doesn't seem to lower his guard. But it seems that he is surrounded, with both Tern and Samara upon him, and he knows that he needs to get out of this predicament and regroup.

With two of the intruders cornering him, and with him being flanked, Louslik knows that he cannot retreat back into his office. So, he puts away his crossbow and tries to engage with one closest to him with his fists. He knows he is surrounded, but at least he tries to make sure that even if he gets defeated, he can at least give his enemies some black eyes.

Now unarmed, Louslik tries to punch the one closest to him, Tern.

Unarmed Strike: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Damage, Non-Lethal: 1d3 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2

Louslik fails to deal any damage on Tern.

At the same time, Cimri contemplates whether to attack Louslik or not. After a brief contemplation, she takes out her sap and tries to hit Louslik with it, hoping that she can at least deal some damage on him to take him down.

Cimri's Sap: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Damage, Non-Lethal: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Cimri deals 4 nonlethal damage on Louslik.

Louslik's HP: 18/22

Order: Cimri, Leontiana, Samara, Kehlysch, Clarissa, Tern, Louslik

Alright, looks good to me.

Oh, almost forgot. I'll only allow one archetype per class, so no two archetypes at the same time.

Human?

We somehow got out of turn, but still manageable. It's Samara's turn now, and then Tern.

I'd say no crafting items prior to the start of the game. Make use of the starting wealth to get items that you want.

Also, I'd appreciate it if not everyone's pursuing multiclass. Gotta keep the party balanced with single-classed party members as well.
